Sorry I've been a little mia...no good excuses. Eating and exercising has been going well. Weigh loss pitiful. But I finally lost a pound. One in two weeks is disappointing but I'm trying to look at the positive side. My pants aren't too tight anymore and I think I'm beginning to see a waist again.

Today's workout was a Leslie Sansone two mile ab video and 17 minutes on the treadmill. I didn't break my record for the mile but I did get it in 13 min and 39 seconds.

Solly...if you are back home I hope you are doing great. Praying for a speedy recovery.

Toni...thanks for all the encouragement over at facebook.

Ellen...do you still have company? Hope ya'll are having a blast.

Mercee...how are things in your neck of the woods?

    Love and hugs,
    Crystle
  • Checking in. My sister left this afternoon. I thought they would leave this morning early, but her daughter in law slept late, and I don't think she felt very well, so she dragged her feet about leaving. The house is quiet. It was nice having them here. Yesterday afternoon we went up to our daughter's house and stayed fairly late. My niece in law and my daughter were playing a game on the Wii. My sister, niece and I bowled three games on it too. I did horribly. I am usually pretty good, so I was disappointed!

Tom is working on a garden plot he is going to plant spinach in for a fall crop. I am chilling. I need to go to the store. I just want some down time, alone, to regroup. Its been a very busy week!

Will be back later....hoping Solly checks in soon.

  • Checking in. The weather has been great and I so enjoyed the weekend. Now the temps are back up and we've had to turn the air back on. But it was good while it lasted. The river was full of floaters. Lots of canoes and kayaks going by. Going to fix chicken salads soon for dinner.

Crystle- That's a great work out today. Congrats on the 1 lb. loss. That's a carton of butter you've lost....

Ellen- Hope you got some by yourself time today. It was nice you had company.

Hope you're home and resting Solly. Hi to Mercee.
  • Morning Ladie:

I had a great weekend with my hubby. We went downtown on a dinner cruise Sunday evening to celebrate with our friends their 28th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful time.

I went back to the dietician and she was so surprised that I have lost 12 pounds in 5 weeks. My glucose has been great as well. ( She checked my meter). I am so excited that working out and eating has been great. It has been a long time since I've had this kind of sucess . I go back to the dietician in October.

Solly- We miss you. Get well soon.

Crystle- Great job eating and exercising. It will all come together.

Ellen- Glad you enjoyed your sister and family.

Toni-How did your chicken salad turn out? I love chicken salad.
  • Been busy today. So I'll just do a fly by. Nothing new here.

Mercee- Our chicken salad came out great. We had a great big lettuce salad with it. You're doing so well. 12 lbs. is great. The dinner cruise sounds wonderful.
  • Just checking in... I checked out the scale today and it was NOT pretty. Our eating was off while my sister and niece were here, and then last night we went and had dinner with friends for his birthday. I ate too many corn chips and salsa and then I had a small piece of cake. All the gluten overload and extra fat took its toll..... So today I am back on the straight and gluten free vegan narrow. I had a friend over with her two month old baby and I made curried chickpeas and sauteed eggplant for lunch. I feel kind of full still. I am also feeling sore and achy from the Wii bowling on Sunday, so I feel rather crabby.

    Will check in tomorrow!

MERCEE: Way to go! 12 pounds in five weeks is GREAT! My husband and I celebrated our 34 anniversary over the weekend! We did not do anything for it yet though, since we had company. We may go out one night this week, and use a gift card we have had for a while to some swanky restaurants here. I am thinking lobster...
  • I had a post and hit yhe wrong button and lost everything. Iam using my DD's computer so nothing is where I expext. Iam home. I had to stay an extra day as I could noy keep anything down. Finally around 6L00 Sat i kept down som tomato soup, so I got to come home on Sunday. I have no pain frm the incision but I am so dizzy. I can;t walk by myself andif I move my head the rooms spins. Considering i went for 48 hours w/o eating.

Crystle, throw that scale away, if your pants aren't tight, you are seeing results.

Ellen, glad your companyh is wrong and you can get back on track and get some rest.

Toni, Nothing going on here, I am bored but can't do anything. \

Mercee, you are doing so greaT, YOU ARe our posterchild.
going to run as I keep hitting the wrong buttons. be back later
  • Good morning! Its great to see a post from Solly!

I just made a triple batch of tofu mini quiches...and after I put them in the oven and baked them half the time, I realized I forgot the nutritional yeast, which dramatically improves the flavor to be more quiche-like. Drat! I tried one when they came out and its not bad...its just not as good as it could be. They are relatively high protein and low fat, so they make a lovely breakfast. I just had my espresso too. So now I am all set. Well, kind of! I roasted coffee beans while the quiches were cooking. Now I am taking a break. I have tons to do. I think I ought to tackle the laundry and wash sheets today.

I realized it was Wednesday after breakfast....so I will wait to weigh in. I know I am up an obscene five or so pounds, anyway. I guess that is my usual though....two steps forward, one and a half back. sigh.

I really should have gotten my butt in gear this morning and gone for a walk. I woke up congested though and its continued all morning. I hope if its a cold it is short lived. I really hate being sick.

    Be back later!
  • Morning everyone. Getting nervous its getting closer to my testing on Friday. I had the chemical stress tests and I'm having one. Will be glad when its over. Trying to think of something for breakfast and guess it will be shredded wheat and bran and some sliced cantaloupe. Tonight will be a salad with pork tenderloin on it.

Solly- Still praying for you. I'm glad you're home but that sure sounds like something wrong with you getting dizzy all the time. I hope they call you back soon and let you know what to do.

Ellen- Breakfast sounds good. Oh darn I forgot to weigh in to. Guess I'll skip it today. Sorry you're congested.

Off to finish my coffee before getting my butt in gear.
  • Good afternoon ladies:

Solly- It is so great to hear from you. I hope they find out what is causing the dizziness. I am still praying for you.

Ellen- Hope you feel better soon. Your breakfast sounds yummy.

Toni- I'm praying everything comes out well with your test.

    Have a great day everyone.
  • Solly- This is for you
  • ((Everybody))
I just love coming to this board and seeing you ladies here. I can't express what a blessing each of you truly is.

Solly..SO SO good to see you. I'm sorry you are dizzy. Praying they get it sorted out soon so you can feel like your ole self.

Helen..Happy Belated Anniversary. Those pounds will come off before you know it. That is the good thing about water weight versus fat.

Toni..Praying all goes well with your test. I'm cooking pork for the guys also.

Mercee...WTG on your 12 pounds. You are going GREAT!

    I'll weigh in tomorrow.

    Love and hugs,
    Crystle
  • We had a lovely quiet evening...Tom worked in the garden some, then we sat down and watched the first half of the A&E six hour mini-series Pride and Prejudice. I have watched it SO much I can quote the lines, but we love it. I have not watched it for probably a year, so I am enjoying it. Not sure when we can watch the second half...the rest of the week and weekend are packed.

Tonight I made quinoa brownies. They are gluten free, and I use an egg replacement too. They are very good...even when I cut the amount of sugar I put in them to less than half what the recipe calls for. Quinoa is a high protein grain too, so I think they must be good for you.

Its time for bed, so good night everyone!
  • Morning ladies:

Just a quick drop in to say hi. I am feeling terrible my sinuses are really draining and my head hurts.

Have a great day everyone. I will survivve this!!!
  • Lovely rain here today. Think its starting to pass but it sure has been nice. I've curled in the chair and watched tv and played with my computer today. Also took a little nap. Lazy day. Dreading the tests tomorrow.

Solly- How are you today? Hope they've done something about your dizziness.

Mercee- Hope your sinus get better.

Ellen- I sure wished I could cook the good healthy stuff you do. Those brownies sound great.

    Crystle- Hows your day today?

Off to be more lazy... LOL
