  • SummerKate... Well it is easy and hard at the same time lol, easy because I'm never actually hungry, the food is very filling, I don't have to count or measure but I do have to eat from a certain list of foods. Hard because even though I'm not hungry the food lover in me wants to still eat, but not foods that are on my list of course (junk food). I'm thinking after the first week it will get easier, and I'm really trying to push myself to stay with it for the full 12 days
Sometimes when I'm super stressed out I grab some paper and just blurt out all the stuff I need to say, usually I cry (I'm a little too emotional) and don't even over think what I'm writing, it does help. Maybe you can try that. Then you can just rip it up after a couple days so no one will ever see it. Or another thing is there is a lot of free online diaries you could sign up on and write your stressful things, then maybe take a hot bath with some good music and a candle!

Haley... How was your lentil soup? I made some the other day and didn't like it too much. I actually love Progresso's Lentil Soup and I wish I could have that recipe. lol
  • i really liked my soup. i cooked it for 6.5 hours on low and i love the texture.
  • Over here I've got some yummy cold soba noodles with dressing and some pumpkin seeds for texture. Yum! I'm really in love with pumpkin seeds lately, I love the crunch so I stick 'em in everything! I'm thinking dinner is gonna be a reallly big salad with some beans on top and some fruit on the side. What are y'alls favorite salad dressings?
  • CookieQueen-my favorite dressing is balsamic vinaigrette and i also love pumpkin seeds!
  • My favorite dressing is Goddess dressing by Amy's organics I think, so good, but high cal, grr. :-)
  • My favorite dressing is Kraft Asian Sesame Seed.
  • Hey everyone!!!
...not so good day today. It won't stop snowing, and I won't stop eating (candy)!

I just started a new blog: www.5hari.blogspot.com, but I can't put it in my signature for some reason.

Hopefully I can keep up with this blog and take some pretty awesome pictures of what I eat!

Hope everyone is having a happy monday!!!
  • I have that one, it is tasty
  • mxgirl.. I see your blog in your signature, super cute heading!
  • Lol Skinny Teen, thats the dressing I had on my noodles this morning! I make alot of dressing with Vinegars and Oils, so I'm always trying something new, but I just can't replicate that sesame one. So yummy!
  • Thanks! I'm glad it worked...I'm so blog-dumb!

I haven't looked into the mcdougall diet, but I think I might take a look...

Does anyone follow a wheat free diet? ...in your experience, is that hard to do while being a veg?
  • I tried wheat free for a little bit when we thought I had an intolerance, and it is very difficult. I think it depends on how you are eating now. If you rely alot on breads and pastas to get your carbs/starches, it is really difficult. If you prefer rices and starchy vegetables, it will probably be really easy for you. You can get alot of traditionally wheat products in rice based forms, it just takes a little bit of looking. Do you know how your grocery store is stocked with gluten free items? Mine has about a quarter of an aisle over by the cereal and sugar-free items.
  • Quote: So I started the Mcdougall Diet today, for the first 12 days I'm going to do the Maximum Weigh Loss plan, and then probably his regular plan if I want to stick to it. So I know some of you are on, or have tried the Mcdougall Plan, could you let me know what your favorite recipes are? I have the Maximum Weight loss book and The McDougall Cookbook. Thanks ladies!
I read about it a bit and I think it's a bit too restrictive for me. Let us know how it goes though.

Quote: Howdy ya'll! I know I'm a little bit late, but I would love to join this challenge! I have been vegetarian before and it felt so good! I would love to recapture that feeling of health and well being. In fact, I'd like to take it a step farther and also cut out my biggest enemy, cheese. Is there any way I could cut in a bit. Have a great one~!
Hi Cookie. Yes cut out the cheese - just don't eat it There are plenty of fine vegan sauces and even prepackaged cheeses that are way better for you and the dairy cows.

Mmm lentil soup is so good in the winter. The Ancho-chili and pineapple recipe from Veganomicon is very very good.

Quote: What are y'alls favorite salad dressings?
Oil and vinegar. I did try this Garden Herb recently and found it to be quite tasty.

    Yea for food porn!!

I'd shrivel up and die but I'm a bit of a carb whore
  • Fatchickbgone... YOu crack me up. I'm a carb whore too mmmmhmmmm
  • I've been on tack with exersize for 4 days, let's see if I make it the whole week!

1/10 - 3.1 mile run outside (and I only slipped and fell once, I'm talented), 20 min stretching/yoga

    1/11 - 35 min elliptical, 10 min stretching

    1/12 - 3.5 mile treadmill run, 30 min stretch/yoga

1/13 - 35 min elliptical (we finally bought one, used but a nice model in good shape)

Planning to hit my yoga class tonight too.

Eating has been so-so, too much snacking over the weekend. Been having a glass of red wine a few nights, but that's probably an improvement over a couple (2-3) beers.

ETA - Heather, your furry ones are beautiful! And yes, I've been around on the VFF forums for a while, but I don't post much.
