L1D8 complete! I had one crazy day.. I did an intense Crossfit workout this morning with my friend who is a personal trainer.. Then I made some lunch and waiting until my roommate got home and we did 30DS.. THEN one of my friends I haven't seen in months wanted to hang out and grab a drink but I told her I was working out and eating healthy so she suggested we go for a run.. We ran 1.5 miles (she's a runner.. I am not a runner) and bc she was next to me and I didn't want to look like an idiot I did the entire thing without stopping! Hopefully my body still functions tomorrow so I don't feel like that.

I finished L1 D4 this afternoon. I really hate jumping jacks. Lol
The jumping jacks are killing me. The first cardio circuit is HORRIBLE. I prefer the second one with the butt kicks and the boxing thing.

Anyway, L1D6 completed! Never thought I'd stay commited for this long.

L1D8 complete! I wasn't sore at all from Day 6 and 7 so I increased my weight a bit today. I used 8lb weights for the first round of everything and then the 5s for the second set (except the side lunge combo - I used 5lb/3lb split and the bicep curls - I used 8lb for both sets). We'll see how I feel tomorrow.

L1D4 complete! I'm subscribing to this topic. :-)
The only thing I'm having real trouble with is the push-ups; I wasn't able to do them at all at first but now I think I've got the modified version down.. I think maybe by Monday I'll be trying proper push-ups. ;-)

I'm not finding it too difficult, however I'm only using 1lb weights, do you guys think that is ridiculous?

I don't think that's ridiculous at all. I think its about finding what's comfortable for you while still pushing a bit. If it's not challenging though I would think about increasing.

I have to be honest. I pooped out on the 30 Day Shred. I was so close but Level 3 killed my willpower. I did Zumba last night and I will start my rotation. Day 1 - Zumba + L1
Day 2 - Zumba + L2
Day 3 - Zumba + L3
Repeat

Maybe if I don't string all of my L3s in a row it won't be too daunting.

Keep it moving ladies!

I started this program today and so far I like it but I have a question.

I know the name, 30 Day Shred, implies that you do it every day for 30 days. But since we're working the same muscle groups by doing the same workout every time, should I instead do it every other day so those muscles get a rest? Or should I do a different level every day?

I downloaded the video from Amazon so if there was some sort of instruction booklet included with the actual dvd, I don't have it.

There was nothing in the DVD box but the DVD. I started today today--and it kicked my butt. I, however, was unable to kick my own butt. In fact, I walked/ marched through a lot of the cardio while keeping my arms moving. (I ordered a new sports bra today and hope that will help--the girls need more support.)

I'm using 2 lb weights and only had to put them down for the second set of the lunges. I stayed moving (almost) the whole time, so I count that as a win.

I'm planning on 30 days in a row--although it'll be hard next weekend because we'll be traveling.

Good luck to us!

L1D9 complete!! I used the 8lb weights all the way through (except side lung combo where I used 5lbs for both sets). I was a little sore today after the weight increase yesterday which felt good.

justonemorepound - have you tried a ballet squat? When my knee bothers me I'll do those as an alternative and it seems to put less stress on the knee. You basically just widen your stance and turn the toes at a more outward angle instead of straight ahead and then squat. It ends up being more downward and less down and back. It may not help depending on your knee issue but maybe worth a try.

L1D5 complete. I bought 2lbs weights today and I felt it more though it was still doable.

Got through L1D2. I can't do most of the cardio. She may have 400 lb people doing jumping jacks and butt kicks, but I just can't seem to do them. I stayed moving through it all though.

My abs are feeling it today.

Been absent for a few days. Just haven't been feeling any motivation to do it. Getting back into it this week!
