Talking Happy Thanksgiving!

All you wonderful ladies are probably going to be busy tommorow. Hopefully I will not be, I hope for the quietest day at work of all time. I appreciate everyone of you for your support, your contributions, your lists, and your humor.

I do miss Rusty, WHERE HAS SHE BEEN?

For you wonderful ladies a few quotes and on to a Happy T-Day

If you can learn from hard knocks, you can also learn from soft touches - Carolyn Kenmore

Solomon had 300 wives and 700 concubines. But there was only 1 woman whose feet he lay, the Queen of Sheba. And she was neither one nor the other, for she was the King's match. And so fittingly, he gave her everything she asked of him and much, much, more. She in turn, gave herself to him. And thier rapture knew no bounds and thier love for each other never betrayed them.

Courage is as often the outcome of despair as hope;in the one case we have nothing to lose, in the other, all to gain.- Diane de Poitiers

The Promised Land always lies on the other side of the widerness- Havelock Ellis

Some thoughts for a thankful day.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!! I know that no one ate too much and we all stayed on track.
I had a great T-day. I cleaned and cooked all day, then I hung out with my family. I am thankful that it is over.
Where is Rusty? I miss her too. Come back Rusty.

Have a great busiest shopping day of the year!!! (They really need to come up with a shorter name for this day, say something like, ummmm.... Friday).

Good morning, buddies! I do pop in and see what you're all up to but BoxerBob has been home since Wednesday - a snow day then the holidays so I spend a little less time online than my usual 24/7. LOL

I am happy to say I walked 6 miles this week with Leslie Sansone - ate right while out with my Dad on Wednesday and only went over 200 calories yesterday. I made a couple of those WW recipe *ice cream sandwiches* with lofat graham crackers and some cool whip - frozen overnight. About 150 each and I share three with BB. Felt decadent.

I'm slowly working my way out into the real world and keeping myself on a short leash. Until now it's been fajitas with no dairy or breads or shrimp in garlic sauce on white rice and take half home.

My Dad and I hit a small diner on Wednesday and it was a slight panic situation - the menu was on the blackboard and everything had mayo and cheese and rolls. Eek. So I had one slice of cheese on a dagwood on rye - with mustard and gave Dad my chips. Whew. It would have been SO EASY to blow it and get a milkshake and some fried stuff.

Gotta run - I'll pop back later, grrrrrlz! XOXO

Snowing again here in Massachusetts - we got quite a bit on Wednesday and it's predicted off and on for the next 72 hours. Big white fluffy flakes coming down.

Here's a rare shot of me outside in the winter - Dad took it when the sun popped out Wednesday.

Making meatloaf with ground turkey today - first time trying it. Also decided that since I thawed two lbs that I'd make meatballs, too. So I had to make the sauce to cook them in - and it smells just as good as the meatloaf in the oven. Decisions decisions. One will have to wait for tomorrow.

Happy TGIF!

Hi Rusty, its been too quiet without ya!

Would love your icecream sandwich recipe, they sound like a good option. The snow looks absolutely beautiful! You're so lucky to live somewhere like that. It snows in this country, but where I live, the closest it gets its on the mountain ranges around our valley. We have to travel three or four hours to be able to play in it.
Hope you all had an enjoyable Turkey day ! Only 26 sleeps to Xmas............

Hiya Wykyd one!

I found it in a couple places - take two graham crackers, slap some thawed fat-free cool whip (non-dairy whipped topping) in between - freeze and eat!

Somebody mentioned getting chocolate graham crackers - and they are even more like ice cream sandwiches. This was another lo-cal/lo-fat treat that passed the BoxerBob test.

I used lo-fat graham crackers and they are 110 cal per 2 crackers. (Just went and made a couple more - you might want to single wrap them for portion control!

Boy, here comes Christmas!

Evening all. Rusty the pic of you compared to the old one looks as if you have loss a good amount of weight. Way to go girl. The picture was beautiful as well. The only thing that i hate about the snow is that there are others that are out driving out on it that dont repect it and casue many accidents. Ok how many of you out there gave yourself at least one treat yersterday? I let myself have some bananna pudding and I loved every bote of it. It was low in sugar and carbs so I didn't feel to bad about eating it.

Some of my Christmas wishes
1. that for maybe one day that every would just be peacful and remember the true reason for the season
2. that my child learns and holds true to his heart the real meaning of christmas
3. that no more people would have to go hungrey, cold and homeless.

Here's to a BLESSED DAY to each and everyone of you,
sandy

Glad to see you back Rusty Wow!! All that snow. I am so jealous. It doesn't snow very much down here. They cancle school for 1 inch so.... When I get old I want to retire up near you. Have the ocean in summer and snow in winter. That would make me so happy.
I did worse on my eating yesterday than I did on Thanksgiving. But, I am ok. I am not going to freak out bout one bad day. Have a lovely day all.

Default Weekend!

Hi buddies!

Made ground turkey meatloaf yesterday - changed my usual recipe a little - I made it with wheat bread, eggbeaters, dry ff milk powder/water to lighten it a bit.

I had thawed two pounds of ground turkey - so while I was covered with icky stuff up to my elbows - I used half of the mix to make meatballs. I added some Italian bread crumbs to firm it up a bit. I make them the way my Momz does - no frying beforehand - just drop them into simmering spaghetti sauce.

I wasn't sure the turkey meatloaf would fly with our tastebuds - particularly BB's - he LOVES meatloaf. He was aware of the slight difference in flavor/texture but said it was worth it to cut out lots of fat grams. With just three little changes - the turkey/eggbeaters/ff milk - we saved more than 61 grams of fat in the meatloaf!

The meatballs are tonight's supper - with angel hair. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Snowed again yesterday - the spruces out back are beautiful! Chilly tho. Nice day to stay in and bask by the computer monitor's glow! LOL

Walked seven miles this week with the Sansone tapes. My calves are talking to me!

Rusty after a while you wont even notice that your legs hurt at all after you walk. I stand on my feet all day and if I was to actually figure out the miles I walk a day I would be shocked. On the low side I would say at least 4 miles a day just while at work. When the pain premitts I try to walk at least 2 miles aout 3 times a week, that is when it is warm. When it is cold and fridgid out I use my workout tapes. Mg I know all too well about those bad days my tom is apporaching and chocolate is calling my name. Hate when that happens.

Rusty, you could also bake the meatballs. Thats what I do. But they tend to simmer in their own fat. But, I guess they do that in the sauce too. You could cook them on a rack (like a cake cooling rack) in the oven, then the juices would drain. How did you like the meatloaf?

Never thought of baking meatballs, Morning Glory! Good idea - letting them drain thru would help. I never realized that there's a leaner ground turkey, too. I saw it in my calorie counter book.

The brand I bought was frozen in a tube like sausage so there was only one choice. Do you think there's a big taste difference between that and the fresh turkey at the meat counter? (Of course, I'd freeze it as soon as I get home anyway.)

We liked the meatloaf - a lot. I liked it better than ground beef. I also liked it better in spaghetti sauce. If my body wants to put on fat - it's going to have to make it from carbos and protein - I'm not giving it a free ride anymore.

The meatballs last night were delicious - not the same as we're used to, but smooth and tasty and a real treat. Saved half of the meatloaf and meatballs for another night, too. I *love* doing that! Saved calories AND work.

I've been freezing half a pound of pasta every time I cook it - we used to eat it all - now I have a ziploc bag with another double serving for dinner - all I do is thaw a little and nuke it and it's ready for sauce.

Gigglez! You were right - today the aching in the calves and heels was gone when I got up. I did 8 miles since last Monday! BoxerBob did the last four miles with me and we're going to try to do a mile at night when he gets home from work. I think the 2 mile is too much for me to do every day so I'm starting to rotate the 1 and 2 mile tapes day to day. I'll try to get a mile in sometime during the day while he's at work - then we can do the two on the weekends together. (I'm still shocked he's getting into it!)

Hi everybody! Wassup today?

Morning/Afternoon /Evening everyone!

Well, my two pound loss is probably gone. Too scared to look. We had a fabulous sunny weekend, the first in a long time, so out came the BBQ and all the associated fat laden foods. I was pretty good on the foods, going for the lean steak rather than sausage and having the veggie salad rather than the potato salad. None of that can make up for the strawberry cheesecake or the six rum and cokes. Will walk, bike and free weight my way back to goodness this week! Hope you all are haivng a good weekend!
