Oh.. oh! Here we go!

<- I love the dancing carrot!
1. What would you like us to call you?
Rach is good! I get called 'hey you' just as much these days!
2. What eating plan are you using?
For the first time in my life.. I'm writing down what I'm eating... and actually measuring out the food that I'm eating! I suppose it is a way of Calorie Counting.
3. What is your favorite way to exercise?
It was spooning fuud into my mouth... but that has got to change. I like playing DDR, and walking the long haul to the university. I would ride my bike.. but looking at the uphills... yeek! I don't know that I'm ready for that yet, considering that I'm one of those sweaty messes.
4. What is one area of weightloss that you struggle with?
Eating... eating way too much at one setting. It's as if I'm never full!

and always too hungry! I try to do the be good thing.. lots of oatmeal and veggies, but I even eat too much of that.
5. What is one area of weightloss that you excel at?
Staying away from french fries and hamburgers - and all that fast food. Greasy fast food just doesn't really interest me. There are no potato chips in my house, there is no deep fryer in my house!
6. What is your short term goal?
I'd like to lose 10 pounds. If I ever got in the 170's.. wow.. it's been a long time since I've been there. My long term goal would be to lose 30 pounds.
7. What will you reward yourself with when you reach that goal?
Wow.. I haven't thought about that. *scratches head* Maybe something small and new for my computer?
8. Best weight loss tip?
Oatmeal. Not that stuff that's loaded with sugar and junk in a packet. Oatmeal, no sugar, a few raisins, and some nonfat milk. Keeps you going all morning.
9. Bob or Jillian?
*falls over* Heh.. never watched the biggest loser (Is that what they are from), but heard stuff about it.

I unfortunately often don't get home in time to watch mainstream TV. Maybe that's my problem - all the late nights at the orfice.
10. Tell us a little about yourself!
I'm 29, single, and a grad student in engineering (not to mention the biggest nerd). I guess I'm unusual for the job, in that I do not consider myself particularly smart -- just rather fortunate and blessed to be surrounded by some of the most intelligent people in the world. I'm coming around the bend in my PhD program.. I maybe have 1.5-2 years left before I graduate (I hope). I just walked in the Relay for Life - my mom has stage 4 cancer, but has been managing it fairly well for the last few years.
I enjoy fixing computers, being goofy, laughing, and telling a lot of these kids that they are very capable of making it in college. So many of them have been bashed down by professors, other students, and themselves.

If I can make it in school, I think that 99% of people can as well, if they have the time to dedicate to it.. (and if they cut down just a bit on the alcohol-related activities during the week.) I'm actually teaching my first class during the end run of the activities this year, so maybe by the time class ends, I'll also have lost a lot of weight!
-Whew! Didn't mean to write a book!
