    2. What eating plan are you using? I'm going to do The No S diet this time (no snacks, no sweets, no seconds except on "S" days- which I will limit to Saturday OR Sunday - not both.) http://www.nosdiet.com/

    4. What is one area of weightloss that you struggle with? consistency, self-sabatoge

    5. What is one area of weightloss that you excel at? Once I get into a rhythm I do really well.

    6. What is your short term goal? To get under 200 lbs!

    7. What will you reward yourself with when you reach that goal? I have my eye on a Vera Bradley bag- or just a nice big red purse, LOL.

    8. Best weight loss tip? PORTIONS.

    9. Bob or Jillian? I really like them both for different reasons.

    10. I'll turn 39 in June. I am mom to 4 kids- almost 10, 7, 5 and 3. This is my year to lose the weight once and for all! I'm on a quest to be "fit by 40!!"
  • I'm so excited to be back on the RED team. This is a wonderful bunch of ladies, and I'm excited to get to know all of the newbies!

    2. What eating plan are you using? I have read several books that are similar. I'm doing a combination of those so I guess my own plan. I am not eating sugar (ideally, when I do have a tad bit of sugar, I can't control myself and go WAY overboard), eating 100% whole wheat carbs (no white carbs), limit starchy foods, eat as many veggies as possible, healthy fats (olive oil, etc). Since my high cholestrol test results I am also eating red meat only once a week or less.

    3. What is your favorite way to exercise? ZUMBA!! Which is a latin dance inspired exercise class for anyone who's never heard of it. You will hear me reference it often!

    4. What is one area of weightloss that you struggle with? Emotional eating and moderation. Technically that's 2 things I struggle with, but they go hand in hand for me.

    5. What is one area of weightloss that you excel at? I am very faithful with attending my Zumba class. I have been doing better at exercise in general over the past few months.

    6. What is your short term goal? For this challenge I would like to lose 15 pounds.

    7. What will you reward yourself with when you reach that goal? Probably a new outfit or a pedicure.

    8. Best weight loss tip? Slow weight loss is weight loss. Don't fret if it doesn't come off as fast as you would like. The slower it comes off, the greater the chance you will keep it off. When you take the weight off slowly, you have more time to make those healthy changes long term.

    10. Tell us a little about yourself! I am a 36 (to turn 37 in a few weeks) singleton with no children. I have 2 dogs who I adore. I have 2 jobs which I don't adore . I put on weight while working a particularly stressful job (which I no longer have). I have tried to lose weight for years and am finally to a place in my life that I am succeeding. I am naturally shy.

    8. Best weight loss tip? Keep anything you have issues with out of the house.

    10. Tell us a little about yourself! I'm a working artist in Chicago. I have 1 husband and 2 cats. I've been obese since I was 19 (that's 15 years folks) I've lost 100 pounds this past year, and only have about 50 more to go. I can now run for a flippin' hour too.

  • It's so great to see our Red team back at it! Welcome BL newbies! This is an awesome team and I just know we are all going to rock it for the next 15 weeks!

    So my family is doing a weight-loss challenge for the next 15 weeks before our August family reunion so I am extra motivated this time! We have a $1000 pot with half for a total points earned by doing various things (fruits and veggies, sleep, exercise, limited treats, etc) and the other $500 for the person with the biggest percentage of weight loss! I'm excited- not only for me, but for my sisters and brother who also could stand to lose a few lbs- I will honestly be happy for any of us to win it and hopefully we'll all be healthier and look better in the process.
    Anyway- so it's game on! for me this time so watch out! LOL

    Muse, can you tell me how many miles are in each activity during a Triathlon? I think I should like to do one some day. Jess is going to air up my bike tires so i can start riding again, and once I can ride without stopping, I am going to ride it up to the GYM sometimes (3 Miles), do 3 miles on the TM, and practice on my swimming. I can barely get a mile in swimming right now.

    BTW, You totally inspire me!

    3. What is your favorite way to exercise? Tricky - I love exercise, but fav would be spin class, kickboxing, or playing with my boys

    4. What is one area of weightloss that you struggle with? lately little cheats turn into 3 days of little cheats

    5. What is one area of weightloss that you excel at? Exercise and journaling

    6. What is your short term goal? To stay OP for 30 days. I guess I also want to lose 15 lbs this challenge.

    7. What will you reward yourself with when you reach that goal? Clothes, I have lost 72#s and haven't hit goal so I haven't bought any clothes so I am down to 3 pair of pants. LOL

    8. Best weight loss tip? Get out there and move. It doesn't matter what and it doesn't have to be in a gym, just move!

    10. Tell us a little about yourself! I am 30 year old with 2 boys, 10 and 8. I was diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroid last summer and with my resting glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure so high I had to gain control of my weight. I tried for a long time with about 1.5 pounds a month gone, went to the doctor for help and started MRC after Thanksgiving. All in all I have lost 72 #s and I am soooo close to goal. Originally I thought I would stop at 160, but now I would like to be 150 and tone up!

    My boys keep me super active. I love that I now have the energy to be with them and help them in the stuff they want to do. One want to run a "grown up" 5k. I would love to see him do it at 10! The other plays football, basketball, baseball.....anything with a ball!

    I work from my home designing wedding albums and editing photos for photographers. I love it!

    3. What is your favorite way to exercise? My favorites are karate, kobudo, and walking.

    4. What is one area of weightloss that you struggle with? I struggle with cereal. If I bring it in the house I will eat the whole box. Lucky Charms is the worst LOL

    5. What is one area of weightloss that you excel at? I'm getting better at choosing the right foods when I shop.

    6. What is your short term goal? Lose 30 pounds for this challenge.

    7. What will you reward yourself with when you reach that goal? I will make a special trip to NY to train with a weapons master.

    8. Best weight loss tip? Never eat carbs/sugar without protein.

    10. Tell us a little about yourself! I just turned 42. One of my long term goals is to not be overweight by the time I hit 43. I'm a computer scientist who sits at a desk all day -- I put on over 100 pounds sitting at this computer . I love martial arts and have incorporated my karate and weapons into my daily workouts.

  • Hello my wonderful Red Team Buddies! Wow, we're already 5 pages into it, in what, one day? LMAO! Way to go Red Team, just like us to burst right into this challenge! I am Soooo happy to be on the Red team again and to get to know all of our "newbies".


    1. What would you like us to call you? Melissa (Mel or Melly is fine too since our fierce leader is also Melissa, just PLEASE don't call me Missy....YUCK) LOL

    2. What eating plan are you using? WW, have lost 36lbs so far, so it's really working for me and i'm sticking to it!

    3. What is your favorite way to exercise? I do many different things when it's nice out and I have the time. Cardio Kickboxing, Gym (weights, elliptical, arc trainer), bike riding, hiking, walking, turbo jam DVD's....etc, etc, etc,

    4. What is one area of weightloss that you struggle with? making sure to get in all 5 of my fruit/veggie servings and my 2 healthy oils every day!

    5. What is one area of weightloss that you excel at? Exercise, Planning, Journaling.

    6. What is your short term goal? Onederland! Only 11.6 lbs to go.

    7. What will you reward yourself with when you reach that goal? Not sure yet, but something good!

    8. Best weight loss tip? Plan, Plan, Plan....especially if you have a busy schedule, failing to plan is planning to fail! Another very important thing to remember is "This is not the last supper!" It is very important to keep in mind that if you really enjoy what your eating, you can eat it again another time. YOu do NOT have to eat it all now, like it's your last supper. YOu can eat again tomorrow. You can eat again at your next meal.

    9. Bob or Jillian? Hmmm...that's tough! Bob is sooo cute but Jillian is one tough cookie. Can I have both?

    10. Tell us a little about yourself! I"m 34. single mother to one DS, almost 12 years old. I am an Elementary Special Education Teacher in a Social Emotional Behavioral Support classroom. I love my job, although very challenging some days, it is very rewarding and I wouldn't want to be doing anything else right now. My hobbies are singing/dancing/theater....when I ever have time to myself (probably not for another year since i'm back in school for my masters) I enjoy doing musical theater. I have performed in about 20 musical theater productions in the past, danced since I was 2 1/2 years old and started singing when I was 13 years old. I love it! I also sing back up for an Elvis Presley Impersonator for extra money a few times a month! It's alot of fun! DS keeps me very busy, he plays soccer, basketball, baseball and does BMX racing....so I am ALWAYS running him to a game, practice or race. I have been with my wonderful DBF for a little more than 3 years and he has 2 DS's 5 and 12 years old. I love to be outside, the ocean, hiking...i'm a nature girl! I haven't always been overweight. I was always thin and fit when I was younger, after I had my DS the weight just slowly crept on until I was surprised to be almost 250lbs. YIKES! I've done WW a few times and the last time I lost about 30lbs but shortly after, (October 2005) I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Needless to say it was a very trying time, I under went 2 surgeries to remove my thyroid and am cancer free. I did gain all my weight back, plus 10 more lbs. This time i'm doing WW with my mom and we've been doing really well. I will reach goal this time and keep the weight off for good.
