Challenge within a challenge:

Hi girls (I'm pretty sure we're all girls, if not sorry and please correct me)

I am proposing a new challenge to you all.

Set (1-3) new goals each week and make them smart goals.

S- Specific
M- Measurable
A- Attainable
R- Realistic
T- Timely

IE: This week I will drink more water turns into:

This week I will drink:
8 glasses of water per day

or

This week I will eat better turns into:
This week I will limit myself to 1500 calories per day (or whichever way you are tracking your diet)

DOH, Pizza's gonna burn!

OK the Pizza didn't burn, so to continue:
My goals this week are:

1) Drink 6 of my Rubbermaid waterbottles full of water each day until Monday
I chose to say it this way because I usually drink my water out of this bottle and it is bigger than a normal one and it makes it a very easy goal to measure.

2) Monday (done), Wednesday and Saturday, work out at the gym for at least 1 half hour. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, walk around the lake. (I live on a lake that takes a half an hour to 45 minutes to walk around).

3) Using Fitday, track all of the food I eat and stay below 1800 calories every day until Monday.

Welcome aboard Kiki!

Congrats on your weight loss Luxorbea! Half a lb down is better than half a lb up. It sounds like you made some really good choices at dinner, but reading your post made me hungry!

Congrats to you too on your loss Snow. I must say though, spending the day with a friend's divorce lawyer has got to be about as much fun as hanging out in an ice cream shop while on Atkins.

Good for you for setting some goals Mia! I hope you have a great week!

40- We got that freezing rain too...bleh! I'm just glad I didn't have to be anywhere on Monday morning.

Congrats on your lb down Card! Sounds like we are all having some very similar results this week.

Good luck all!

Default Tuesday!

Hi all:

great idea Cubb--you are on, I like the specificity of your challenge.

Okay--I will drink three liters of water a day.
I will walk 30 minutes a day except Sunday.
I will have 1500 calories tomorrow and eat low carb Thurs-Sun.
I will take my new fiber supplement daily.
I will meditate 20 minutes a day.
I will stretch while watching tv everyday.
I will ice my knee every day.

OK- Whew! Ok, goals for the week. I am game. It is time to step it up a bit although it is painful for me to even say that after that evil, masochistic workout diva Karen Voight put me through my paces with her 58 minute cardio circuit last night...Have any of you done that? Brickin Brutal!!! Geez! I still can't walk properly today. :/

This week, well for the remainder anyway, I will add a 20 minute workout every morning in addition to my hour evening workouts and I will drink 8 glasses of water every day. The good thing is, that I calculated that I will be at my goal weight on April 27th...130 pounds!!! Here I come. So a friend of mine and I scheduled a celebration (healthy) lunch on that day. There is extra incentive!!!

Hope everyone else is doing well. Thanks for the encouragement. Don't burn the pizza, Cubb! Thanks for the challenge! Way to go at dinner, Luxorbea. YAY Snowbrocade!!! Glad to have someone working on the same goal I am!!! Welcome Kiki!

ok, here is my one goal for the week (I'm a slow starter in case ya didn't notice LOL)

I will do stretches every morning BEFORE I turn on my computer)
(lately I've been feeling all tight and sore in the mornings and don't get to where I can walk without limping until I do some stretches, which I put off so I can check e-mail and then I get distracted LOL )

Next week I'll set 2 goals and so on

Thanks for the added challenge, I'm ready to get goin!

Evening Chicks,

Kiki. Like you idea of a weekly challenge Cubb. I'm up for it. I'll go for the water this week. My goal will be to drink 3 litres of water per day.
I'm fighting a cold so have cut back abit on the workouts but hope to be back at it tomorrow. I'm going to hit the feathers early to kick this cold.

Night all,

Nina

I am going to set some unusual goals for myself this week, but until I resolve some of my stress problems weight loss is an up hill battle that I am losing. So I will put out at least 2 resumes this week. I will have a serious conversation with my kids about respecting adults and thinking before we act. I will clean my house every night this week, so there is not an overwhelming amount of housework to do on the weekend. There, tidied up Monday and Tuesday, so that part is good. I have a staff meeting tonight so that will be the kicker. I have no sweets or salties in the house (only because I ate them all last night) so I can't stress binge after that, because I will not go to the store.

My director actually put a note in my file about my attitude problem. Which is unbelievable, even my supervisor was shocked at that one. But she did promise me a glowing reference when I say something about my director's menal health which will get me fired.

My son is in trouble at school again. What else is new. They don't even phone me anymore, he has to tell me. There is more attitude packed into that scrawny little 14 year old body than in the rest of the household put together. If I survive the teenage years it will be a minor maricle. Thank goodness I only have one boy, girls are hard enough but boys are just plain weird.

Well off to wake up the kiddies and get to work. I will not tell my boss she is a nut, I will not tell my boss she is a nut. Hope eveyone has a great day!!!

Well shoot, my knee is hurting this morning. I guess I will have to not walk today--we'll see. I think I will ice it and try a little walking and if it hurts then stop.

Have a great day today everyone--I have kept up with my committments so far!

Card--good luck with the nut. I have worked with nuts before--one time when I was waiting tables I had a boss who used to follow us around and tell us if we didnt move faster we would be fired. I used to dream about turning around and slopping him with hot soup. But I determined I would not let him drive me out or to do something unprofessional--I would leave of my own accord when I had another job. It worked--I did get another job and left with no notice.

card, I hope your day goes well

snow: hope your knee feels better soon

I'm having a humdinger here- it seems like my kids woke up this morning with the intent of driving me crazy And they are doing a great job! And I am just physically drained, which usually means my TOM is just around the corner (altho I just had it 2 weeks ago!!!)

Then there is drama with this game I play and the people I play with...and it's making the game not fun, which sucks because I just spent more money to upgrade the game to play with these people....ugh. Just one of those days when I just wanna crawl back into bed and start the day over. I just need to stay out of the kitchen and I'll be good.

Default Save the children fund

I have a fund I call Save The Children Fund. Its for when my kids drive me crazy. I use the money on me to save me from killing them. You just have to think when you spend a little on yourself it is from such a fund. I also take donations but so far no one has felt bad enough for my children to donate. I need to be meaner.
Well, I am off to yoga... another Save the children activity!

Default My first time!

I thought I would share the first time with everyone.... 3 pounds!!!

I am so happy. That's a lot of butter! I was being really hard on myself for eating more than I should and the some of the wrong things. Plus not working out as much as I had intended, but my body wants to do this with or with out me! I know it wasn't just water weight either because I lost 11lbs about a month ago, so I am getting down to the fat.

I went to Yoga today and afterwards I did 1 mile on the eliptical. It felt good. I have decided to do the mile everyday after class especially if I don't don't water aerobics.

Back to work. And more water! also snack time!
