I realize that this being the first day of the new year some of ya'll night be a little fuzzy, but I have a question. Has anyone else read the Jan. issue of Reader Diegest? They have a diet plan in it called Change One. I skimmed thru it and this is one of the few that is published in mags that sounds in the least bit sensible. Check it out and let me know what everyone thinks. Please! Glen if you are off today then yippee to you. Must be nice. Here's to a Happy New Year!!!!!

Twas the month after New Year's, and all through the house
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste
At the holiday parties had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).

I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt---
I said to myself, as I only can
"You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!"

So--away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
'Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie--not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.

I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore---
But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!

Chris - wowza! You're a doll - and brainz, too? What a combo.

Hey Gigglez, I read thru it, too. Good idea adding one light meal a day until you get the hang of it and then adding another. Moderation works for some people. I, however, want it ALL NOW! I see that RD offers an online diet plan with it, too - with a free week. That'll get you as far as adding breakfast to your day. Then you gotta cough up the bux to get lunch. There's no such thing as a FREE LUNCH.

Hi all. Miss Chris you look wonderful in those pic. Wish that I could even get the courage up to even take a pic. Rusty I saw about the free one week also. My idea was to keep on using it and each week use another email addy. Maybe that will work. I started it yesterday and I am goin to give it a go. Who knows maybe I will get lucky with this one. Loved the lil poem where in the world did you find that one?

Talking Is that poem about me?

I went and checked out the Change One website. It's a good idea, but for the time being I need a more radical approach. I have been losing and gaining the same 6 lbs. for 2 months. Right now I am just pointed at weighing less than 200 lbs. (If the foot has to go, it has to go )

Thanks for the compliments ladies!

So today I lay down a 7 day challenge to myself. To stay OP for 7 days straight, and then I get a free day. But it been awhile since I was OP for 3 day straight, so here I go!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

Chris, Darling, you look marvelous!!! Rusty, that poem is awesome and so right on track. It's almost like it got into my head and read all the evil things I did in the name of celebrating Christmas.
My new year has been good so far. Work slowed way down. But that's ok, I am getting some extra hours off. Won't be like this for long, so I am going to enjoy it while I can.
My daughter started driver's ed Thursday. It's actually not so bad. I think she will be the easiest.
Am still struggling to get back to work. Hehehe. The holidays have done a number on my will power. I will find it. As long as I am still trying I still have hope.
Hope this year is awesome for everyone!!!

Cannot live without:

1. Stouffer's Mac and Cheese (that could be the one thing I eat for the rest of my life)
2. Lindt's white chocolate truffles (THE BEST)
3. Taco Bell (anything there)
4. Any variety of ice cream
I guess that is it, those are the only things I couldn't live without, although Im going to try!

Talking 4 Days OP

Ways to make cabbage soup bearable

1. Soy sauce
2. Mustard-Hot
3. Wendy's Chilli Sauce
4. Shutting your eyes
5. Pretending it's something else

Now we need a list to get Lora through her daughters drivers ed.
1. Under no circumstances open your eyes while she is driving.
2. Always wear a seat belt.
3. I think they have extended helmet use beyond motorcycles.
4. Fix your car so it can only go 45 mph.
5. Pray.

So how is everyone doing? I am feeling good and strong and ready to have a huge loss in the New Year!!!!!!

Very funny Chris, but you forgot a couple.
1.Tightly clutch the arm rest. Hang on for dear life. Under no circumstances should you let go.

2. You may stop clutching arm rest in order to fling your arms up to cover and protect your head.

3. Try to keep screaming to a minimum. It tends to startle the fledgling driver.

4. Praying is good, but should be done as quietly as possibe. Don't want to lead the novice to believe you are not totally secure in their abilities.

So, I am hoping everyone out there is praying for me. With support and a little luck I will make it thru new-driver #2. Only 2 more to go.

Ooohhhh don't forget

1..press the imaginary break pedal!!
2..be thankful it's their car and not yours
3..try to believe that the other kids in the car during the lesson are worse drivers than anyone else!
