  • One desert island - one year - one book - one food - one person you don't already know - one movie - no clothes. Whatcha gonna do? LOL

    HHHHHHHHMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Somewhere in the south pacific or carribean...ok one year...book...the Lord of The Rings Trilogy in one book...Person..either Pierce Brosnan or Julia Roberts...gotta have something nice to look at!!lol...one movie?? Last of the Mohicans or Dances With Wolves...whew..done..
  • Yeah, I don't think I'd want to be stranded on Iceland with Mike Tyson. Who wants to eat ears for a year?

My is;and would have to Bonaire. I've never been there in RL - but I'm there every day thru the magic of the internet!

    http://www.bonairewebcams.com/TheWorks.php

This is a hard question, if I do say so myself. Do you take a guy who's pretty or do you take a chick you can buddy around with? How about John Cusak? Smart, decent-looking, down to earth (unless he only plays that way in the movies!) (I think Robin Williams would wear me out talking all the time. LOL Hmm - there's always Sean Connery and that brogue of his. Decisions, decisions!)

Book? Very difficult to decide what would fulfill my insatiable need to read? Webster's Dictionary - I'd come back SMART.

Fantasia for my movie and my soul - music and fantasy and art.

    Hope John likes pepperoni pizza!
  • Miss Chris you are being sensible with the salad, Love salad but haven't really fixed any lately. Have you all noticed that it is so much better if someone else puts it together for you. Guess that it is the lazy comming out in me. BBBRRRRR it is too cold for me right now, why can't we be on that warn island right now. Ah to be on the beach nice warn day, kicked back sunning with a nice cold rum flavored drink. Now that would be good.
  • We are definitely NOT enjoying the January Thaw - hard freeze here and all the snow is cruddy and solid. Yech! Let's go - changes in latitude, changes in attitude!
  • Hey I am in. When does the ship leave?
  • Hey all that snow and cold is helping me burn calories! Plus the winter gear!

I guess I could always go swimming?

    Miss Chris
  • All of this snow is making me want to lay down and snuggle to keep warn. HHHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMM maybe I could get so lucky to burn calories that way.
  • Can't live without....
Russell Crowe.......Oh, I'm sorry, you meant food.....

    Peanut butter
    Shrimp
    Dark chocolate
    Dr. Pepper
    Cornmeal batter fried catfish

Since I avoid aspartame (nutrasweet) like the plague, I don't drink diet Dr. Pepper on my diet....so I just do without it and the regular one.
And I just have to go without the fried catfish while losing weight....too hard to fit in.....but I manage to work the other 3 in.

I drink one gallon of water a day.
That doesn't leave much room for soft drinks.
Sometimes I drink herbal "Sleepytime" tea at night to relax.

I use the artificial sweetener, Splenda, that's made from sugar in the yellow packets.

If I say the name of it here, it's considered advertising?
Or do they mean an actual logo, or what?
  • LOL Gigglez! I can imagine you lying there in the snow trying to get warm. I love the brisk air!

Welcome gargoyle! I drink a gallon of water a day too. I drink 30 oz. with every meal, and I eat 4-6 times a day, plus my liter when I start off work. And I know it when I don't drink right.

I have given up on pop. One of the products from my work is high FX cornsyrup. At this point I can taste the manufacturing process.

Hubby won't let me have the scale so I have no idea how I am doing weight wise. Anyone else?

I miss Lora!!!!!!!!!!!I guess that is the way of the internet huh?
    Miss Chris
  • Fun thread...
Hi everyone... Rochemist I know you from the Alternachicks forum... it seems we have a lot in common!

Ok, back to the original topic of this thread... foods I won't live without and refuse to give up:

*my favorite Indian food: Chicken Makhani with rice (butter chicken), naan, fried vegetable pakoras, and maybe a side curry dish.
*my favorite Chinese food: General Tsos chicken with rice, shrimp lo mein, crab rangoons.
*cafe latte with chocolate macadamia nut flavoring
*cabernet sauvignon... definitely more than one glass
    *any pasta dish
    *peanut butter
    *cheese
    *buttered popcorn

Ok, so I cheated a little as there are obviously more than five individual foods listed and two meals are included. But I don't believe in giving up any food I like while trying to lose weight. If I feel unsatisfied than life becomes pretty miserable. Of course the key is moderation and allowing myself to splurge every now and then.

Foods I rarely or never eat:

    *red meat
    *white bread
    *whole, 2%, or 1% milk
    *yogurt
    *potato chips/doritos/fritos/etc
  • Okay gargoyle reminded me of my dark chocolate quest
NOW SOMEONE FIGURE OUT THE CALORIES OF THIS!

    1. A bar of Lindt dark chocolate(80%)
    2. A large tub of Marscapone cheese.
    3. Half a packet of ginger biscuits.
    4. A dessert spoon of moscovano dark sugar.
    5. A large knob of butter or margerine.
    6. A round or rectangular non-stick dish or any shallow dish lined with cling film.

    1. Place buscuits in a freezer bag and beat to death with a rolling pin.
    2. Melt the butter in a pan, remove from heat and add crumbed ginger biscuits. Stir well.
    3. Push the mixture down well into your dish to form a flat surface. Place in fridge to chill for 5 minutes.
    4. Place chocolate in a glass bowl over a saucepan of simmering water until melted. Don't rush this process as over heating may spoil the texture and quality of the chocolate.
    5. Add the sugar and allow to melt, stir well.
    6. Once melted, stir the chocolate into the whole tub of Marscapone cheese, try not to eat too much of the mixture!
    7. Place the mixture on top of the compressed buscuits and chill for 30 minutes.

    Sounds good

Looks like I can eat at Sojo house too, I can live without the yogurt

We need a new list! Any ideas?
    Miss Chris
  • Chris, sounds like a zillion or so claories in that. I think that that would be a nono. DH hid my scales as well said that he didn't want to see me get on them and get upset if they didn't move. I guess that I have to go by the way that my cloths fit. If you could go one place in the world for valentines day where would you go and would you take your dh or so with you? I have been givin this some though. Maybe I will make up my mind soon.
  • I would go to Europe, especially Germany. Hunt down all my grandfathers family and hug them and tell them how sorry I am that he is gone. Feb. 15th will be 1 year since he died. And I don't think I would take anyone, I would want to make it like a quest with me walking where ever I went.

Is this morbid? Gee I hope not.
    Miss Chris
  • No not morbid at all Chris. I was thinking hard about that(I know steam is a pouring) and I would go back to NewportNews amd take my lil man(Corey) and let him see where he was born, I think that it would help him out alot. Eventhough valentines day is my anvi. I think that dh would get over it. Still no MG and where is Rusty at? Wonder if everyone got snowed in.
  • Rusty likes to lurk
Rusty's beautiful red hair and strong personality hate to take over I think thats part of what makes her so wonderful.

Gigglez I think taking someone to their birthplace is a good idea. I was born in Bangor, ME. I have never been there as an adult and would love to go. Part of the reason I love Stephen King is he gives me the idea of what Maine is like, plus people with smiling mouths full of razor sharp teeth

What inspires you? What makes you feel good? What gives you a sense of accomplishment?

Oh has anyone been watching the Dead Zone on USA besides me. I am really enjoying it!Of course I believe it is doomed cause I watch it!

Enjoying Pink's Mizunderstood to get my booty up and moving!

    Miss Chris
