Hi all,
Thanks for the words of welcome. You can call me Peg. I will post a picture as soon as I figure out how to do it. I got a new camera for my birthday and I will still learning how to use it. We also have a new computer which has me going slow trying to figure that out as well, add to that this new web site. As my son said, "Welcome Mom to the new world, it is nice to have you catching up." Ok so I can't set my clock or use all the do dads on my cell phone. I can write a great letter and I know where to put the stamp.

Wow, the posts have been flying while I was sleeping!!! Personals would be a novel, I guess! I have to get in gear cleaning this house..seems that "company arrived" while I was sleeping.
When I woke up this morning, there were boxes and bags all over my living room and down the hallway. Took me a while to realize that my oldest son came home in the middle of the night..I didn't even hear him. He is at school at LSU and is moving into a new apt, but is going on a 3 week roadtrip with some buddies to California before the new semester starts, so I guess his stuff will be staying here...but not in the living room and hallway!
I just put a pot of black beans on in the crock pot and will start marinating a pork tenderloin so I can feed this crowd of people...Youngest son's girlfriend is in the guest room, so I guess it will be more for dinner. I like that. I thought it would just be my husband and I for Sunday dinner tonight when he gets off of work, but looks like I'll have 5 instead.
Hello to all the new friends and hope everyone has a great weekend.

Good Morning . . .
Weather seems a lot more pleasant so far this morning. It's still humid but much much cooler. Hope it lasts for a little while.
The kittens are driving me crazy . . . I no sooner climb the ladder and put my bedroom curtain rods back up than they manage to pull them down again. Think I'll just live with nothing but the mini-blinds for a few days in the hopes that they will tire of this new "game" by the next time I put the curtains up again. Yes, they are still biting the TP, too.
So, yes, GARY, no surprises from the kittens is a good thing . . . but it doesn't happen often.
Love the picture of the dog on the mini-tramp KAREN. I've been looking for one of those (the trampoline - don't think a little dog would be terribly happy in a house with six cats) but I'm such a klutz I figure I need one with a stability handle or something to keep me from bouncing right off onto my head.
Gee whiz, PHYLLIS. Maybe we could make a deal. I'm thinking I'd like to replace my sunroom/familyroom furniture with Wicker stuff for a change.
Hi there to both PEG and DEB. Nice to have names for you gals. As you will discover, there are a lot of us named Linda around here, so you can pretty well call me whatever you want (well, within reason, anyway ).
Big for everybody else. Nothing else is new around here. Hope you are all having a great weekend so far. Have fun, stay cool, see you all later . . .

Hello to Deb and Peg and any other new members that I missed. I am also a Linda, but to prevent confusion I go by Lily.
My diet is low carb like Lynn's (thanks for the info on the vitamins). I am carb sensitive and this seems to work for me not only to reduce my calorie intake but I have so much more energy since getting rid of the insulin spikes and drops.
The weekly weather report is 50's and low 60's for the last couple of days (thank you Margaret!). Just to let you East Coast GGs know what will be coming your way. And, oh yes, rain.
Hope everyone has a good week. I am still maintaining, but need to kick up my walking now that the weather is no longer in the 90's. I'm hoping that will get me off of this plateau. My 60th is coming soon and my original goal was to lose the weight by then. Oh well, maybe I can shoot for the winter holidays.
Have a good week everyone!

Sunday afternoon - I'm hungry
Hi all you GGs and welcome to Peg and Deb. I'm home doing the one-day prep for my colonoscopy tomorrow. On a liquid diet all day - lots of broth and jello and juice. The worst part is coming later this evening. This is my second one since I turned 45. Both my parents died of colon cancer so I am not taking any chances and am having them regularly - every 3-5 years. My DH is out of town to deal with family matters on Long Island and I am bored, hungy and lonely. I made this appt way back in June thinking my DH would be off from school and so he could take me to the hospital. Well, the best layed plans, right? Luckly, one of my good friedns is taking the am off from her job tomorrow to take me to and from the hospital. Thanks God for friends!!
I got my first morning glory bloom this morning. I will take a photo soon when more are out. Also had my first cherry tomato.
I'm not going to try and repond to everyone today..know that I read all of the posts and you helped me get through a long afternoon.
Keep posting.

HI GALS ~
A busy day around our house today, with an electrician here finishing up lights for our shuffleboard, and our guy doing doing our yard and some new plants on the bank. Keeps us hoppin' with doors and gates open and the dogs wanting to get in everybody's business.
Church was great as always, we had a little girl sing today, she is 4 years old and boy can she remember her words! She sings some pretty lengthy songs from time to time. Years ago, our church adopted a Vietnamese family, if you can remember, a bunch came over here after the war. Anyway, she is the granddaughter of that family. Way cool
LYN ~I feel your pain been there-done that! Prayers for a good report!
LILY ~Your birthday or the winter holidays..doesn't really matter JUST KEEP SHOOTING!
LINDA ~ Your kitten stories remind me of 3 years ago when Reba and Rylee were 6 months old...we were so afraid to open the door and see WHAT HAVE THEY DONE NOW?
CAT ~ Nice to have kids around isn't it? Enjoy your time with them!
PEG ~ As far as computer stuff goes ~ if it wasn't for my kids and wife I wouldn't be "here" today!
MARGARET ~ How many times ya gotta use a credit card to get a yacht?
DEB ~ There is a lot more going on "here" than recipes! Welcome.
Well ~ I THINK? I am caught up...so many posts...so little time

This is for all you dog lovers out there!
"Dogs Welcome"
A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in a Midwest town he planned to visit on his vacation.
He wrote: I would very much like to bring my dog with me.
He is well-groomed and very well behaved. Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?
An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who wrote:
"I've been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I've never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware or pictures off the walls.
I've never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. And I've never had a dog run out on a hotel bill. Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you, you're welcome to stay here too

Got room for another one?
Hi Yall! My name is Marylynn & I think I belong in here too. Wrote my intro on an intro string & still trying to figure out this website. Eventually it all comes together.
Oh boy can I understand life after menopause! I clearly remember in my twenties if I wanted to drop five or ten pounds(what a joke, now it's so much more) all I would have to do is jog three times a week & skip dessert. Now.... hmmph! I'm a fixture at the gym & there's more things I'd be better off avoiding than eating at the moment. I still have to believe that this weight will come off, with persistence.
It still makes me crazy when my husband eats over 3000 calories a day, jumps on the treadmill for a fraction of the time I'm on it & drops pound after pound.... I'm trying not to notice but hey, he's looking great!
You all seem like wonderful people, I'd love to get to know you all better.
Have a wonderful day & cheers from Mississippi!
Marylynn

Marylynn!! Glad that you came over-- sit down and enjoy! I think that you will find that you like it here.. Everyone is so supportive and friendly.
We are supposed to have two different people come by today to check out the house so I've already been busy getting things ready. Sure wish we would get a contract on it! Then I could really jump in and start packing everything up and be ready to go!
I guess I'll go and see if I can't get a WATP video in real quick and then get myself cleaned up. Take care everybody and I'll check back later this afternoon. Karen

Linda--- The pomeranian on the trampoline is Ginger-- everytime that I try to get on it she jumps right up there and won't get off!! If I really want to get a work out done on it I have to put a babygate up at the door so she can't get in. BUT then she cries! She also likes to sit on my tummy when I'm on the ab lounge!! Crazy girl!! Sissy, the other one wants nothing to do with any of it! Karen

Hi Everyone,
Welcome Everyone New.
I'm down in MD - Saint Leondard in Calvert County. Weather is sunny and beautiful - the house my niece rented is right on the Bay.
Started the morning with a bike ride with my niece and great-niece. Am at the Library - checking in on my course.
Sorry, I don't have time to chat with each of you. I AM reading everyone's posts. I hope everyone is good. I'll be home on Thursday.
Take care,
Lynn

Hi Margaret,
I wish you all the best. My thoughts are with you. Try to not "jump the gun." Take it all one step at a time.
PM me with any questions you might have.
