I went out of town for the weekend. Partied too hard and ate too much. Up 4 pounds from where I was when I went lol. That's okay the water weight will drop soon. L2D2 and I'm going to throw in some blast fat boost metabolism for some extra sweat!
I have been idle yesterday because I was too busy preparing lessons, and won't do it today either because I'm not feeling well. Think I'm coming down with the flu. :-(
I'm getting irritated. Today is day 15 for me after looking at t calendar and counting the smiley faces I draw that means l2d5. I have noticed a change in my looks but not my weight. I was down 5 pounds then had a bad weekend and I'm still sitting at 180. Now, I know one bad weekend didn't kill everything I'd done. When I started this I also cut out all cokes and mostly everything but water. I drink vitamin water zero at lunch. I am eating smaller meals and trying to make better choices. I am soooo sore so I assume I am holding some water in those muscles. But, what gives? Anyone else not feeling like its doing much pounds wise? I am not thin by any means but I do only want to lose about 20 pounds. What am I doing wrong?
ButterCup85...Same here. I do see some difference in my body. Last week when I weighed in, I was down 2/10's, this week up 4/10th's of a pound.
I thought it was just me, I am 61 yrs old, 5' 0" tall and a small frame. I am half way to my goal, and was hoping that doing 30DS would help me get further along.
Irish51- I've been taking pictures and I see a difference. We still have a ways to go so maybe it'll get better. I'd read though that many people's weight didn't budge much, but that the inches lost did. I mean getting toned is good too I am just not measuring so its like I see no real progress. Maybe I should had checked inches prior. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Cause I've really been trying. We can be irritated together. Maybe in this next week well drop some pounds. I'd also read that when you start exercising an eating right your body isn't used to it so it may take a bit for it to catch up. We are for sure doing the best thing and it has got to pay off eventually- hopefully sooner than later!
I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday. I did complete L3D3 yesterday. It was still a struggle.
Irish51 and Buttercup85 - Most of the success stories I've read point to loss in inches over pounds with this program. Some people had dramatic before and after photos but only lost 4-6 pounds the entire 30 days. For me the scale has moved some (5 lbs through levels 1 and 2), but I think that is related more to my diet than the program since I'm staying around 1200 calories per day. I think it should be moving more given my intake to burn ratio, but I figure I'm building muscle plus my whole thyroid issue gets the way of shedding pounds. I can say though that I have definitely lost inches and I know that what I've lost has been fat since my muscles are more defined and the fat loss is evident.
Thanks,ButterCup85 and bunnabear. I do take my measurements the 1st day of each month. I know my arms have better definition and my abs seem a bit tighter.
yesterday was my first unplanned rest day since I started this journey. I had an appointment in the morning so I couldn't do it before work like I usually do and I ended up with a severe migraine in the afternoon.
I completed L3D4 this morning. I was very proud of myself since I did the full fledged sit ups with my arms crossed over my chest and I was able to keep my heels on the ground and get through the full set - It felt good!
So, after thinking about the lack of pounds lost- which bothers me. I decided to pull up the pictures I took on Feb 7th- 6 days into 30 day shred. And, I took some today and compared. I feel a ton better after seeing this and I just wanted to share. But, there's a ton of cellulite hopefully it looks a little better some day lol. The first pic on the top right is grainy and I think I messed it up a bit lol. It's my first time putting multiple photos in paint so sorry for that lol. The first set did get edited today just to lighten the darker ones. http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/...dfeb212013.jpg and l2d6 done!

bunnabear- After reading your post about sit ups I tried one today and failed lol. I'm scared of level 3! I may stay at 2 for a little longer, it's still quite difficult for me.
Day 1 for me. Got through it. I did the 30 day shred 3 years ago, 55 pounds heavier and wow what a difference.
Still have 30+ pounds to lose. Thank you to recent posters for the encouragement to get back to working out! I've also been jogging/walking at the gym.
I started the 30DS a couple days ago (I just finished L1D3)-- the only problem I have is that I live in an apartment building and live in fear of annoying my downstairs neighbors with thundering jumping jacks and butt kicks. I've peeked ahead enough to know that the plank jacks etc in level 2 will cause the same problems. Have people figured out how to tackle this? For the moment I've been doing some extra cardio beforehand (mile run at a 5-6 mph pace) and doing extra punches to replace other exercises, but that's not going to cut it for long. Anyone attempted doing it outdoors in a park or something?
Today was really nice, as I'm on a work trip and my hotel has a great fitness center. I ran a mile and gave the workout my all, and even managed to do all the pushups (girly ones) without dying. The side lunge exercise still kills me though, it's the only exercise where I think 10 lb weights may just be too much for me to handle.
L3D5 complete. It is still kicking my behind! I actually felt light headed today when I finished. I think the constant up and down from plank moves to standing to abs, etc is getting to me almost as much as the workout!
