Hi Gals ~

I have just been hanging around the house today. Trying to get Stevie Wonder tickets that didn't pan out. My son was on his computer at the high school he teaches at, his wife on hers at home, my brother at his and me here. None of us could get through. No matter the request any of us made, the answer always came up...searching...that option not available ~ over and over and over. Oh well, it would have been cool to see him, but the tickets did start, the cheap ones, at $98.00 and that was without all the services charges and fees. So, we saved some $$$...we'll just throw a BBQ and put on one of our Stevie Wonder CD's!

Thank-you for the prayers and asking about my daughter in law's father, here, in other threads and the PM's. He is still in a coma, still concern that if he does make it that it won't be good, still a lot of questions. from what I have last heard, once he starts to come to a little he throws such a fit, with the tube in him, that they have to put him back out. Confusing. My son and daughter in law came home yesterday from Florida. They start teaching their classes on Monday and really need to be there the first day if possible. They have been in their classrooms most of the day setting them up since they missed last week with DIL's dad's situation.

My daughter and her husband should be getting home from their week in Michigan, either tonight or tomorrow. of course they go back to work on Monday so I may not see her until next week-end...DANG!

I have been doing really well on my treadmill. I have pretty much done a 5K or more each day. I have lost 6 pounds since 7/23! I have over 40 miles on the treadmill or walking Reba and Rylee this month so far.

Well, Angie needs to use this computer for some reason...something going on with hers. I will be back to post as soon as I can to you...

Gary

Hello Everyone,
This will be kind of short for now. My brother called from MO. and my younger sister had to go to the ER this afternoon. I don't know what is going on except that she just started shaking all over and her face was twisted, according to my brother. She is the one who is taking care of my Dad at her house so this is pretty scary. I sure wish this house would sell!!

I'm glad that everyone liked the "Older Than Dirt" quiz. I just thought it was kind of cute.. Bobbi I guess your questions have already been answered about it. Lynn, I remember going out to get the bottle of milk and it would have already froze and busted! More than once that happened!!

Zoe, I hope you are feeling better tonight.. Don't take any chances with a fever that high!

Lyn, Loved the pictures of your flowers and your cat.. We had a pure white one like that a long time ago who adopted us--- we named him "Nothin'" He was such a good cat and slept with our yongest son all the time.

Hi Gary, Good to hear from you again. I'm sure things will be fine and look forward to hearing more from you. I wish there was better news for your DIL Dad. I will keep him in my prayers.

Well, Everybody I missed I'm sorry and I will try to get back to you. I will try to let you know what is going on later after I find out anything.. I HATE being about 900 miles away!!

Take care

Hello Everyone, I just talked to my brother and he said they have my sister on an IV of Adavan ( I don't know if that is spelled right or not) but it is to help stop her shaking and they are going to do a CAT scan. I don't know anything else at this time but will keep you posted on what I find out.

THERESA ~ The pictures are cool! Thanks for posting them. So glad yopu are near your goal.

MARYLYNN ~I hope your family night went well! Sounds like fun. Angie and I did a marathon in 2001. It was so much fun but a lot of training and it sure took a lot of time! We walked over 400 miles in training...I miss the fun of it, but I sure don't miss those 19 mile practices that took all Saturday! we have considered it again. I am only 4 days away from the 10th anniversary of my first 5K. Enjoy your training!

KAREN ~ Has it stopped raining yet? Burgers on whole wheat tortillas huh...I have been doing that a lot lately, even using flatbread. I don't think the calorie count is much less than my wheat buns but a nice change. Yep! I am older than dirt ~ Loved it! Angie doesn't have to watch over me on the treadmill anymore She just puts my beer in the gym, when I go in to get one after work she slams the door and locks it...doesn't throw in another one until she hears it running...with my feet pounding on it...for an hour!

Angie just called for dinner....be back...

Zoe, your chair sounds like my recliner in my living room......I cuddle down in that chair and just fall asleep.....I am taking that with me when we move! You sound better but take care, please.

Lyn, the picture are great....love Morning Glories....have a great vacation.

Yes, Cat I agree it is hard to answer and keep up with everyone but I give it a try. I do enjoy reading all the posts.

Karen hope your sister is OK, that is very hard being so far away. I know, my sis is in Seattle and when she had breast cancer surgery I flew out to her....I couldn't stand not being there for her.

Gary, sorry there is not good news about the your family member. But your children are home safe and he is in good hands. Thanks for the apology about the name business.....and also with your "golden girls". I accept your explanation and feel the subject should be dropped. Congrats on the 6 lbs.

I must confess we went out for ice cream tonight....I know....BAD BAD BAD! But we did get small and fat free.........I think the devil got me tonight! lol

Hi Again,

My sister just called me and she is back at home. The IV they gave her was to hydrate her but they did give her the Adavan to stop the shaking. They did the CAT scan, kidney test, and blood work and the Dr. said everything was fine. I just don't quite understand it. She said she was really scared and that my Dad started crying when she came back in tonight. So she is going to sleep downstairs in a recliner next to his for tonight. He hasn't been able to sleep in a bed pretty much since his heart surgery. Just says he is more comfortable in the recliner. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that still don't know what happened but she is back at home.

Have a Good Evening.

Good Morning Everyone,

As Linda would say - just a quick "fly-by."

I need to do my coursework for the day & then get packed and on the road. Leaving for Wildwood this morning. I'll never get caught up on everyone's August posts.

I am officially stalled at 164 - Since the start of August. I need to go back to drinking my water and regular exercise - I'm already at low calorie level. I didn't exercise while I was in MD. Went to the gym yesterday with my Little Sister. Hopefully, I'll be able to walk the boardwalk while I'm in Wildwood.

Take care,

Lynn

Good morning everyone.
I am adding another flyby. Got lots to do today, before the heat piles up out side. forecast is 90 degrees and strong thunderstorms.

I had a nice day for our 29th. anniversary yesterday.
Spent the day with our son and his family.
We went to the Black River Farm Market. Its been put on Billboards and in the paper. When we got there…We founds out its so new that there were only about half dozen vender's there. Our regular farm market is a large place, and open daily, year around. And Better prices. Oh well.

From there we went to the local Flea Market. I should never go there, I love to collect vintage glass ware. Our flea market is fantastic for any thing vintage. Although one needs to know the value before getting there.
You should be happy to hear we did not buy anything.
We came home and had Grilled cheese sandwiches, and a cucumber salad and fruit for dessert, with the kids. Played With our granddaughter before they left for naps.

All in all it was a nice family day.

Well I hope all of you are having a wonderful weekend. Back this evening , I have grass to mow.

Good Morning Golden Girls!

We got back last night from a fantastic week - I sure wish vacations would last longer. We went to Michigan's Upper Peninsula where the weather was just perfect in the low to mid 80's and it only rained one night. We had such a good time at the beach and DH was in heaven because he could go fishing almost every morning. Those walleyes he caught were very tasty.....

I see you gals were very busy all week and I am going to go back and read all the messages later on this morning. Very shortly I have to get dressed and go out to help mow the lawn. We must have gotten a lot of rain here when we were gone because our grass is very green and tall.

Oh, almost forgot the most wonderful news - I lost another two pounds last week and now I'm down to 169!!!

Big hugs to you all - I will be back this afternoon to catch up on all your news.

Heidi

Heidi....congrats on 2 lbs. and it sounds like just a perfect vacation. I have never eaten walleyes....what a strange name! I like to fish but don't want anything to do with cleaning them.

Karen, Glad your sis is OK..I am sure that scared all of you. Could it have been stress related? I understand how hard it is to be away from your family when things like that happen, you'll get there soon...sending good vibes your way.

Lynn, loved the photos and glad you had a good time. I really enjoyed seeing the kids playing the game on the floor and them having a good time, reminds me of my growing up, we played tons of board games and basically stayed out of trouble!

Theresa, that family day is what we are missing living here in Florida and why we want to move to Ohio. My one granddaughter just had her first soccer game, we would have loved to be there. I am making a big batch of cucumbers, onion and vinegar/sugar and let them marinate.....we love those and with sweetner hardly any calories!!!!!!

Zoe, you feeling better? Hope your flu doesn't hang on too long. Take good care of yourself.

Hi there everybody . . .

Another gorgeous day is shaping up here in Atlantic Canada, athough the humidity is on the rise again, but okay so far. Hope everybody else is having decent weather this weekend, too.

Finally got around to downloading all those pictures my granddaughter took with my camera. A lot of them were just plain silly, but there were some I wanted to save and post for you to see. Well, at the moment, with my 'older than dirt' skill level when playing with all the mod-cons, it seems I can either delete everything or keep everything. Decided to put the file away and come here to 3FC for a little while. Hopefully it will be less frustrating later and I will get to do a little show and tell for you.

Oh LYN . . . I'm sorry, I think you asked me a question about Nova Scotia and I didn't get back to you and now you've left on your NS vacation. Please remind me when you get back.

Anyway, I'd better get myself moving and shaking . . . things to do and places to go again today . . . Hope everybody has a great Sunday and I'll see you all later . . .
