  • Ho chickies..no exercise today Rheumitoid was very bad as its storming rain and damp here ...anyway stayed on track with food and water ..hopefully i will do more tomorrow to make up for today. Cant wait till monday to see if I lost ....
  • Well, I didn't make it to the gym today The kids and I have been trying to sort through their clothes to make sure they are all in good shape and actually fit. I think my son grew again, he only has 2 pairs of pants that fit Lucky for me, he likes shorts, so even when it is cold (well, cold for us here in California LOL) he prefers shorts. Gives me some extra time before he needs them. So, we finally finished that task, I decided that getting that done was priority #1 today. Tonight we have a dinner party to go to at my hubby's aunt's house. I'm hoping she made her fruit salad, as everything else is not going to be so good for me.

Card- I'm sorry about your migraines, sounds like you've been haivng a rough time of it. I am very much looking forward to sending my older kids to school on Monday!

Dolly- sounds like you had a good day, hope you enjoy your dinner
  • Migraine is getting worse. I am calling to make a doctor's appointment on Monday, this needs to be taken care of. I didn't weigh myself this morning, but I feel thinner. I was low on calories yesterday, but one day shouldn't slow down my metabolism. Today I am going to eat 3 meals, clean my house and get outside to see if that helps with the migraine. Oh yeah, and do laundry, my dog still hasn't gotten around to doing it. Put the dog in charge and nothing gets done. And the dish fairies didn't magically show up because I am not well, so I have loads of them to do as well. All in all it will be a busy day migraine or not.

dolly - sounds like you did great. Making the food and then making different meals for yourself is often difficult. It is something I am struggling with. Now I eat whatever meat I have prepared since I rarely fry food, and then add a huge salad instead of whatever else the rest of the family is eating.

kate - and a 3 year old. You are my hero. I could not start over again to save my soul. Teenagers are just too emotionally draining. All of the angst and anxiety. Wow you are a brave woman!!! I have a 16, 14 and 12 year old, and they are driving me to an early grave.

40 - I am so glad someone understands the kid thing. Yes I love them but they are driving me crazy. I had one wake up at noon, one at 4:00pm and one at 5:30 pm yesterday. Thank goodness school starts soon. And it wouldn't be so bad except they are all so bored they are fighting with each other.

annie - sorry to hear you are having a rough day. As long as you keep your eating on track you should do just fine.

Lux - sounds like you had a busy day. I have a 14 year old son who is down to one pair of pants and it is winter here. I just bought him clothes in September, but he is growing like a weed. So I know what you mean. and boys are so hard on clothes, there is never any knees left in his pants.

Well off to clean, and eat breakfast. I hope you all have a wonderful day.
  • Sunday!
    HI all:

wow--what a treat to read so many posts--it is so good to get to know you all: your stressors and your plans and successes.

I had a rest day yesterday and plan to have another today--the knee is a little better but still sore and I am also fighting off a cold. Robe and pjs and a novel--lots of herb tea.

My dog and hubby are going to their agility club this morning so I will have some quiet time which is nice.

    By the way--what is SAHM?

truelies--good job on the weight loss--I usually put on a few lbs when I get TOM--you are lucky!

kate: hope to hear more from you about your diet exercise and behavior goals!

cubb: I know it is hard to stay away from the scale--which is okay when it is going down but when it fluctuates then for me it can affect my morale.

card: sorry about the migraine--that sounds really tough--particularly with a houseful of kids--just a question--doesnt peanut butter affect migraines? You might search on the web for foods that trigger migraines--tho you have probably done that already.

dolly: hope you enjoyed your splurge meal--you deserve it! and congrats on winning the bout with the chicken--they can be formidable!

nina: thanks for the thought--I hear ellipticals are great--I dont have room for one or the money but maybe later--what brand do you use?

annie: sorry your rheumatoid is acting up--that sounds painful.

luxor: nice to get those chores done--I cleaned my own closet a few months ago but it is going to need it again soon--I am waiting until I lose few more lbs so I can get rid of too large clothing I am already selling some stuff I dont wear on ebay.

card: I know--my dog doesnt do a good job with the housecleaning either. In fact her hair causes extra cleaning--my hubby's promise to help keep the house clean when we got a dog is not panning out--I found a huge clump of hair behind the door that I missed the other day--sigh! Good luck at the MD--hope you get some answers!

Have a great day today chickies--and good luck with that scale tomorrow--it is the last day of our first week and we have 17 weeks to go!
  • Hi everyone! I had my official weigh in and lost 1 pound this week. I had a few slips with the few leftovers and I managed to lose the couple of pounds I gained over the holidays before New Years chimed in so I'm happy. I actually drank three glasses of water yesterday which is unheard of! I hate water and have tried all types of things over the years, but I had such a hard work out yesterday that I just sucked it right down! It even tasted good!
  • Well today is the start of a new week for me and I'm hoping I do better than the last week.
It took me a while to get myself on track but I'm getting there.
Today is Weigh in day and I have lost 1 pound so that's better than nothing.
I need to get back into my exercise routine though, it's summer holidays here and the children are home from school so I just haven't sorted my routine out with the kids being at home.
I finally seem to be getting my food under control so that's a good start.
Will be away for ten days from Wed and won't have internet access for that time so won't be able to post but hopefully will have a good loss to post when I get back.
Keep up the good work everybody
  • hello again everyone,

i plan to start ww(not join a group, but follow the program from home)...am currently "watching" a couple of 2007 starter kits on ebay...but as of now i am not following any particular eating plan...just lots of veggies, 2 pieces of fruit and low carbs...but think i had better start journalling the meals in order to keep track...
i am going to excercise a mininum of 20 mins per day (yesterday i did a pilates dvd for 40 mins)...
i've been following this system for the last three days...an odd side effect ihave is that i am edgy...not from hunger...think i miss the sedative effect that i get from carbs...
    i appreciate all the welcomes...

    thanks,
    kate
  • Holy cow the skirt fits!

I've got dinner with the girls on Wednesday (and of course they're all beautiful and thin) and was going to head to the mall to do some shopping because I'm sick of not having anything to wear but I decided to try on an old favourite skirt of mine first and it FIT!

I'm sure all I've lost so far is water weight so I can't believe that I'm seeing a wardrobe change already, talk about encouraging. Can't wait for tomorrow's offical weigh-in.

Kate: Holy cow we are full of coincidences aren't we. I think we were meant to be buddies.

Chaarli, Stopeating: congrats on your weight losses! (sorry if I missed anyone else, I'm in a bit of a hurry tonight).

Snow, Card and Annie: Hope you feel better soon and Snow, SAHM = Stay at home Mom.

Dollypie: You go girl, hope you enjoyed that meal, although I'm not sure what chicken fried steak is but it sounds yummy.

Card: Hope your migraine is better and I had no idea I would run into so many Canadians here, this is very cool.

40before40: Nice to know you are so close too! Guelph is just a hop skip and a jump from here.
  • Hello..congrats on getting into that shirt
had a great day today did my exercise and ate low car and drank lots of
water ..This evening I have been going to the washroom alot..hope Iam not coming down with what my poor mother is just getting over
anyway you guys are wonderful.. I dont know how you mention all the names and refere to them all. after a while I know I will get the hang of everthing ... I do have a question..is there a way that you dont have to make new trackers all the time> is there an easy way to change number???
    thanks in advance Annie
  • Hey Chicks,

Gotalove those kind of days Sno. One of my favorite fantasies is booking myself into a hotel for a weekend with a good novel and nobody to bug me. It's not the same when you have to relax because of an injury though. I can't remember the name of my eliptical but it's a club quality machine I paid abou $900 for. I think your best bet for exercise equipment is to buy it used. It's alot cheeper than new and often barely used.
Card if only I could teach my dogs to do housework. I do get the kids to practise though and maybe in a year or two I won't have to go around after them and redo their work. Oh well!!! They do try.
Hope your feeling better Annie. Arthritis can be such a bummer.
Cubb congrats on the skirt I'm noticing some changes in the way my clothes fit even though the scale is moving slowly. All the workinout is tightening things up nicely.
Katie sounds like a good plan with a good mix of goals.
Charri, Stopeating, one pound lost is one pound closer to the goal. Congrats on the lose.
I've had a pretty good day. Took the day off from the gym and ate fairly lightly so hoping for a good weighin tomorrow. Spent the day shopping with a friend at Ikea. Went out looking for a milk frother and came home with $200 worth of other stuff. Got to love those Jan. sales.

    Good luck tomorrow morning,

    Nina
  • Hi everyone! I weigh on Sundays so I just wanted to post my results. I am down 1.4 lbs but I didn't record points everyday so there is room for improvements.

I hope everyone has great WI's tomorrow! I will check back!

Sorry I couldn't write more now!
  • I had such a busy day today! I forgot that my brother & sister were coming over with their families for dinner, so after church I took the kids out to lunch (I didn't order food, but shared with my 2 yo) my goal for today was just to eat less & better than usual, which I did.

After lunch, we went to the gym because it was nearby and I might not be able to make it tomorrow. checked the scale, and it said 290!!! that's a 4.5 lb loss since the first of the year!!! After the gym, I remembered the dinner plans and stopped at the store, came home & hubby & I made dinner. whew. They just left and it's time to wind down and get the kiddos to bed. School starts tomorrow, so things should be getting back to normal in the next few days.

Annie- you can change the numbers on the tracker without creating a new on- when you go to edit your signature, look at the coding for the tracker, it will say [img] then a bunch of stuff, somewhere in there is a set of numbers like lb/299/175/290 The first number is start, second is goal, third is current. Just change the current number and you are set. Hope that helps a bit

This group has been so great at keeping me focused on what I am doing, thank you all so much!!! (oh, we had tacos for dinner, and I only had 1!!! Major victory for me! LOL)
  • good for you bridget!!!! wow I have lots 3 pounds this week and feel wonderful also ... its so motivating .... thanks for the info I had wrked that out and changed my ticker.. for tomorrow .. di dnot think anyone would see it tonight ,,hahaha this is what happy looks like
