Well, All my company is gone and I am home from my trip to New York. It was all amazing. I saw my sister (for the first time in 10 years), my mother for the first time in 6 months, and my best friend...also 6 months. Needless to say, as amazing as this last week has been, I ate incredibly badly. I havent been on the scale in a week, but I will skip this last weigh in and start over on Friday. Im going to the gyn tonight and getting back on the wagon. Good job to everyone else! I`m completely scared of the scale right now.

Erin.. I'm glad you had a great time! 10 years that is crazy!! Don't let this week get you down eating wise. Special occassions happen, and we can all bounce back, if we keep our mind on the right track. You've been doing incredibly well so this bump in the road shouldn't stop you too long!

Hey Erin-how did you like NYC? Did you get a chance to eat at any vegan restaurants? Like Jill said, don't worry about how you ate; just jump back into healthy eating. You know what to do!

Heather-yes, the deer come every day. My dogs are very respectful of them, and they all get along pretty well. The little broken legged one is doing really well (We call her Three). And yes, Tings are the devil!

Jill-glad you made it to Colorado! I'm not a fan of snow, especially driving in it. I will do anything to avoid it! But you're lucky; it looks like we're going to have about a week of decent weather.

Jasmine-which bulletin are you talking about? The MTV thing? Good luck if you decide to go for it! It would be cool to see a vegan.

Well, things are going ok here. I finally decided to start calorie counting again. I have this little dream that I'm going to magically have a good relationship with food and eat only when I'm hungry and quit when I'm full and always chhose healthy food. Well, I finally figured out that isn't going to happen and if I want to lose weight I'm going to have to do the work and count the calories. And I'll probably have to do it for the rest of my life.

It's not like it's hard, either, especially with the internet. I guess I've just been deluded for a while, but I'm really determined to do this!

Have a great day, everyone!!

Darby: I just stopped calorie counting and I hope it works but so far not so great. I'm just burned out with the whole daily plate thing, I still journal what I eat but am not calculating the number of calories. I just can't do it right now I feel like a diet zombie and need to let it go for now. I hope your foray back into counting helps you out, I wish I had the motivation to do it.

Haley.. the cup of soups are good, you just have to try them each once to see what your fav flavors are. I don't love the chinese ones.

Darby.. yeah one week will be nice, I'll be here until the end of February then driving to California, so just hoping the few days I drive home will be good weather!!!

Jackie.. some people do good not counting once they are in a set schedule, or eating only certain types of foods, its good to try it out every now and then, less to do

Gee, I go go AFK for a month, come back and everyone is on McDougall. LOL

I am too, that is how I have been eating since September. My weakness is too much fat free mints, like life-savers and decaf coffee. Other than that, I am on plan (regular, not MWL, though I might do that soon). I originally went on it for cholesterol/ heart health and I plan on staying on it. It is a second nature way of life for me now, and I don't even have to think about it. This was the first year in probably 10 that I didn't gain over the holidays, even though I went on a week long trip, which is always another big weight gain. I didn't lose either, but I didn't gain. Now that I'm getting off my lazy butt and exercising again I am slowly losing, down a pound. Hey it's something!

Nope, I don't count calories either. With this plan you shouldn't have to. That is one of the great things about it. I just love it. I'm about to eat a McDougall minestrone cup right now.

You can try doing McDougall for one week, no counting. And if you gain instead of lose then go back to also calorie counting, but if not don't. I would just do McDougall until you notice either no loss for that week or gain.

Tomorrow is weigh in! My friend's scale is kind of wacky- she's going to get a new battery assuming that is the problem.

thanks, that's a good idea, im not counting today. it is liberating i must say, considering that oil and white flour is in most things that are so bad for you it's a little easier cause those foods aren't an option for me so i don't have to worry about consuming it lol
