Thumbs down

Hi Buddies!

Chris - is that a new cookbook?

WWT Activated Sludge

Mmm-mmm good!

My dad - the joker - looked at that Christmas shot of me at 2-ish (?) - I'm too big for 11 months, right? - said I was looking at a piece of dog doo he put in my stocking. He was kidding, I think!

I have Black House but I want to re-read The Talisman first. My Dad didn't go for Talisman. He likes the spooky books and prefers the older SK for the most part. He loved Rose Madder though - and lent it away before I read it. He loved Carrie and Christine, too.

We swap all the books - some are the OLD original paperbacks we first shared - and there are the copies I pick up every year at the library book sale for a half a buck or so. There are always a bunch of his hardback books there. I have a huge stack of King and Bachman books downstairs in the living room - if it topples over it might cripple one of my dogs. LOL

I thought it was interesting reading the viewpoint of the character who got hit by a car in Dreamcatcher. SK had some insight there, poor guy!

There were a few I didn't read - I can handle spooky and weird but can't handle things like cruelty. I read fairly far into Misery and just had to stop when she squeezed the rat to death. I had a feeling it was going to get worse from there. LOL There was another one - Dark Half? - that started out with a torture scene and I put it away.

I like Pet Sematary though, so wassup wid dat?

When my Momz lived in Maine she corresponded with Steve a couple times - there was a character in one book called Leda and she wanted to know where he picked up the name. She and my grandmother were both named Leda.

I loved The Stand and picked up a copy of the unexpurgated The Stand but haven't read it yet. Funny how they smooshed characters together for the TV movie.

Whoops, there I go again!

Hi there girls what up? Rusty your were so cute in that picture I bet that you got your cheeks pinched alot when you were little. Chris for the ? about the rage with the ADD it is a driect result of ADD. They way in which Corey's doctor explained it to me was that with this they like to do things the same way and when someone incorprates some new way of doing somthing it results in stress which turns into rage for them. They have to have a set pattern of things and that messed it up. Just wanted to explain it a little, OOPpp better go Corey has gotten back from his Christmas at the Tiger Scouts.

My brother was diagnosed as *hyper kinetic* back in the 70s when he was in grammar school and I wonder if that would translate to ADD nowadays. They had him on Dexedrine which was supposed to damp down his inability to sit still in class, get along with the other kids, and his ANGER. His temper was scary - not often, but enough to make a mellow kid like me run for cover. The dexies worked but who wants their kids addicted to speed at 10?

If it's any consolation to Momz dealing with a wild child - he's settled down and even tempered, but still has little patience for busywork or stupid people.

Don't we all?

When I was little I remember lots of nice little old ladies (they were probably 38! LOL) asking, "Where did you get your lovely red hair?" Mother says I bowled them over with my answer, "God!" (Sounds like a Reader's Digest story! ROFL)

Happy Humpday! It's supposed to be sunny and a touch over freezing - off to have lunch with Dad - today we try South of the Border. When in doubt at these Tex-Mex places - I order chicken fajitas and skip the dairy and bread. All the other stuff is YUMMY and low cal.

A woman goes to the post office to buy stamps for her Christmas Cards. She says to the clerk, "May I have 40 Christmas stamps?" "What denomination?" the clerk asks. "Oh my gosh, has it come to this?" the woman asks. "Give me 16 Catholic, 12 Lutheran, 4 Episcoplian and 8 Baptists."

Cute joke there Rusty. Corey is on metadate and I really wasn't too thrilled about puttin him on speed at age 6 but before I made that decision I reserached and researched. From what I have found out is that the spped helps with the nerons in the brain, which helps the person to concentrate but in people that don't have ADD is would be like taking speed. As a result of my research I learned alot. But then again each and every day is a learning experience. Corey isn't hyper but his ADD is with creativity which really translates into daydreaming. He has his hyper spells but then again I think that all children do. Glad to hear that your brother is doing well. I pray each and every day that he does turn out alright. The worse thing about this is that this is passed down thru generations and I was unable to find out anything from my ex about his family mental history. How needs them if they don't care about their child right. Hey it's Christmas and I should be *****in so I'll stop it. So how did the party go that you were goin to be attending MG. We have a get together on Sunday afternoon and was told to bring finger foods so I guess that it is time to get out the tray and make a veggie tray. Maybe if I feel good enough I just might make a fruit tray as well. Oh no I think that I might be turning into betty homemaker. . Here's a new list. What are you New Years Resulations.

1. to eat more healthy
2. not to beat myself up when I fall off of the food wagon
3. to go to the ocean
4. to try to get back into the swing of the gym thing again

What about everyone else?

Merry Christmas

Hi Guys! . It's warm here(around 60) and doesn't seem like it is getting close to Christmas. Rusty I've envy the fact that you have snow and probally a white Christmas. As much as I hate getting out in the snow, it just doesn't seem like Christmas unless there is some of that fluffy white stuff around. Has every one got their shopping done and all the presents wrapped under the tress. Ok I guess that I just might be foolin myself thinking that somewhere out there there are people that are ready for this. I think that I am goin to go to Wally World to do my last minute stuff on Sunday Shoppers prepare and have your weapons with you. As Sandy is goin to go in and get out quickly. I guess that the depression has finally lifted and I am happy and giddy once again. So how is it goin with everyone?

Merry Christmas

Hi Sandy! Hi Buddies!

Kind of quiet here around the forum, huh? Maybe all the good little grrrlz are shopping and baking and wrapping presents like Santa's Helpers!?

All our snow is washed away - we're getting rain and 50s today - BUT it looks like Tuesday may bring some snow for Christmas. It would be nice if it waits til midnight or so - letting the partiers and last minute shoppers get home safely.

Hope you all get Toot's weight loss spam-free newsletter - it's a riot!

The following traditional recipe has been around for many years in various guises, but in recent years it has fallen out of favor for some reason. So let's return to a true classic dish of alternative fine dining...

"Whole Roasted Reindeer With Christmas Elf Stuffing"

The ingredients are:

1 reindeer, approx 125-175 lb, skinned, dressed (though not in a tux, ha ha) and head mounted if so desired
6-9 of Santa's elves, cleaned and finely diced, approx 8 lb useable weight
8 lb celery, finely chopped
8 lb onions, finely chopped
8 lb carrots, finely diced
1 gallon vodka to numb the elves before peeling and dicing them
32 lb dry breadcrumbs
3 gallons chicken stock
salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh garlic, 1-6 lb as desired
3-4 gallons extra virgin olive oil for basting

Saute the onions, carrots, and celery in a large pan, using some olive oil, until tender. Brown the diced elves in the same pan until lightly browned. Then mix the vegetables, elves, breadcrumbs and chicken stock, season to taste with pepper, salt and garlic.

Stuff the dressing in the reindeer, then sew it shut. To roast the whole reindeer, it is usually difficult to find to an oven large enough to do the job. So be creative. For example, prop the reindeer up on a shopping trolley, then roll the whole shebang into the local grumpy neighbour's garage and set fire to the garage. If you can keep the fire brigade at bay for 3-4 hours the reindeer will be perfectly done.

This recipe will serve 175-225 people.

P.S. Never hunt elves in the same area each year. They have long memories and won't fall for the vodka trick twice in two years.

Hello Ladies.
Sorry haven't been on here in a while. You would not believe what happened to me. I was held hostage at this strange bakery, run by women with large breasts and hips. They forced me to bake literally millions of cookies Then they forced me to eat my fair share. So, I am worn out, plus I had to leave the rest of my Christmas shopping to the last minute, despite all my good intentions. And we all know where good intentions lead.
So I am back, escaped at the last moment. Missed you all. Rusty, love that recipe. I bet it is totally lo-fat, lo-cal.

My New Year's Resolutions:
1.To lose weight, seriously.

2.Join a gym. Although after this week, I may be crippled, and mentally ill.

3.Get my children's rooms finished remodeled. Maybe start on the porch. We will just have to see.

4.Learn to quilt. Hahaha. I always want to I never do.

5.I would love a real vacation.

6.Visit my mom more.

That's enough. It's Christmas Eve. I am so excited I am about to pee my pants. I love Christmas and all my shopping is done.
Hi terminally fat!!! Welcome to the thread.

LOL Chris - Rusty just needs to get a life offline. I've been online for almost ten years and have accumulated a ton of stuff - gifs and jokes and who knows what else?! Good thing BB is just as hooked on the net as I am. We sit here side by side, day after day, clicking away and forwarding funny/interesting stuff to one another. Faster and easier to email him than to use sneaker net to send him stuff. That would entail putting stuff on disk and handing it to him. Way too much work! Our network is weird - we can share the phoneline and both surf at the same time - but I can't access his computer files and he can't access mine.

Sending all of you kwazy chicks - love and hugs for the holidays. Stay safe and warm and we'll catch you on the flip side!
