  • chr1st1na, I only change my ticker when I weigh in on mondays
  • My week started off slowly but I'm getting back into it now.
We have The Biggest Loser Australia screening here at the moment and because it's on daily it's really motivating to see the results.
I'm not getting as much exercise in at the moment but hope to get things back on track soon.
I've reworked out my food plan so we will see how it goes with weighin on Monday.
  • Hi all,

This is my first time ever posting here but I just started a serious weight loss program because I have a beautiful bridesmaid dress sitting in my closet and I need to fit into it by the end of May. Actually, I plan on needing to have it taken in by the end of May!

Anyways, I saw this challenge and thought it was perfect so please count me in!

  • I didn't have a chance to weigh myself today. I woke up late with a migraine and still had to go to work because we are short staffed. So I did not eat much, I am slowly learning that food does not help the migraines so there is really no point in stuffing my face and making myself feel worse. I didn't walk today but considering how terrible I feel I am forgiving myself for now. As soon as I am back up to par I will be exercising, but I really need a break from work to heal up and can't get it just yet. Yesterday I did very well with my eating and so far today I have been great. I hope this pays off even though I am not exercising.

dolly - way to go on getting to the gym. I couldn't do it, you are my hero. I personally think thinking about exercise counts. This is obviously my biggest downfall.

annie - glad to hear your mom is feeling better.

sno - see stomachs are already shrinking, we are going to do it this time. great keeping up with the exercise and the healthy eating.

aka - slow and steady does the trick, even if you miss by a little there is alot of weight gone in the long run. Welcome aboard.

Christina - congratulations on the job. I move my ticker when I really feel I have lost the weight, because my weight tends to fluxuate by 5 pounds or more.

Lux - I hope you had a great day. It sounds like a nice break for you.

chaarli - glad to hear you are getting back into it.

cubb - welcome and good luck.

Well off to make dinner. Something horribly fattening and awful for the family and a nice salad for me. Then if I feel reallly motivated maybe I'll actually do a little housework today instead of sleeping.
  • Well hello everyone .. I cannot mention everyones name or I will be here all night Mom is feeling better ,thanks for all the comments ..her and DH had french fries for supper ,and I almost ate some ..It was really hard to stay on plan ..But I have to remember that Iam the one with the problem and no matter where you go ,there will always be these kinds of food in our face. But only we can decide what goes in our mouths. Anyway got in my exercise and feeling good about not cheating water water water
  • hi everyone i managed to workout and now im exhusted how is everyone
  • Evening chicks,

I'm posting at the end of the day today to make sure I can say I've been good all day. Evenings are my downfall and I've stuck to plan all day. I'm starting to want to stray but haven't. No matter how much healthy food I have in the house I can always find or whip up some naughties if the cravings overcome.
It's so true Annie about the food always being there and learning to overcome bad habits is the key here. Glad to hear your Mom's recovering.
Welcome Cubb and tracy. Lots of support and motivation here.
Card I hope you start to feel better. It's sucks when you have to work when your not well. I have to do it all the time and definately a draw back to being your own boss.
I've been to the gym everyday this week . I did 45 min. interval cardio today and an Ab/back class that was a killer. I'm hoping to do weights tomorrow if my mucles have recovered enough. I'm pretty sore today. I'll be thinking of you Dolly when I jump out of bed without hit snooze.

    Goodnight all,

    Nina
  • Thursday!
    Hi all:

another good day today--I was in a rush this morning to get out of the house and I just picked up some turkey and cheese from the fridge and ate it on the fly. Good thing too because my friend had a coffee and some banana cake for me and I was able to refuse the cake.

Did my 30 minutes walk and stretch today. feels good to make my health a priority.

Dolly: I use the prepackaged vegetable mix from trader joes. I add browned steak or chicken, onion, fresh ginger, jalapeno, cilantro and some soy sauce. And a smidge of sesame oil. It is very popular at my house.

Christina: great job on the weight loss! and good luck with the new job. Sometimes having a new job and being on a diet really work because you come in with not eating any of the rich food they have--I learned saying "no carbs" really works at work and pretty much eliminates all the treats they have there.

Luxor--for sure chasing after a bunch of young children will burn the calories!

Chaarli: good luck with the new food plan--let us know if you have some good tips!

Annie: yes yes--exactly. My hubby was chowing on saltines tonight and it made me want to scream and grab the whole bag. But food will not solve my problems--it will only make them worse!

Cubb! Tell us what you eating, behavior and exercise plan is?

Nina: great job--I know how evenings can be. I try to floss and brush my teeth after the evening meal so I will be less tempted.

Well our first week is almost over--we are doing it!!
  • My scale says 212 this morning. I really hope that is a real fat loss. We shall see. I went to bed hungry last night. I had a cup of low calorie hot chocolate because I was just starving and I wanted something sweet and I wanted to eat. But I resisted. Thank goodness it is Friday!!!!!!!!! I will be walking to work this morning because I feel a little better.

annie - Great work on resisting french fries. After a while you really don't miss them so much. I notice now when I eat high salt, high fat, greasy foods they don't taste as good as they used to.

mia - keep up with the workouts it is the key to weight loss. And I really understand the exhaustion.

40 - I know what you mean. It is very hard in the evenings. Last night the kids were arguing, dh got into it. I just wanted to curl up with something chocolatey and salty. I am also a boredom eater. So way to go!!!!

Sno - way to go!!!!!! Banana cake is a big temptation. And still keeping up with the exercise. That ticker will be moving for sure this time and those pants are going to fit. I am thinking about moving some of my skinny clothes out of storage and hanging them in the kitchen, maybe that will give me a little more motivation.

Well off to get ready for work. I hope you all have a great day.
  • hello everyone i stepped on the scale this morning and it said 225.5! i have a digita scale and the numbers are always going up or down so i got back on and it said the same. I'm thinking that i would weigh again tomorrow and see what that says before i change my ticker
  • Good Morning Ladies,

Decided to spice up my routine the morning and did the rowing machine. My forearms are killing me and I am pretty sure that my back muscles will be sore tomorrow. So I was thinking as I was rowing along this morning and I think I am going to start swimming again the summer. I took a swimming class about 6 years and dropped twenty pounds just by swimming alone. So summer hurry and get here.

Also can I just say that I have cooked a healthy dinner for three straight nights. That is a big accomplishment for me. I am aiming for a goal of 5 nights a week. Trying to get DH to eat healthier too.

Mia: I have a digital scale too and I weigh myself three times and take an average. Some days it actually says the same weight three times, but is is usually off by half a pound to a pound

Sno: You are doing so great! Exercise everyday and passing up the temptations! You really inspire me to do the same.

card: Great job on the loss! When I am hungry at night I do the same with hot chocolate or hot tea. I lose my appetite for food when I have something hot to drink!

40 before 40: Way to go on being good ALL day! That is the key right. I also understand about being able to whipped up something unhealthy like cookies. I try and keep any unhealthy food on top of the fridge, being 5'3" out of sight out of mind. In the pantry I hide the cake mixes and chocolate chips, and sugar so I don't see the temptation when I go to cook dinner.

annie4atkins: Glad to hear you Mom is doing much better! As for the fries I always limit myself to about 3 or 5 five of DH's McDonald fries and savor every minutes of them. I don't waste my time on the other, McDonald's truly has the best fries. I have to live the rest of my life this way I can enjoy a few fries with my salad right?

    Cubb:

chaarli: The biggest loser is a motivating show to me. Seeing people workout so hard makes me workout even harder. I remember when Jillian was on the show she told the players not to hold on the handles while on the treadmill. That was me, so now I push myself to pump my arms.

Luxorbea: That is interesting about that woman and her plan of action. I am sure she will succeed because of her support network.
  • Hi all and thank you for the nice welcomes!

Well I'm kind of pumped because I stepped on the scale this morning (even though I wasn't supposed to until Monday) and it said I have lost 4 lbs already! I'm sure it's mostly water but it's still a great boost.

Snowbrocade - I am basically counting calories really, using Fitday which I just love. I am trying to eat an even mix of fat (limiting sat and trans), good carbs and protein. I'm trying to keep my metabolism pumping by eating light snacks in between main meals and eating my full daily allotment of calories which right now is 1900. Seams really high to me but I'm not going to mess with it if it's working. I'm also working on increasing my calories in the morning and afternoon and decreasing them in the evening.

As far as exercise is concerned, I am going to try to start with walking and would like to be able to increase that to jogging. I really enjoy biking too but even though it hasn't snowed yet where I am in Ontario, it's a little too chilly for that right now.

Card - nice to see you are feeling better and congrats on the weight loss!

Mia - congrats to you too!

Dolly - I too would like to see my DH eat better. He does when I cook but I can't vouch for anything else he eats.

  • Hi everyone I hope i'm not to late to join in. I'd like to lose 25lbs by may good luck everyone.......
  • I've been doing well with my eating, but today is going to be tempting!!! My 3yo daughter got it in her head that she wanted to bake a cake with me today...so, right after breakfast we baked a cake and it is sitting in the kitchen as I type. I'm not going to frost it until I'm ready to serve it....luckily I have a couple extra kids coming to play today after lunch, so I'm hoping they will eat some of the cake, and maybe I can pawn some off on their dad when he drops them off LOL If I can stay away from the cake, it will be a major victory for me!

I got in a great workout yesterday, plus finally took my car down for an oil change (only 2 months overdue ) And for dinner I sauteed some mushrooms and garlic in a little olive oil and had those with a little leftover chicken breast.

And yesterday, my hubby picked up an adapter that will let me plug in our Playstation 2 into the spare TV, which means I can play Dance Dance Revolution somewhere other than the middle of the living room LOL (I'm not so coordinated, and can't stand for people to watch me )

I just love hearing how great you all are doing, resisting temptation and finding ways to get the exercise in!! Keep it up!
