Can I join?

I started 30DS a couple of weeks ago then had a back injury so starting over, L1D1 done - and it isn't quite as bad as I remembered it! I also managed to find a way to stop my guilt at exercising while I'm babysitting my 6 year old nephew...he joined in! He put me to shame with those damn jumping jacks! Had a go with some of the strength moves and had a well deserved rest while I was doing abs! I got my work out in and he had fun, success all round

After reading through this entire thread, I've decided - I'm starting tomorrow!

Gave it a try earlier, but wasn't able to go through with it for various reasons. Hoping it'll be better this time!

L1D5--got up and did it before work again this morning. I'm finding the cooldown isn't long enough, though, so I'm going to have to figure out how to cool down effectively so I can get showered and ready for work!

No stops on the first round of knee pushups, although I need to work on going further down--right now, it's little movements! I did more jumping jacks today than I did yesterday, so that's a win.

I'm doing this with 2 lb weights, although for the last part of squat and press, I have to put the weights down. I'm going to go up to 3lbs for the chest flies, though, since I'm finding those pretty easy.

Abs give me a chance to rest, except for the bicycle move, which I'm going to have to practice form on when I'm not already whipped. I'm not too whipped to do abs--just one that requires that much coordination!

Tomorrow (before work): Day 6!

L1D1 Done! A bit modified, not very good with jumping jacks and pushups...and bicycle crunches are hard! Doing it with 3lb weights, which for me is just doable enough.

Day 1 of Level 2 complete! Wow, that was tough! I dropped back to the 5 lb weights for the exercises (I had to drop back to 3s for the 2nd set of the chair squat with shoulder raises in the V pattern).

Here is my progress through level 1:
Weight: lost 1.9 lbs
Chest: down 0.75 inches
Waist (smallest part): down 0.5 inches
Pooch (largest part of middle): down 0.75 inches
Hips: down 0.75 inches
Left thigh: down 0.25 inches
Right thigh: minimal change (my thighs are now even)
Left arm: increased 0.25 inches
Right arm: increased 0.25 inches

I'm very excited about the inches lost in 10 days. I'm also excited about inches gained in my arms. I don't carry excess weight in my arms so there weren't inches to lose there and the increase shows I'm building muscle. YAY!!!!

I'm worrying about my knees. My form is getting better with the lunges, but I think I started out not pushing my butt out enough and moving my knee too much.

Do you think it'd be a bad idea if I did two more days this week, skipped my out of town days (Fri-Sat-Sun) and then started again on Monday? I was planning on taking my laptop and DVD so I could do it in the hotel fitness room.

Beth, the 30 Day shred, does not have to be completed in 30 days.

I sometimes do 2 days, skip a day or 2, and then do another 2 days.

I had my 10 month old grandson late Sunday night until Monday at 7:30 PM. By the time he was picked up I was tired and hungry. No way could I deal with doing the shred. I skipped yesterday, and I did day 7 this morning.

I think you will be fine.

Just bought the DVD. Going to try today but I imagine getting through it is going to kill me, and I have to drive 90 miles Tomorrow to go get my aunt who just had surgery. I am trying to convince her to come stay with me during recovery, so I don't want to be too sore while supporting her around the house. Grr to her selfish daughter who does not work or have custody of her kids, like be
selfless for once in your life and help your momma.

L1D8 Complete!

After an 11-hour work day. I rock.

The bicycle crunches are going better although I am not as controlled as I should be according to the DVD. :-) I have done the complete set of modified pushups but don't think I'll ever be able to do the real ones, hehe.
