  • Fatchickbgone- ya i'm with ya on the carb thing....i couldn't go low/no carb for nothing, i've tried lasted i think 2 days

i really need to get insoles for my boots before i walk to school in them again, im in PAIN!!!! lol
  • shananigans-good job on the exercise!!

i just got back from my lifeguarding class. i had to take a swim test today that was 12 laps of continuous swimming. it's probably not actually alot but it was hard! eating is going ok, it's only the first week of classes so things haven't gotten too out of control yet.
  • Shananigans.. Great job on your exercise!!

Haley... Aww that sucks. I hate when I do really good at exercising then realize I wore the wrong shoes, or needed insoles. Hope you feel better soon.

Hope everyones week is going well!
  • Well, it looks like today has not been my best day in recent memory. I had a little bit of an emotional eating issue today because I'm nervous about going back to school. But, no real harm done because I realized what I was doing and I will be able to take that experience, turn it into a positive and redirect my energy in the future. So, I guess in the end its a really good thing!

Also, I made a REALLY yummy fauxslaw with grated cabbage (green and purple) with carrots, celery and dressed liberally with lemon juice and cracked black pepper. I really enjoyed it and will probably make some more soon!
  • hmm that sounds like it could be good
  • Im still around sorry I missed the weigh in.
I have been eating more lately as I have been pretty down. I am at 270lbs.

...............to mxgirl? i think you asked about gluten free above somewhere.......
I dont eat gluten/wheat and I am a vegan. I havent really lost weight that I can tell anyways from this. Its been a month without gluten and I wont deny that its hard. I never really feel satisfied after eating. I went through a short period of 3-4 days of immense hunger, but now I am back to a normal almost less than normal appetitie.

I really dont know what to do with myself I eat pretty darn good and I have been in the 267-275 range for a few months now. I just cant seem to get myself going to exercise. I am so out of shape it is sad.
  • Jasmine Good to see you back! Hope all is well, even if you are not doing well with your weigh ins, we'd still love to hear your thoughts!
  • Jasmine--we`ve all been there! Im on a high note right now but I always fear the time when I slip. I always just somehow expect that I`ll fail..weight loss is so damn hard! Keep with us though!

Who was it that wrote that they know New York so well?? I go in 10 days and I need some advice.
  • I've discovered some vegan snacks and I'm thrilled. There are these fruit stick things (think fruit roll up) with natural fruit juices and only 35 calories per stick, also soya chips what a concept, but my favorite is these organic oreo type cookies that were just delicious. I was starting to feel like a diet zombie. I love fruits and veggies but every once in a while a treat is a good thing.
  • Jackie.. Yeah, I think I found out too early in my vegan-eating a bunch of junk that I can eat too lol... but definitely it is important to have a healthy balance, if you don't ever eat any junk you might want to eat the whole kitchen instead lol
  • Hey girls,
I'm doing ok. My back and shoulders have been killing me, so I haven't been exercising. I need to get a massage, but it's just not in the budget. Things are starting to loosen up, so I'm thinking tomorrow I should be able to get a workout in.

Erin-What do you need to know about NYC? I should be able to help you out.

    Jill-how's McDougall working for you?

I, too, am a carb whore!! Bread is my downfall.

Jasmine-I'm sorry you're feeling down. Strangely, exercise might make you feel better. Endorphins, you know.

    Shananigans-great job on the exercise!

    Hang in there, everybody!!
  • Hey Darby, sorry about your back! You should check the college near you, they do massages way lower than regular places. McDougall is working great, after my 12 days I'm going to post what I ate everyday and stuff on my blog. I'm excited to weigh in Friday, which is nice.
  • jillnicole03-that's great that it's working for you!

Darby1-sorry to hear about your back and shoulders, hope you feel better soon!

JackieRn-whoa those cookies sound way too good i hope i never see them in the stores lol

    jasmine987-*hug*
  • Darby- Im staying in a hotel right by Madison Square Gardens. I wanted to know if there were any vegan friendly resturants close by....preferably one that might serve breakfast. It needs to be within walking distance. I can see that there are tons of vegan restuarants in NYC but I cant figure out how close they actually are to my hotel.
    Thanks a million!
  • ERIN... this might help:
