Default ON My Way

You are right, if its TOM then you have probably lost a few lbs and its not showing. Be really good this weekend and middle of next week you will see it!

I will keep you posted about the Slimfast thing. Its expensive IMHO, but only doing it on the weekend won't be so bad. DD loves the taste too. Bummer, but I gotta share.

Have a great day all!

Hello friends,

DMC - Way to go!! : The cardio blast is working. I knew you could do it. Good luck with the Slim Fast. How many calories are in one shake? I am thinking I could try a shake occasionally when I am in my truck and don't have access to a microwave for Lean Cuisine.

OMW - No worries, DMC is right. Eat correctly this weekend, make smart choices, and by next week you will see a difference.

Karen - Welcome. This is a wonderful and supportive group.

I need to complete some bookwork and exercise before eating hearty red pepper tomato soup tonight for supper. Be smart this weekend ladies. Make healthy food choices, watch portion control, and lets continue to do this. OMW don't eat while you are cooking for company, DMC stay away from excessive popcorn binges, keep exercising everyone, and remember to tell yourself all the reasons why you want to lose weight, be healthy and strong.

Default Not too bad!

Hi all,
Pony, no popcorn, this weekend anyway! I am an addict for sure. Someone made some at work last week and everyone came to my cubby thinking it was ME!

Okay, so today has not been awful, I have been nervous. I did my plan so far and now tonight I have a froz. dinner, side salad and a whole wheat roll. And then a snack bar. Its not horrible.

Tomorrow, same. I actually like celery with cream cheese. I usually HATE celery. Oh.. they are about 190 calories, I think someone asked me that.

Its really good, my daughter liked the premaid shakes too. I can do this on the weekends or days I am not working and it might be okay to get ahead of the game or make up for too much popcorn!

We shall see. Good luck all, talk tomorrow! Might not feel so positive by then. HA

One day at a time DMC. You can do it!

My weekend is going great. It's so good to have my sister here. I wish she lived closer! Fun evening out last night with friends. Did well with party food. Thank goodness for veggies and dip. Warm here so I'll be walking outside today for sure. Thanks for the positive posts friends! I've said it before, you guys are the best! I'll check in later.

Hey friends,

I hope you are all having a whooping good weekend. I am on call and the phone service is keeping me busy. Everytime I get ready to exercise it rings again and off I have to go....frustrating!

OMW - I know what you mean about sisters...they are the best...I think no one in the world knows you better than a sister and sisters are more honest than anyone in the world. I have two sisters and miss them greatly as they live out of state. Glad you are having a wonderful weekend.

DMC - Sounds to me like you are staying on plan pretty well as well as being a good role model for your DD.

One reason I really want to lose this excess weight is to prove to my daughter that it can be done and to let her witness how much work it is to get the weight off. Perhaps the healthy eating and exercise program will demonstrate to her how to avoid ending up in my situation to begin with. Currently she is really fit and enjoys school sports much the same as I did when I was her age. I just made bad choices somewhere along the way.

Enough lamenting....off to try the treadmill once again today....later!

Default Afternoon all

Pony, looks like you are doing a great job! Look how much you have lost - I am sure your DD is learning so much. I hope I am a good model for my DD. They really do watch their moms so closely, even if they don't want to admit it.

Staying on plan today. I am thinking about doing the slimfast thing one more day too. It hasn't been too hard. So maybe incorporate it into my days when I don't have lots of time to cook for me and prepare my lunches.

So far I have had one shake, one piece of tst with pat smart balance, two egg whites and one snack bar. Its almost 2:00 so I will probably have my other shake soon. Then tonight, a "sensible dinner" as they say.

Went to my gym class. I have to tell you, it is cut throat! I get there really early in order to get a space in the back and weights and step. If you don't get there, they run out of weights and steps and body bars. I hate that... I am always first in line and I know everyone thinks I am weird, but I want to make sure I have my stuff. I am not there to mess around! ;-)

I cannot believe next month is daylight savings. Yoo Hoo

DMC,
I have visions of you fighting over weights at the gym. LOL! Please, don't hurt anyone!!!! LOL!

I had some good news today. Earlier this month I was at my Drs. We were talking about how I was losing weight and I mentioned I was curious to see if there was an improvement in my blood work because of it. I had new tests done and got my results today. I have lowered my total cholesterol from 207 to 191 and my blood sugar went from 99 to 89. I am thrilled. It's one thing to feel it in your clothes and see it on the scale, but to actually have medical proof that I am changing my life for the better is awesome. Hope you all had a great day OP.

I too, am looking forward to daylight savings. Winter is not my friend!

Good evening BFFs,

Great job DMC for assertive action in the gym!! You made me smile and your determination inspires me!

OMW that is great news; the numbers are a scientific testimony that your body appreciates the wonderful changes taking place. You deserve much credit for taking those steps.

Let me share my latest victory. I signed up for the 3FC Valentines Day 5K. I did it today because I am expecting TOM this weekend. The last one I did on New Years Day and my time was 54.26 min. Today I completed it in 48.07 min. Yipee...improvement.

Go girlfriends...we are doing this!

Default Wow, runner!!!

A 5K! that is great.. Walking or running its great.

I am so determined to go to the gym... ;-( except tonight and here I sit looking at the clock... thinking... I could be there. Its fine. I am doing my 5 days next week and DD needed extra help with homework, so I need to help her.

I am did pretty good on slimfast this week. I really like it for work too. I had a sensible dinner tonight... and a glass (or two) of red.

Oh c'mon, I feel like I am doing much better this week. The slimfast has my calories WAY down. I love it. I hope to continue.

Where in the heck are all the BFFs???

I am drained tonight. I had 7,583 steps today when I got home and just couldn't get on that treadmill tonight so I did 30 minutes of Wii. When I do the Wii instead of the treadmill I sometimes don't make the minimum steps recommended daily (10,000). Do you think yoga, strength, aerobics, and balance combination for 30-40 minutes offsets the failure to achieve 10,000 steps? Maybe I am hung up on the pedometer thing...but usually it motivates me into treadmill action if I am low.

Breakfast - tomatoes, eggs, onions, peppers, 1/2 sausage, English muffin
Lunch - Progresso soup Santa Fe chicken
Snack - coffee with Coffee Mate creamer, protein bar
Supper - salmon, broccoli, English muffin

Default Yes - I think so!

Pony, yes, the extra Wii work counts. At least you were pooped and did it anyway.
I try to, but tonight, I let my daughters homework keep me from it. Kind of kicking myself, but do like to give her a break and an early night of it. Otherwise it seems like we are just doing her work too late.

Yes, it counts!!! Your diet sound awesome. I kind of blew it tonight, but back on tomorrow and I did very well for days now!

Tomorrow will post my menu for the day.

Pony, Don't worry about not making the steps. I think the Wii is a great alternative. It's working different parts of your body. I think it's good to change things up a bit. You are doing great and I think your ticker has moved again! Keep it up, it IS working!

DMC, Sometimes you have to put the DD first. Get back on track today. I really am hoping you will get some positive results this week. I knwo you are working hard to find just what works for you!

Have a great day today BFF's. Eat healthy, get some kind of exercise, check in here later! I'm cheering for you!

Good morning BFFs,

I agree with you DMC and OMW....kids have to come first in order for your inner soul to be clear and free. However, for me, the challenge is in planning and organizing my life to make sure I do not get placed last and then bumped off at the end of the day....thus the reason I ended up here in the first place! I am trying so hard to make myself a priority instead of the exception. Life gets so busy and we can't change that but only we are in control of what priority we give ourselves! OK, thanks for listening to the sermon I just gave myself!

Thanks for the comments about the Wii versus steps. Have a great day!!

Amen Pony! Amen Pony! We are so good at taking care of everyone else, why is it so hard to take care of ourselves?

I had a good day again today. My worst time is right after school when I get home and I want to snack. I rode the bike last night, so I will probably do the Wii tonight. I have a question about running and the Wii? Do you jog in place barefoot or do you put on shoes? Just curious!!!!

Have a great evening!
