Default Friday

Hello everyone--thanks for the great posts--it really helps to hear how everyone is doing. I snuck a peek at the scale this morning and I was down 6lbs! Hope that stays thru monday. I packed on about 12 lbs from Thanksgiving thru December so this is just water weight. Still it makes me feel like I am on the right track and doing the right things.

I have been drinking tons of water and it makes me feel really good--100oz or more. Also the regular walking and stretching is wonderful. The last few days the winds have been so strong and cold that my face feels mentholated for an hour after I come inside. It feels invigorating!

Looking forward to Mondays weigh in!

Welcome to ogibson and Nikki! we have so many cool people on this thread! Newbies--make sure you are on the list--cut and paste and add yourself to the goals list. Also set your goals for how you want to eat, exericise and change behaviors and let us know what you are doing--it is really powerful to write down how you plan to change and also keep us posted on how the changes are going.

Luxor--you are really working hard on making this happen for you--good luck with the cake--sometimes aromas are so tempting.

Dolly--I really think swimming is great and so relaxing. I have been wanting to get back to that but it has been cold around here!

congrats to everyone for keeping to your plan and posting and letting us know. And congrats to card cubb and miafluker on you scale victories!

Lets keep it going--we can do it for sure!

Have a great day and weekend--any exciting plans for the weekend for anyone?

hey Snow, I just saw you are in Santa Barbara! I lived there (well, Goleta, technically) for a couple years while my hubby was at UCSB

Y'know, before Christmas, I was doing my shopping, and in all the catalogs I got, I found clothes that I loved- but of course they didn't come in my size. So, I clipped the ads, and put them all together in a file. Anyway, today it hit me that I could totally look at the ads in a different way- instead of saving them as kinda like a "if only" list, I decided to put them together in a collage with the title: INSPIRATION....and I put it up in my closet next to my mirror, so I can see all the pretty clothes that are in my future and be inspired to keep with my plan to get there quickly

Evening chicks,

:welcome to everyone new. Mia, Sno, Card, on your scale victory.
I've had another awesome day. Ate 4 small meals and workout for an hour and a half today. I'm pretty sore all over but this can only be good as it means I'm building metabolism boosting muscle. I've peaked at the scale and I'm down a couple of pounds. Staying motivated is pretty easy right now as there are no distractions.
Sno passing up banana cake . Good for you. See the scale down must really help avoid temptation.
Luxorbea your motivational collage is a great idea. I think I'll give it a try. Hope it helps you with the cake.
Cubb congrats on your weight loss. Sometimes it's not how much you but what that makes a difference. I've been really trying to include healthy fats in my diet. I think it helps with belly fat.
Dolly I'm wishing for the sun but hope to be bathingsuit ready by the time it comes. The rowing machines give a good total body workout. I've tried them a few times and would like to include them regularly as I'm getting a little bored of the ellipticals. I'd like to try a spin class as well.
Have a good weekend everyone and to all. Staying on plan through the weekend can be challenging.

Nina

Hey everyone!

Snow, I hope your knee heals up quick for ya.

I managed to make it thru yesterday without any cake (luckily for me, my daughter wanted an all white cake, I don't know that I could have resisted chocolate frosting ) There is still some left, but I have a bit of a cold so I can't smell it so it's not even tempting

Here's hoping we all have a terrific weekend!!!

I had my WI this morning and after two days on a strict phase and one horrific bout with hot lemon water last night (I skieve lemon), I had my hopes up. Until this morning my TOM said "SUPRISE!". Regardless, I am down 3 lbs and almost lost all of my "feast" weight. Also, I'm 1 lb. away from my lowest weight so far and that made me happy

Grats on the cake Luxorbea, I don't think I could have resisted, even if it was white.

And grats on the weight loss Truelies...Bad TOM!

Welcome Kate from London Ontario, I too am from London Ontario (What are the chances of that?!), well just outside of London now as of a year ago! Why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself and what your goal is and how you plan on meeting it. I, myself, am 37 years old and a SAHM to a beautiful 2.5 yr old girl. I would like to lose 60lbs and if I could do it by my birthday, Nov. 10 then that would be thrilling. My DH and I are seriously thinking about having another baby though so I'll give it a go for as long as I can anyways.

As for me, I know I shouldn't be doing this but I stepped on the scale again this morning and was down another lb. I am going to try and stop scale obsessing until my official weigh in on Monday (which just happens to be the morning after my first big challenge...dinner at the Keg!)

Have a good weekend all.

hi everyone i found this free site that let you create a model of yourself and dress it up at the weight you are now and then you can change it to your target weight to see how you would look. I dont know how accurate it is but it was kind of fun here is the site mvm.com just add the www. to the front of it

Okay, scale says 210 but it is a really off day. The kids have been off school and they are staying up all night. We had a sleep over last night and I had girls giggling until 4:30 in the morning. I had a migraine, didn't want to cook, had a horrible day at work. Ate cheezies, chips, crackers, A&W. I am kicking myself today. Oh yeah and a fight with DS. All in all we are going to pretend yesterday never happened. I just hope my scale is as forgiving. So I slept from 5:30 pm last evening until about 9:00, then was up until 7:30 this morning and slept until about 11:30. So I am tired, cranky, still have the migraine and want to shoot my children. But I have only had peanutbutter toast today to attempt to make up for the near binge like eating of yesterday. Some days you should just stay in bed.

mia - wow, that is a great weight loss. I know my scale bounces around alot too. Hope it is a real loss.

dolly - way to go on the dinners. It is always good when we can overcome our greatest weakness.

Cubb - all weight loss counts, even water. It is now amazing to me when I see how much water I was regularly carrying around without even knowing it. I am from just outside Winnipeg. We are the same age and pretty close to the same weight. I'll be 38 October 27, and am sitting around 210 right now, we are the same height too. Kinda weird. I scale obsess all the time but I've learned to take it with a grain of salt. My weight fluxuates and I just have to deal with it. I look for a high weight and try not to go above that. good luck at the keg.

ogi - welcome aboard.

lux - Excellent work resisting cake, doesn't taste nearly as good as fitting into that smaller size anyway. My daugter lost 20 pounds with ddr. so good luck.

nikkii - wow, that is great!!! It is so nice to know that you are getting closer to where you want to be. And 1 pound from your low weight that is just fantastic.

sno - way to go, 6 pounds is great!!!!! Sorry about the knee. Hope you feel better soon.

40 - way to keep it up!!!!

kate - welcome!!!

Well off to read or sleep or just drag the kids out of bed in retaliation or something. Maybe just sit around and not move for a while. Hope you are all having a great day.

Okay just at the inlaws today chilling and talking with DH's grandpa. This morning I made him the greasiest breakfast ever and he was so happy. I made out with an eggwhite omelet w/ tomatoes and ham. Had a salad for lunch with chicken, avocado, and beans. Tonight we are all going to the Country Cafe and let's just say it is what we would call "Down Home Cookin'" Since tonight is my planned slurge meal for the week I think I am going for the chicken fried steak. It has been raining all day so haven't been able to get outdoors and walk. I did walk out to the barn to feed their animals and collect the eggs, which by the way I won the fight with one chicken who is trying to roost.

card: You can get past yesterday, you are off on the right foot so far this morning.

mia: I have been to that website and it is wonderful!!!

Cubb & truelies: Congrats on being down another pound!

kate66: Come and join this is a great group for support!

Luxorbea: Great job on avoiding the cake, I am trying my best to avoid peanut butter cookies on the counter right now.

Sno: Take a day off, you have been going at it strong. Your knee just needs to recouperate

40: You are doing so good, you are motivation for me!

Evening Chicks,

Posting in the evening is really working for me. It keeps me motivated to stay on plan all day.
Sno sorry about your knee, hope it heals up quick. Rest, elevation and ice work wonders and are still a regular part of my routine and it really keep things under control so I can keep up with the workouts. I still can't walk, run or do any impact exercise. I wish I could send you my eliptical machine cause they're awesome for knee problems.

Sounds like a good chillin out kind of day Dolly. Enjoy your meal

Card I am soooo ready for my kids to go back to school . I've gone to bed before them every day this week and last night had a housefull of 17 year olds until 1am so I know where your coming from. It sounds like you had your hands full. I almost always binge if my sleep is out of wack so I'm trying really hard to keep it a priority but it just doesn't feel right going to bed before the kids. They've been doing this to me for a couple of years now especially in the summer so I've learned to do what I have to to stay healthy. Hope tomorrow is a better day.

Welcome Katie from London. What are your plan and goals. I'm from Guelph Ontario not to far from you and Cubb.

Luxorbea congrats on passing up the baking.

I was pretty busy today. Made it to the gym this morning for half hour of cardio and leg workout. It was really busy with everybody getting into their new years resolutions. to make it through the rest of the weekend.
