Afternoon chicks,

Annie sooo sorry your feeling down. It's hard when the weather is rough but getting out would probably help or making a date with a supportive friend. The mind has a weird way of playing tricks on us and sometimes giving your mood a little perspective can go a long way to improving it.

Yesterday was a horrible day and I'm feeling a little like frankenstein myself lately but realize after many years of these mood swings that it is a little trick my mind plays on me when hormones are fluctuating.
I'm doing much better today and have reset my determination to succeed. I need to lose this weight for health reasons and will probably have more control over mood swings as I succeed with weight loss. A bit of a circular pattern but everything is connected.

Have a great weekend all.

Nina

Default Weekend

I am getting ready to go home soon and I am thinking about food... junk food. I know I have a hard time on the weekends. I want to succeed and feel as if I am fighting myself on the weekends.

I will just pop things right in my mouth I will search every shelf for treats. I drive myself crazy and my hubby too. He usually goes and buys me something and then I shove that in. He likes me fat. He likes my big boobs and butt. Which doesn't exist when I am thinner. He is bad! And selfish. I am trying to be strong. For me and for everyone who needs it!

I might check in this weekend when I feel like eating. Hopefully this will work.

Default Friday!

Hi everyone:

well I have been cooling it here with a heating pad on my belly from TOM and ice on my knee. I think my knee is better and I could walk tomorrow. Fingers crossed! TOM is almost gone and I hope I will weigh in well on monday--a little worried because I havent exercised much this week but the eating has been okay so we'll see.

GTL and JLN--the more the merrier!

Annie: hang in there--I have been struggling with depression and anxiety for a while and it is no fun. It would probably be a good idea for you to check with you doc and get some help. I know my doc and my therapist have been key!

Nina--I feel like godzilla sometimes. The bad part is that I felt that way when I thin too--never thin enough!

worldsbest: It is cool that your hubby likes you the way you are! I guess that makes it both harder and easier, huh? I know for me as I started getting about 200lbs that the physical problems started getting problematic--I hate feeling heavy and bulky and having problems with my knees and feet. I also miss being stronger and athletic. What is your motivation for losing?

Okay everyone--hang in for the weekend!

hi...
i've not been around these last couple of days...

hello to all the woman that have recently joined....

it's been a very difficult week...i found out on the weekend my mom is remarrying...and although i'm happy for her...i'm also worried about her...she hasn't known him long...

had to go to my 16 year old son's high school for meeting with principal about my son's poor attendance (he skips)....

had a big test for course i am taking...

and my TOM is here...

the only good thing i can say is that i have maintained eating healthy...which is something...i am an emotional eater...it really does feel different this time...i am not allowing myself any excuses for poor eating...it's a miracle...

sorry this is so negative...i'm just overwhelmed and i'm trying to get through it...

hope everyone has a good day....
take care,
kate

Default Saturday!

Well the week has been okay as far as eating but exercise has gone to pot due to my knee. I walked for 17 minutes today and came in when my knee gave me a twinge. I am icing it now and hope I can build back up to 30 minutes.

Kate for not eating when you are under all that stress plus TOM too! That is such a milestone. Keep up the good work--what is your secret?

Mia--hang in there--an inconsistent scale can really mess with your head. You can get pretty accurate scales inexpensively. I spent almost a whole hour one day getting on and off scales at a Bed bath and beyond--and I found a Thinner scale for around $20 that is really consistent. It was guaranteed to have accurate weight etc.

Have a great weekend everyone and resist those temptations!

I started taking a fiber supplement in the morning and at night--one of those you stir into water? It really helps with appetite--I definitely dont want to eat after taking it!

Evening Chicks,

Hope your feeling better Annie
Sounds like your playing it smart with the knee Sno. The fiber supplement is a great idea if you can stomach it.
The scale sounds very frustrating Mia. I bought a weightwatchers scale a while back and it definately tells no lies.

Kate way to stay on track with your eating I wish I could say the same.

WBM5 I had a donute issue on thursday and my hubby promptly went out and bought a dozen. Thank goodness my teens were around a gobled them up in a blink of a eye. I love my kids.
I've stepped up my supplements to include 4 cups of green tea and organic apple cider vinegar morning and evening. I've been having a increase in appetite the last couple of days and rather than ignore it which causes me to mini binge I've been eating a bit more but healthy stuff. Made it to the gym for a good cardio workout and did an hour of weight training as well. I'm not expecting any weight loss this monday after this weeks set backs but don't think I've gained anything.

for all,

Nina

good morning everyone...
happy to say that i'm more positive today...sometimes i even get on my nerves!!!
i went to lunch with a friend yesterday...it was a much needed break outside the house...i really don't like winters/snow/cold and i tend to hibernate...which i don't think is good for my mental heath...just good for staying warm!
last night i watched the biggest loser and another weight loss program- Xweighted...i love shows like that...find them inspiring...anyone else hooked on them?

40- why are you drinking the apple cider vinegar?..what does that do?...i laughed about your kids and the donut issue...my kids are like eating machines..so the nice thing is with teenagers around the goodies never stay around for long...yes...they are wonderful for that!

wbms-hope your weekend went well

mia-i understand the scale obsession...i actually have to be careful not to weigh myself too much...i don't want the scale to dictate my mood and eating..also there are so many fluctuations in short periods of time that it is really best to try to weigh yourself only once or twice a week ...at least thats what i've found...

snow-hope your knee is feeling better...i don't know if i ever felt athletic in my life...but i do miss the feeling of being comfortable in my own skin....excercising more easily...and not like feeling like a lump...

WE CAN DO IT!!!!!
a friend of mine just gave me Billy Blanks Basic Training Tae Bo...
i'm going to do it this morning...well...i'll see how long i last for...plan on at least 20 mins. of it...

take care,
have a good day!

Good Morning Everyone,

Well I'm happy to say I have good news from the scale. I've lost 2.5 lbs this week and am now a proud resident of ONEderland! I did however completely BLOW all of my SMART goals and had a really tough time over the weekend.

So I am renewing my resolve and getting right back on track, so here are my goals again:

1) Log everything I eat into Fitday...even on the weekend!
2) Drink at least 4 waterbottles full of water
3) Hit the gym on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday
4) Walk around the lake at least once this week

Kate: Glad to hear you are feeling better! I too really like X-Weighted and Taking it Off and some of the others. Good luck with your Tae Bo!

40: Who can resist donuts?! Glad the kids were able to help you out there 8) As far as feeling hungrier, simply by coincidence, we happen to be studying obesity in my Psych class and here is something I've learned (Everyone probably already knows this but I didn't and found it interesting):

The fat in our bodies release a hormone called Leptin. When it is released, it signals to the body that we have lots of energy stores so we should stop eating. In other words, we feel full on less food. However, when we start to lose fat, less of the hormone is released and we feel hungrier.

How is that for discouraging. Our own bodies are out to get us!
I do find a little comfort though in knowing why I get hungrier, so at least I can fight it on a mental level.

Snow: Good luck with the Fibre supplements!

Mia: Don't get too discouraged. The scale will probably always fluctuate but you will start to see the numbers go lower, even if they do vary. I always have to weigh 3 times and take the middle.

Good luck all!

Okay I am back from Missing In Action. Terrible week last week...iced in the house...the majority of it. I am not even going to go back into my terrible habits I fell back on but I am back on track today.

Default Weekend from Bleep!

I am at work now, but this weekend was awful. Hubby was sick. I ended up not sleeping for over 30 hours due to it. I actually can handle the lack of sleep but what killed me was that every time I thought I finally could get some sleep I would have to get up, usually right about the time I was ready to drift off. I said forget that and just stayed up.

Well by Saturday night I was able to make it to a store and I bought myself a coke and a Reese's p cup. I had only eaten crackers and a small amount of stir fry that my lovely son picked up for me. then I sat on the couch and zoned waiting for one of the kids to start in with it. Nasty bug!

So, I wore myself out physically with all the laundry and cleaning ( I sanitized everything!) and the lack of sleep and food. I have a meeting to go to today in Salt lake so I might not get my workout in. I will try though, I brought my clothes.

Sorry to gripe, but I am still tired. I want to focus on me, but it is hard when life is coming at you from all sides. or in hubbies case ends.

Just checking in to say according to the scale my dad bought this weekend, I am down 2 pounds! I haven't been getting to the gym, but have been eating much better- actually raided the kitchen and sent most of the chips and other junk to work with my hubby. (Can't send all of it, cause I live with my dad, and he loves his snacks and has no weight issues whatsoever- but he has been buying snacks that he knows I don't like )

Prolly won't be getting to the gym for a few days, I've got sick kids. Yesterday was my daughter's 6th birthday, and she spent it sitting on the couch in a fever induced daze feeling miserable. My 3yo wasn't feeling so hot either, but she's doing fine today, but now my son is not feeling right (of couse, it's a school day for him so I'm not positive he's really sick, but I'm not taking the chance)

Anyway, gotta get back to my kiddos, but I'll be back later to post my SMART goal for this week- need to think about it... hope you all have a good day!

Default Monday--15 weeks to go!

Hi all--well I met my weight loss goal--2 lbs. I was worried due to less exercise this week--hope I can get the knee on track but cant rush it.

I try to drink one liter of water before breakfast and it was cold this morning--I had to heat it up a little!

Worlds best--sorry about your tough weekend--hopefully you can get some rest and some tlc! Sounds like you need it.

Dolly--glad you are back--everyone has good and bad days. the important thing is to be back on track!

Cubb: that is so cool to be in onederland--what a nice reward for all your efforts!

Kate: glad you are feeling better--sometimes it takes some effort to keep the good mood going. Good for you for trying a new exercise!

Nina: good job being proactive with your increase in appetite! I know that can be a bummer. The fiber supplement is terrible tasting but really helps with my appetite. If I have it after dinner I dont feel hungry until bedtime--that is a wonderful help.

Have great week ladies--I will be thinking about my goals and post them later.
