I impressed myself with that ....
Wow Kerry! I am impressed too! I would never have the willpower to do that. I am a chocoholic! Kudos to you. By the way, I loved the logo.

I can not believe how many posts there are in this thread now. I read them this morning and I think they have doubled! I love the idea of wearing something red. My teenager loves those rubber bracelets. I may have to go steal one of hers. She will never miss it. She has about 50 of the things. LOL.

My must have foods:
Ezekial bread
Edamame
Planters Heart Healthy Nuts
Tons of fresh fruits
Low fat mozzarella cheese sticks
Fiber one cereal (I crush it and use it in the place of bread crumbs in recipes)
Omega 3 eggs
Flaxseed
Fresh spinach
Walden Farms no cal italian dressing
TJ soy and flax tortilla chips
Weight Watchers quesadillas
Tofu ( I have an awesome recipe for chocolate pudding that uses it.)

Hello Ladies....Well, here I am. This is the worst part of the day...1 hour left to go in the work day. YAWN ! ! ! Is everyone, did everyone have a happy Monday?
A few things that have been going through my head today:
  • my tax "rebate" has not hit my account yet
  • I have to go to dinner with my roommate and a friend of hers....I've never met the guy and have no idea why I have to go, but I will go and I will live.
  • What's the point of caffeine free Mt. Dew?
  • Can I fit all of Jillian's workout on 3 x 5 cards to take to the gym with me?
  • Why didn't she think of putting the workout plan on 3 x 5 cards? it would have been most usefull.
  • How can I plant flowers around the tree in our front yard? The trees roots are so shallow I'm afraid if I dig I will kill the tree.
  • Could my hip possibly hurt because of working out? If so, is this the first physical activity injury I've had in 20 years? SHUT UP ! !
  • Does anybody really read this stuff?

Ok, that waisted 8 min........maybe another cup of hot tea.

WKgirl - Who are you rooting for? I think I saw you are in Canada?

Vanetta - I read your post...so someone is! I got a kick out of the random comments/thoughts of the day.

Everyone else - I'll try to jump back into conversation tomorrow. I'm getting off of work and going to watch the Cardinals play baseball tonight. And I even get to wear RED!

Have a good evening/night everyone. I'll keep you all in mind tonight so that I don't let you down by eating those oh so yummy ballpark hotdogs!

I love homemade hummus. I remember the first time I made some, I messed up and put curry powder in it. It tasted like deviled eggs. I don't like eggs, so I didn't eat it, but everyone else loved it.

Wink I'm late! I'm late!

<she said as she careened around the corner, panting>
Okay, I'm here! Wow, you guys have been busy! I really need to play catch up here!

1. What would you like us to call you?
Kat, Katrina, whatever, just not late for supper...
2. What eating plan are you using?
Weight Watchers for the umpteenth and LAST time. Core, mainly, but I still count points. Old habits die hard.
3. What is your favorite way to exercise?
I like to shake it up, but try to walk daily so I'm "covered" if I can't do anything else. Step class, swimming, hiking, yard work.
4. What is one area of weightloss that you struggle with?
Falling "off the wagon," staying there and turning it into a self pitying binge. I'm working on getting right back up and moving forward with no regrets or self recrimination.
5. What is one area of weightloss that you excel at?
Knowledge. I know EVERYTHING there is to know about losing weight. Practical application of said knowledge needs work!
6. What is your short term goal?
To be at least 10lbs lighter for my birthday, 7/3.
7. What will you reward yourself with when you reach that goal? A decent bathing suit!
8. Best weight loss tip?
Stay the course. Don't let a slip up ruin all the good you have done. Stay focused and positive.
9. Bob or Jillian?
I have no idea! Never saw the show, but always meant to watch... when does it start again?
10. Tell us a little about yourself!
Let's see, I'm 50 years old, married Mr Right 25 years ago (officially so in July.) We have a 22 yo daughter, a 17 yo son and a 9 yo chocolate Lab named Molly. I've struggled with weight most of my life, have lost and gained 100s of pounds! For the past nine years, I've worked the night shift, and managed to pack 30 more lbs onto a body that could ill afford the extra baggage. I recently started a new job, I'm back in the daylight, which I am loving, and have lost 24 lbs since the beginning of the year or thereabouts. Time to kick this process up a notch and lose the rest!

I am really looking forward to this challenge and can't wait to get to know everyone!

GO RED TEAM!

I went bead shopping and there are some BEAUTIFUL red beads out there, I got a really great idea for a really pretty bracelet that included those magnetic beads so you just wrap it around your wrist, no clasps needed. But those magnetic beads are black, I'm gonna look online for red ones! I saw premade bracelets with different colored ones but no red. BUT...those would be pretty dressy and would cost about $7 each.

Or, there were some really sparkly pretty red beads, that would run about $3 a bracelet, nothing fancy just a single strand of red beads. So I dunno. Thats just what I found out so far!

Holy S*** ya'll talk a lot while I am at work. Well it's not day-end yet but it's 4pm and all I have left is dinner, so I just wanted to say I am completely OP today!!!

I ran OUTSIDE today in our neighborhood for the first time - amazing! I ate a few bugs, and almost broke my ankle on some rocks out by the gas station but all in all it was a decent run (with walking in between when I thought I was going to fall). 3 miles in total. Not too shabby. I really suck at pacing myself if I am not on a treadmill so the first mile was like 9 mins or less and I got tired fast but I trucked along. Then I came home and turned on the on demand exercise stuff and did my girl Jillian's new video 30 day shred and it was super fun and challenging. So I got in 60 mins of exercise today, woo hoo.

I am off to do a quick shower then run to the grocery to get some produce and then get my kiddos from daycare. I am feeling great today and I know the scale will love me tomorrow. I just want to focus on one day at a time with the OP stuff cause I know if I get ahead of myself I will stumble.

I am still back at page 9 so I will catch up later tonight, but I wanted to share my great day so far with you guys!
