Sno you have an awesome friend. This has to be your third massage with her since I started posting. It's great to have a day like that.

I used to get pretty caught up with my scale and what it said every morning would pretty much set the mood for the rest of the day. I had to relax abit on the scale watch as I seemed grumpy about 2 out of every three days. Not very pleasant way to start the day. I'm gaging a little more by how my clothes fit now and weighing in every 3-4 days. Those doctor's scales can be really nasty. Acouple of years ago I went shoppig for a scale right after weighing in at the doctor and came home with a weight watcher scale that cost a whole lot but it tells no lies.

Nite all,

Nina

Default Ohhh Awwww!!1

WOW!!! I need a massage! I think I am going to look into it for Valentines day and birthdays.

To all of us for the weekend!

Snow we all need to live in the moment. You are fine just press forward. I think if we all "slip up" then go for a while on our food plans then life is good. We are not failures.... just human. I think it helps to do long periods of being "good" followed by a short period of being "bad". Its when we switch it around things go wrong, such as my humongous gut! We just need to keep on keeping on!

Good news my friend has lost 40 lbs. she goes to curves and she found out laast night she is in the top 10 losers for 2006. Isn't that neat. She and I weigh the same now. Well, I am trying to get her to join us here. I can't wait to be a big loser too!

I am in a great mood today. yesterday I was able to perform plank in pilates and yoga! I have such a good instructor! She really went through it step by step. Boy did that help. Plus I am stronger than I was 3 weeks ago. I am loving this.

Snow- if you plugged all of those calories you consumed into a calorie counter such as fitday, I bet you would see that you didn't even consume enough to make a pound. It's exactly like WBM said. One slip up just means you are human. I wasn't angelic last night myself. What matters most is just getting back up on that wagon and making great choices now.

WBM- WOW! Plank is really tough. I haven't been able to do it. I am really proud of you! That's awesome!

40 before 40- What scale did you buy? I am in the market for one that can distinguish between water weight and actual weight, but I have no idea how it knows. Can anyone explain the "scale science" to me?

Ok- well so yesterday I was not angelic because my best friend (bad influence) just broke up with her boyfriend and moved in with me (hopefully temporarily). In the evenings when I want to workout and eat healthy, she wants to drink wine and chat. Yesterday, she held "girl's night" at my house and we drank wine and champagne. TOO much wine and champagne which tossed my calorie count to a whopping 1530 (I haven't had a day over 1300 calories since Dec 31) AND made me too sluggish to do my morning workout today which I have to find the energy to make up later. UGGHHH!!!

However, on the brighter side, I am down another pound so I am officially 15 pounds down from my starting weight holding presently at 151. I can not wait to be in the 140's. The 140s for me are where I look good but can still reduce to make it even better. That's a good spot to be in.

Also yesterday I checked out the new Proenza Schouler line at Target and am THRILLED because I actually fit into a size 11 skinny legged pant there. I love that! Size 11....WOW!

I hope everyone else has some good news to report today and that you all hold strong over the weekend.

Default don't give into the dark side!

Aimin4thin.... you are going to have to convert your friend over to your side. Esp. since she just had a breakup. Now is a good time for her to regroup and focus on herself... even if she is thin she will benefit from the heart healthy workouts. Don't give in to the dark side. Stick to the force!!!! Use the force!!
Well, back to work. I hate reports!

Hi all:

wow--thanks for the resounding support after my slip yesterday! You all made me feel really good and motivated to stay on plan It is funny how one day of slip ups can make you feel kinda down. I realized that I hadnt been eating very much in my goal to lose and that makes me have a rebound effect. I need to keep my eating at a level I can maintain--not starve myself and then get ravenous.

Yeah--my friend is great--I have been having lots of financial and work problems and have been off work for a while. She is very rich and has been on a project to spoil me--we have massages scheduled again next monday--I must have done something good in a past life! I do stuff to help her out with her divorce like I went to her lawyers with her a couple of weeks ago because she wanted my support and it was five hours. And also I am going with her to an interview at a school for her daugher--so I find ways to help her out and she takes me lunching and spa-ing!

BTW--there is a chain of massage places that you can get a massage for $39. It is called Massage Envy.

Anyway I am on track today as far as eating goes. Still struggling with the knee a bit.

Nina; good work with getting away from the scales--our weight can fluctuate a lot and it just doesnt work to rely on them on a daily basis. It can sap motivation.

Worlds best--I am jealous--I would love to go to a pilates and yoga class. Hmm--maybe my friend can take me! Good job with the plank--I remember trying that and it was painful!

aimin--great job--wow to fit in a size 11 at target. That must feel really good and motivating!

Have a great day all!

Okay didn't make it to the boards yesterday, very very busy! But glad to say I lost 0.4 pounds. After my bad days though I am just happy to have a loss. I am not going to adjust my ticker until I get to 147 officially. I have been feeling great since my diet is off of the high fat and high sugar crap. Hot tea in the evening has also been holding my cravings at bay which is great!

I love massages and told my DH that is what he should get me for valentine's day instead of spending that much on flowers. He is very tradition though flowers on birthday, anniversay, v-day, and then once a month for kicks. I love him for it. His mom taught him well! The funniest thing ever was one day is was July 30 and the forgot flowers so he brought me home a pineapple at 10pm at night, it was the closest thing to a flower he could find. He cracks me up!

Congrats to all of those who have lost! Keep up the great work!

Scales...smales I keep mine a bit higher than the doctor's so it is alway a nice surprise to see my real weight there

Sno: Great you are back on track! You have been such an inspiration and motivator for keeping up with your program and starting the threads! I you will make your goal for your trip! Sounds like alot of fun!

aimin4thin:
What a great feeling to fit into skinny jeans! How weird is it that I am sorta excited about going to buy a swimsuit this summer....hahahaha

worldsbestmom5: How long do you hold the plank? Do you do it more than once?

Default Plank

The torture seems to go on forever , but I am sure we don't hold it too long but we do it over and over again.

Well, now that they day has gone on a bit I am sore in my upper arms and across my back. I did some stretches and feel better. I am heading off to the gym soon. No plank today. I did do 2 earlier to show my buddy what she missed out on this week.

I also have to walk across campus. Good for me, but I forgot to do this and now the day is getting late. Gotta run!

Hi there Chicks,

Hope you're all have a great weekend The snow is still flying here and it is oh so cold!!! I'm still crosscountry skiing daily and am up to about a 12 km run now and the knee is feeling pretty good. Weight loss is looking pretty good for this week as TOM finally came.

Aimin I bought the official weight watcher scale but it only measures weight but very accurately. It is bang on with my doctors scale and it cost about $80 canadian on sale.

Dolly your DH sounds sweet. Mines alot like that as well. Glad that scale is starting to move in the right direction again The plank is one of those killer moves that looks so simple untill your 10 seconds into it. I go to this amazing abs and back workout at my gym and the instructor uses very creative variations of the plank that can bring tears to the eyes.

Keep up with those workouts WBM5. whenever you feel a little pain in your muscles you know your increasing your muscle mass and metabolism

I've been feeling pretty good and have stuck with my diet changes dilligently.
I'm missing coffee a little but surprisingly the have no more dairy, wheat or sweet cravings. In a couple of days I'll reintroduce them (except sugar) slowly and see how things react. I off course know the sugar thing gets me every time.

Cheers for now,

Nina

Well Monday is off to a great start! Did my workout at the gym and ran farther than I ever have before. I want to sign up for a 5k run at the first of March, but dont know I will be there yet. I really want to do it, but we'll see. Eating was great this weekend right up until and hour before the SuperBowl. Way too much pizza, soda, and then ice cream. I am back on track today though! Planning on having a salad at lunch today and then cook something healthy for dinner tonight.

40, I hear cross country skiing is quite a cardio workout. Pat on the back for you! The closest thing I can get to that is the elliptical machine with the arms at the gym. No snow in Texas.

Well, I made it down to the gym this morning to weigh in, and I'm down another 2 lbs! Feels good, since the scale didn't budge for me last week. But the week before I hadn't been feeling well, so everything tasted yuk (a term I am borrowing from my 3yo LOL). Which meant I wasn't drinking water (cause it tasted yuk) and did a lot of snacking on different things (hoping to find *something* that tasted good) But now that I'm feeling better and my taster is working again, I'm drinking my water and sticking with my planned meals and snacks, and not grazing in the kitchen.

Except yesterday. Ugh. I had to make a beandip to take to my FIL's party, and the kids wanted to stay, but hubby was planning to go straight to work. Anyway, I stayed at the party, and all the guys were inside watching the game, so no room for me inside...so I sat outside with the aunts- you know, where the food was. And I tried to stick with celery sticks, but the hot links and the fried rice were too tempting. I think I did ok, but it's hard to tell because a lot of it was just one chip here and another there- but over the course of about 4 hours.
