Thanks Cathy. Am just so determined this week.

Last night took the boys swimming and I had a chicken burger and some chips. Hadn't planned on the chips but I had planned on a glass of wine when I got home. But because of the chips the wine would have put me over points so didn't have it.

Why does this have to be so hard ? Putting the weight on was easy

Good morning to everyone!! Yes I know. I haven't posted for an absolute age but I have finally caught up with my own tail and cannot get to sleep so here I am, in my favourite midnight hideyhole, trying to make amends by saying hellos and how-are-you-doings to everyone reading!!

No specifically wonderous news from this end, sorry to say! My weight has not shifted from the 11st 9 lb for weeks and weeks, and I still have heard nothing from the DSS about my benifit claim, suffice to say that the appeal has gone as far as tribunal level and not just a reading of the papers. And this will probably not happen until late July/early August, although I have not had a date set yet
Now, what else? I think I told you in a post a long time ago that the consultant had decided against operating on my back, so I am on increased pain-relief and have an appointment with a pain management consultant this week.I have seen him before, and goodness only knows what he can come up with this time. Watch this space!!

It has been great reading all your posts. Sal, I hope you enjoyed your time in the Cairngorms (sp?) . I went to Nairn years and years ago with a dear friend of mine. We stayed a few days there, went on to Newtonmoore and then onto Edinburgh. The scenery was absolutely fabulous up the top of the Cairns, and no, we didn't walk up either! We were driven up with a group in an open sided cattle truck, which rocked rather precariously from side to side when a large Highland Cattle decided to scratch it's itch away on the side of the wagon. The view from the top was awesome though and I have tearned to go back but only got as far as Fort William or Edinburgh on opposite coasts!

Poor Pen and Lew!!!Poor you Chris! It made me wince to read all about it. I hope everybody's bits and pieces are mending nicely now though....

Oh Leigh-r...what a night-mare for a first night on your new job. Well done for keeping such a sensible and kind and loving head on you!

Cathy, I was interested to read your post when you said you had experienced an out-of-body-experience.I would love to read anything more you could say about it. I am a Christian and do believe in life after death, and I am very curious (and nosy!) about people's tales of matters spiritual!

Ho ho!! It is now the 15th June which means....it's my birthday tomorrow and I will officially be 39.That does sound a bit on the getting old side, I think! And I also think I shall stop at being 39....40 does not roll off the tongue as easily, so I'm stopping right there!!

Night night all. Have a lovely Sunday and remember!TODAY IS FATHER'S DAY!!!

Hiya Teel,
It is so nice to hear from you i'd forgotten that i'd mentioned my out of body experience i rarely talk about it in case people think i am off my trolley i was a novice bicycle rider and we went down a steep hill and i lost control of my bike and crashed into a car at the bottom..i was out cold for days but i remember floating out of my body and hovering high in the sky..i followed my friends all the way home as they carried me..it was'nt scary or anything..i thought it was awesome and i did'nt see any lights at the end of a tunnel like some say they have.
In case you go missing again..HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow

I'm not quite at 39 yet either, but if I count forwards next year and Teel backwards we'll meet in the middle. I too think 39 is young, when I'm 80, I'll sit down and think about whether I'm old or not. Happy belated birthday Teel.

You were right about the Cairngorms being lovely. We enjoyed our weekend so much we are going back for a week at the end of July. I hope we get a few dry bright days to enjoy the scenery.

Was in the lower highlands at the weekend, went to mum and dads caravan in Kenmore, on Loch Tay for those with the O level in geography. Was gorgorous. The weather really made it, it is a long time since we have been up there and had smashing weather like this. We rode for miles, walked for miles and even took a boat out on the loch. Was great fun and really good for us as a family, to have some time out together. I ate more to make up for all the exercise. Had a couple of ice lollies sitting on the little beach, in the sunshine. Was pure dead brillant.

Today it was back to reality, work. had to go to the head office for a training session on a piece of software I probably won't use for ages. Will get back to my real job tomorrow and burn some cals on those stairs.

Have been thinking alot about my weight loss over the coming holiday weeks and I am determined to keep working at it, although it will be hard, with holidays, meals out bbq's, etc. Will just need to plan and plan and plan and walk a bit more than I am at the moment.

Next summer I will be a size 12 and be glamourous. Although being a size 18 and not a 22 is making me feel very glamourous this summer

Your weekend sounds lovely Carol i had a quiet one at home, we dragged hubby's 1972 Dodge Charger car (like the one in Dukes of Hazzard) out of the weeds and i cleaned it up ready to sell..then we drank beer in the sunshine.

Carol, your weekend sounds glorious. Cathy, your's doesn't sound too bad either. I'm not a beer drinker myself but do like a shandy at times. Makes me think of sitting out in a pub garden in the summer when I have one, makes me want a packet of Walker's cheese & Onion crisps too though.
Talking of which, should have some soon as Mum is coming over in August so will bring a suitcase full of treats....the care package as we call it. Hit pay dirt last week. FOund out that our base grocery store now sells PG Tips.....was so happy I bought two boxes and then found out the price. $5.69 for a box of 80 teabags!! What a rip off! They also are now selling digestives and Rich Tea biccies, so I bought some of them too and have been enjoying counting them into the points. All I need now is some Heinz baked beans to appear on those shelves and I'll be in hog heaven.
have a great week everyone. Mine will be busy preparing for the end of the school year. Lots of stress but I'll get through it, then I'll have a whole ten days off before returning for the summer programme....oh joy!

It is a rip-off Chris..i go to a little sweetshop in Victoria sometimes and a bottle of Vimto is $6 and a tin of mushy peas $2.50 i used to go to marks and sparks too before they pulled the pin and their prices were sky high too but worth it for a little bit of home

THREE POUNDS????? For a bottle of vimto???They must be making it from hand-picked blackcurrants

Where have all the English/U.K. posters gone these days.....I just noticed that this thread seems to be holding on to two people in the UK. and two people who used to be here but have now gone across the pond, as they say!!!And it's C., C., S., and S. what has happened to TQ, and Peacock and all the other cyber friends??Please lurk in and then come and say hello, I for one, would love to know how you are getting on, but then I am just pure dead nosy!!!!

Today must be "dentist day". I've been as well and had a filling which left me feeling as if I'd done just half a round with Tyson...good day for the food intake, though.
Smiling, did you take any photos in the Cairngorms? If you did, please could you attach one to a post? It would bring back a few dozen very memories to me!
Leigh...how is the job panning out? Forgive me if I have missed this info, but is it all nights you are working? In any case I hope the shifts have not been as dramatic as the first night you worked sometime last week, I think.

Good night everyone...
