Well Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends. It isn't a very nice thanksgiving weekend however. The sun is trying very hard at this moment to peek its head out. I have my supply of fresh fruit and vegies in the house to get me through the week, I just love going to the huge farmers market that is about a 40 min drive from here but is well worth it. Have a great weekend everyone.

Hag kidnapped by Binge Demons ...
Film at 11.
Well, not really, but her experiment with no weigh-in last week, plus she thinketh too much posting online by adding the journal (possibly setting herself up for failure?) hath led Hag into a negative spiral that translated into a POSITIVE weight gain and she's now up 2.5 in two weeks, even though as with others here, her clothes are LOOSER! What's up with that?
SO, Hagometric hath been on the crystal with her attorney, who specializes in caloric control law, and lo, she saith that THERE IS NO LAW THAT SAYS THOU CAN'T CHANGE THY CHALLENGE. So Hag is setting her starting weight at 166.5 and her new Halloween goal at 164.5, which will mean she'll come in on Halloween at precisely one-half pound more than she REALLY started at but (this is the slick part), she'll be a success because she started over!!!!
Hag is now vowing to stick to 1500-1699 calories EVERY DAY (no binges) and do two exercise sessions per day. This plan WORKS, if only Hag would work it consistently.
Hagometric will update her change in the SCARY HALLOWEEN ROSTER ... if anyone else wishes a similar change, let the ol' Haggie know. She is quite depressed or would offer words of encouragement to all! SIGH!
HOWSOMEVER, the Hag WILL eventually get to her weight goal of 135. She may be quite old at the time, but she will get there. She wisheth to remind all of the 75 distinct personalities residing in her fevered brain that WE DID NOT LOSE 100 POUNDS FOR NOTHING! Sheesh!
Hag's motto for the week (idea stolen, er, borrowed from Prevention Magazine): "I will lose a pound this week!" She is posting that motto all ovr her house and has established a checklist on the memo board on her refrigerator.
Another challenge for Hag this week is to reduce or eliminate slimfast from her diet, replacing at the moment with Glucerna, which is far healthier and helps stabilize her blood sugar.
Ok, now she will go back to work! This is a me, me, me post that I'd thought should go in my journal, but I'm locking the journal. Takes too much time and I think the interaction and support in a thread is more where I should be boring people!!!!
I WILL LOSE A THIS WEEK!!!

Hag-o-my heart - I would like to share your motto - I will lose a pound this week. That sounds so deceptively simple.
Be not downhearted; you have already lost an impressive amount and helped your health enormously. I applaud your resetting of goals and may yet follow that lead as well. Weigh in Wed. should give me a sense of where I'm heading.
I'm sure someof your gain is muscle and probably a mite of water. If I'm not really stringent, I put on 2-3 pounds of water almost overnight. I've peaked at the scale twice recently and have been amazed that I've not gained despite my poor water performance and lack of exercise this past week or so. Tomorrow I tighten it up again (I do most of my "tightening" in anticipation of Wed weigh in).
I too believe in spontaneity but didn't expect to be quite as spontaneous as I was on Friday. But somehow I've seen the light about a strong point: WHEN I REALLY WANT TO DO SOMETHING, I MANAGE TO ACCOMPLISH IT DESPITE OBSTACLES AND/OR OPINIONS OF OTHERS. So I and I will be having a heart to heart tomorrow about what I really want to do with me vs. what I've been saying and telling my fellow hobgoblins I want to do.
Fashion show turned out to be a better afternoon than usual. Won a prize or two including a SCARY, SCARY basket of chocolate. When I won another type of basket as well(unbelievable), I donated the chocolate basket back to provide another prize. I did bring home for the freezer a chocolate bar that was a favor and also bought an angel food cake for dh (who naturally will share it with me).
DH has been an inspiration to me in the way he is following his very restricted (and horribly bizarre) diet.
I think the Glucerna is a great idea for keeping your blood sugar more in line, Hag. I would miss my cappucino flavored Monday morning Slimfast though. I've noted I've cut down on my use of the Slimfast meals lately though they have been most helpful when I though I might go wild bingeing. A note I'm also proud to report is that the remainder of a bag of Snickers that dh had stocked when he abruptly had to give up nuts & chocolate (& lots more) lieth untouched in said freezer. Haven't even been tempted. After much discussion, we have decided to be away from home for trick or treat night this year. This has happened only once before and was not then deliberate. I feel strange planning to be away but have decided that it would be in our best interests and that sometimes it is important to put our well being ahead of custom. I like to feel I was well represented on the treat rumor mill (always had upwards of 100 visitors) and have always enjoyed the evening. But not enough so to bring additional sweets into the house. I considered apples but the once I did that before, it was not well received. Anyway, time to figure out another way to enjoy the holiday. Possibly go to see grandkids do their trick/treating which I think this year is the same night as here. (We have the unusual custom in the township of my residence of having Trick/Treat established by the commissioners instead of by custom. It almost never falls on Oct 31 even when that date falls on a Friday or Saturday which would be great t/t nights. No it seems it must be on a school night when it does not interfere with football games, etc. This year however they have set it for Oct.31)
Anyway tomorrow is a rethinking, reorganizing day as well as a Slimfast Monday. Success, all.
Lordy, I'm long winded! Sorry.

Hello, Ladies. I am still stuck at the 184 mark. I really could use some advice on a way to get off this plateau I am on. I seem to be within this 2-3 pound range forever, or at least it seems that way. I used to have a copy of a diet that you stayed on for three days and then went off for four and it would help you drop 2-3 pounds quickly. It was called the computer diet and I really did well with it. Does anyone know of that one? I have lost my copy years ago. Well, good luck everyone. I will get off my pity pot now. I should not complain as I have lost 55 pounds so far but it seems to go so slow at times. Oh well, it did not go on overnight either. Have a good day and good luck.

GOOOD NEWSSSS!!! Bobsgal hath chased away another two !!!! Congratulations, BG, the Hag-o-Meter will tally that into the roster.
Re roster, Hag hath taken out the total pounds lost line, so's to give everyone the chance to restate their starting weight and/or goals. (It's all personal choice in the SCARY HALLOWEEN FOREST!!!)
Thanks for the support, Anagram and Hotsplashes ... Hag-o-Metric feels better and will probably go back and start up her 3FC journal again one of these days and she enjoyeth that work break and can thusly spare the thread her demented fantasy life.
Jadcie: Hag doesn't know about a quick weight loss diet, don't really believe in them. Howsomever, one healthy plan I've seen recently is the Prevention Peanut Butter Diet. It's just adding a peanut butter theme to one of Prevention's always healthy eating and moderate exercise programs. The reason this comes to mind is that during the time Hag lost 100 pounds, whenever she was on a plateau, she'd add a daily two tablespoons of peanut butter to her diet (or just add more monosaturated fat). The Prevention plan specifies four tablespoons and they have neat recipes for using this. Processed peanut butter does have a trace of trans fat in it (not much) so that should be considered (natural peanut butter does not but it's not as good, IMHO). Also, the plan specifies that you should check your cholesterol with doc before and during and make sure it doesn't go up doing this; a few who participated in Prevention's trial did, though most did not. Other than these caveats, peanut butter is healthy for most people and satisfieds cravings. This was true for me, even before Prevention thought it thought it up!!!!
Another idea is to change your exercise program. Do less or more or do it faster or slower or do a different activity. Change the amount of food you eat, what you eat, what you do all day, etc. And be patient ... it WILL pass, so Hag hopes thou won't be tempted by a quick fix.
Anagram: I like it when you write about DH's good response to his health program. This IS encouraging and everytime one contemplates a person who has made and kept this committment (sp?) it is an encouragement to all. I do agree the slimfast can be very helpful and for long periods I don't have a problem with it, but think it hath become a Hagtrigger for me at the moment. Good idea about skipping Halloween night. Luckily, my neighborhood is so strange and SCARY, no one would trick or treat here anyway.
Hotsplashes: Thanks for reminding me about the muscle ... I think I have gained some and will continue to believe it will kick into my metabolism soon!!!! Sounds as though thou had a truly healthy turkey day and will have another in moderation. Congratulations!!!
And HAPPY THANKSGIVING (retrospectively) to all Canadian challengers!!!!
Woooooooo-hoooooo!!!!
Have to really work now, traveling for three days, will check in sometime!!!
Wooooo!!!
I WILL LOSE A POUND THIS WEEK!

Good morning everyone. The sun is shinning but my it is decieving, it looks nice out but at the moment the temp is 2 or 35 and the high today will be a whupping 8 or 45 so I think I will stay in and look out. I have finally picked up the cold that rest of my family had last week so Im better off to stay out of the cold anyway.
Im hoping to get some more work done around the house before the troups all start returning from the various weekend away. It has really been nice to have just the 3 of us here. This weekend is the first time in forever that I have slept in till 8 and I did that the last 2 days in a row my body will be in shock from it. Weigh in is tomorrow and even if I don't lose I know have been staying on program everyday with no slip ups so that is good no nmatter what the scale says. I'll check in tomorrow night after weigh in. Have a good day everyone.

Happy to hear Prevention is catching up with us, Hag. My plan for today included a (half) bagel w/peanut butter for lunch with a small apple. I had seen somewhere on tv several months back that pb helps weight loss (may even have been the Prevention study but don't remember that). I am a pb lover from way back and had never given up the occasional pb treat. I get real pb cravings as well as for tuna fish (I know I'm strange). So two of my favorite diet lunches are what I plan for today and also an open faced tuna melt (half a can of drained tuna on whole wheat toast with some cheese melted on it in the microwave. Of course then I usually have that one two days in a row to use up the other half of the can of tuna (albacore).
It must be the weather, I'm really hippety hopping today and that's the wrong holiday.

Just a short note today ladies...Is actual Turkey Day today! Poor Dollar lives in the frozen north...I live in Florida!lol Just kidding...it IS much warmer here tho...hi today of 65....
Bob's gal! Congrats! I wish I could lose that much all the time! you are very consistant!~
Anagram thou art lucky to have such a good hubby and such strong willpower...giveth away a whole basket of Chocolate...you are my new idol in the choclit dept.! Good work!
Jadcie...as Hagometric Sayeth...thou hast to shake up thy routine as the body eventually becomes used to the norm and needs a shock...Stayeth strong!! Thoust can do it!
Now about Peanut Butter...lol....I LOVE peanutbutter on Ritz crackers for a snack...it also helps with the sweets cravings...and as the Hagometric sayeth...the all natural tastes kinda bland compared to the processed stuff that has TONS O' SUGAR...which I really try to avoid...I find when I buy the natural stuff and I drain off the oil and add some honey it tastes MUCH better....just take a little bit...a few tablespoons full...put it in a small container and mix it really well with a small amount of honey...then use that for the day or for the next few days....always an idea....
Anagram...I too loveth the straight from the can tuna melts...cepteth I addeth a BIG slice of Tomato before I put on the cheese!
Have a wonderful day ladies...must go a prepareth the already stuffethed turkey breast from butterball!

activate in form of water
HI all
just checking in im not sure how im doing weight wise. I ate alot this weekend....but the scale does not reflect it yet. So i am going to work out really hard this week. However im not doing step. Step killed me last week..pulled my hamstring. Oh well but better this week. Walked alot this weekend i hope maybe that is what made my weight maintain but we shall see.
Amarantha i think your doing awesome. If your clothing are lose it just means your holding on to water weight or the scale has not reflected your lose yet. Sometimes your body just needs to adjust the pounds. Go with how you feel. If you are feeling like your clothing are lose and you dont have heavy then i bet your doing everything right. Dont exercise yourself to where you hurt yourself and cant do it next week. I have done that ...so just increase your exercise like 5 more min or 10 depending on how you feel. Dont beat yourself up over 2lbs...its not worth getting down about it cause the weight will come off.
So i think im going to go up to the custume shop and see if they ahve the custume i need for holloween. Maybe wonderwoman here i come or spongebob square pants..the choices are endless..hehe.
Well i hope we all lose a pound this week! That would be great.
Sheryl

[COLOR=limegreen][SIZE=1]WOoooooOOOOOOooooooooooo-HooooooooooOOOOOooooo-Booooooooooooo!!!!!!!! Traveling but need to stay in touch with 3FC ... addicted obviously, no surprise there!!! Hagis be addicted to many (legal) things, elsewisze, why would she be afflicted with the BINGE DEMONS ... who came by yesterday to say: "WOOOOOO-HOOOO!!! But it was not so bad as last week!!!"
Scoobydooooooooooo!!! Thanks for your words, thou be wise!!! Hag really needs to keep the exercise gentle, but am really having a goal to go back to at LEAST jogwalking if not actually jogging by the end o' the year. I do feel I am doing well and know DEMON SCALE will catch up with me. At least I am stronger. Might I add that THOU, Scoooooooby, art doing fabulously thyownself!!! Step kills the knees, though (in my opinion), so thou art wise. Walking is such good exercise, bet you'll have a great weigh-in!!!
Anagram!!!! Thou dost not seem strange to the Hag ... pb and fish be yuUUUUUMY AND DELISH!!!! Hag needeth to shop this a.m. to stock hotel room with these thingies, thanks for reminder. Prevention be Hag's favorite "diet" guru ... seems to be a healthy approach with fun "diets" thrown in ... exercise moderately, eat healthy. There used to be a Prevention Millenium (sp?) Diet group on 3FC ... don't know if they are still doing it or posting ... I tried this and lost weight and it was a totally healthy plan ... but Hag doesn't really like vege, so ...
Hotsplashes!!! That's a good idea about draining the oil on natural PB and adding honey ... mmmmmmmm, Hagometric GREW UP on p'btr and honey sandwiches!!!! 'Course she did NOT limit to 4 T daily as the plan specifies, which is probably why she got heavy in the first place. I don't know where along the line p'btr turned into p'btr cups for her ... NOT THE SAME THING AT ALL!!! Hag will check the sugar in her beloved superchunky before purchasing and consider thy words!!!!
Dollar!!!! Sorry thou hast (hath?) a cold!!!! It is good thou got extra rest and stayed OP also ... likely thy weigh-in shall reflect that!! Have a great day!!!
To all Scary Halloween Challengers ... have a frightfully fun day ... Binge Demons stay away ... Binge Demons DON'T come & play ... are you gone, Binge Demons? ... YUP!!! HOOORAY!!!!
(Babette/Arabella? Be thou out there?)
