Happy~ I hope we can both get back on track this week. Exercise has been good but food.. Happy bike riding!! Too bad the terrain is so hilly. <---can just see DH out there now with the Lifeboy sudsing up! How did the Drs appt go? RE:the chest....since quitting, my chest on and off feels heavy and that was before the chair came. When you have allergies etc it has something to do with the little hairs that have been burned out in the lungs. They hold oxygen and I am not sure if they grow back all the way or what. Also we bercome shallow breathers as a result of all the inhaling. So maybe some deep breathing exercising is in order. I am a fine one to talk as i have been told many times to do it and have not.

Holly~ Sorry I got the wrong Birthday!!! OOPS!!!
Hapy Birthday DH & Grandma!!! Did the dust bunnies eat you alive?! Must have felt good to get that sleep all in one lie down. Energized!

Shad~ It's a shame the others that leave don't stay and reap the benefits of those meetings but we live in the "quick fix" generation. If it can't be fixed in a day no one takes the job on. That's why the homeless population is so large. We're living in the Age of disposable people.
I hope the DB feels it in his heart, the love and caring you have to even consider taking this on.....the "he ain't heavy, he's my brother". <-----for you

PW~ I will pm

Ceejay~ sending the Ark to pick you and Happy up!!! I was wondering where our rain went.

Wednesday is the scan so I will more than likely be MIA.
Did some floor washing and general cleaning yesterday in between alarms going off. Seems a few Seniors were trying to set the bldg. alight!! But no firemen, just smoke detectors. Broiled my chicken breasts, made oatmeal, a salad, and today I will steam the veggies and rice. Hopefully that will keep me busy and also out of the fridge. Been eating too much this weekend and I drank 3 Frappuccinos This diet stuff is worse than cigarette quitting for sure!! Well as they say....ONWARD AND FORWARD! or vice versa!! or is it UPWARD AND ONWARD? Anyway.....
Happy Monday/Tuesday

DH told me to take a walk. I did.
We went Mexican for dinner. He had fajitas, I had nachos (1/2 order.)
Not going to do anything precipitous. Thank you for care and attention.

Morning all,
And yes it is morning still - just.

Went off to the gym this morning as per normal and found I simply could not get through the workout. The eliptical defeated me and I had to abandon it halfway through. Have no idea what went wrong, but wrong it was! So tomorrow it will be the second half of todays workout plus tomorrows as long as I can get through it. I feel completely drained right now.

Robert Burns - Scottish poet known as The Bard, doesn't exactly fit with a Chinese New Year party. Only the Canadians........ Here should he be suddenly honoured, we would have the new years eve party and then start all over again the next day with the Bards birthday party. Why celebrate two things with one party when you can have two or three maybe?

Painter - I think you may be ready to commit to yourself. You have already started with the business and could be ready to move along. Little steps, not big rash statements are what gets you going. Also small goals and not huge ones for short periods of time not long ones. It will happen when you are ready. Why shouldn't we devote time to you on this thread. You are a very important part of the equation to me.

Happy - there's a bucket of willpower around you. All you have to do is lift the lid with both hands. Get on the bike and take water not food. Get out of the house and the kitchen. We need to have an achievement once in a while so this week could be yours.
Umm there are times when I get the heavy feeling in the chest STILL. Keep thinking about the breathing. In through the nose, out through the mouth, slow deep breaths. The little cilla (those little hairs that Mel talked about which filter our air) do grow back. Perhaps not as well as before, but they do come back. In through the nose, out through the mouth.

Mel - People come and go and stay away because of the feeling of powerlessness. They are powerless to change the gambler. There is nothing they can do for them. However if they stuck around long enough they might find that they can do something for themselves. I'll just keep going for a while - at least until work comes along.

Linus - had an e-mail from teel saying she is off to friends place in Derby for a week or so. She sounds happy enough.

Better go and see what else I can do around the house. It's hot and sticky again. Ant kill and pruning are on the menu as is that bloody ceiling. This is my last shot at it. If this doesn't work I'll be using Dial a Hubby or something similar.

We are getting pretty quiet here, aren't we? Thanks for the advice Shad, I have decided that I'm doing way too much sitting which means I'm going to cut back some of my computer and TV time in the evening. Last night we had to pick up some things at the store. By the time we got back home it was after 7 and I still had to make dinner. It was 8:05 when I served things up - about 2 hours past when I would have preferred to eat. It was a lousy eating day - not really eating bad stuff just not very tasty food. No formal exercise either. We did have a small fire in the building in the afternoon. We all thought it was a drill so we stayed calm - but it meant walking down 10 floors of stairs. Take a claustrophobic person, put her in a narrow, windowless stairwell with hundreds of people all filing into the stairwell and lets periodically stop throughout the process. I did manage to keep the claustrophobia at bay. Once we get outside we had a long, long way to walk all around the office campus to get to our assigned "fire" spots so that they can account for us. 10 floors and the knee was whinging a bit but not awful. Then I went to bed too late again (sorry PW I have not forgotten about you). I was tired, it was late yet I tossed and turned for at least 30 minutes. Of course I didn't want to get up this morning. Sure signs of chaos for me. Which means an extra dose of discipline - to do lists, committments and organization in my life. Big deep breath - (thanks ladies, that does help) and I'm ready to do battle. - borrowing from Meadow.

Good luck with the ceiling Shad. There ARE beautiful stars out Meadow - have you looked? Just a glorious teensy sliver of a moon last night just as the skies darkened. It was gorgeous! And the night skies have been filled with stars. Glad you got a walk in PW. Linus, little CJ does rule the house, doesn't he? Ceejay hope all is well and that you're just out travelling. Mel - the doctor's went ok - just keep doing what you're doing she says. Thanks for the reminder to breath deep. I have become a shallow breather.

Ok, my time's up - gotta get moving. 'morning and a fine day to the chicks of the world.

Talking The Dueling Smilies

Happy they were too funny to see again!! Not sure why they crack me up so much. Sorry about the fire "drill" and glad it wasn't something too big!
Every time I answer an alarm over here, I ask them if they're done trying to set fire to the house?
Hope your knees feel better today. This is the Year of the Dog. Maybe we are becoming too complacent and need a little pat and off we will go?!?! <---till you get it going.

Meadow~ How goes your life? Mine is filled with
dvd watching

Shad~We could use you over here. for 2 days we are without hot water. New tank was installed and it's not functioning! Bet it's something stupid like they forgot to flip a switch!!! I forgot to ask if you've seen the lizard this year. Hope the gym goes better. It's probably all the upper torso stuff you are doing at home....don't go nuts and end up with an inflammation!!!
Sometimes I wonder if you keep all the DIY stuff in mind.

Ceejay Till we meet again!

Linus~ I'll be very quiet and type silently so as not to wake up the wee bugger

PW~ I agree with Shad but thought you meant "it" wasn't for discussion here. Anyway....sending many for you alos. Good for DH. Maybe we should lend him LindaT's prod!!!!

today is day 2 of the cold water thing.God can men do nothing right? Why would they let the guy go back before they saw there was a problem and why didn't they listen when I said there was?!?!?!? So there we were at 8pm looking at equiptment none of us have any idea how to run. Before someone got burned or electrocuted, I called an end to it, put up noticves for the tenants and sent them home. GEEEEEEZ!!! Hope they get it right today cause I have the CT Scan tomorrow and need a proper shower!!! Nothing much new. Veged out yesterday, talked to Jen, And cleaned a bit.
Happy Tuesday! :drive:

Morning all~

Finally checking in after a lonnnggg recovery period. Just proves that sometimes you shouldn't mix Scotch with Egg Rolls. No seriously, I was really, really stupid (no really) which meant that Sunday was a write-off. We'll just count this as a lesson learned and move on, shall we???

Meadow ~ It was raining here and I couldn't see the stars. *pout* Hope you enjoyed them for me. Warmest January on record here which means we are getting Vancouver weather. Nice temps but too much rain.

Ooops… wanted to check in with everyone else but it seems I am wanted elsewhere. Work ~ work ~ work… highly overrated. I’ll be back later. Off at noon to get new glasses. Hopefully I will be able to see to read and type this evening.

Morning all,

Thought I would type over breakfast this morning. It occurred to me late last night that yesterday was weigh in and measure. Don't even know what day it is now! It's the ceiling that is doing it. Looks fine during the day time. Turn on a light and you can see all the lumps and dips and furrows. So I sanded it at night time! Today it will be swept, washed and a coat of sealer put on it. Then we will see. I know, I know. I am obsessing about a ceiling!!!!

Late yesterday afternoon, I pruned the roses and dug the ground around them. Today is fertilse, water granules and mulch for them. DS2 came round the day before yesterday and drooled over Hot Chocolate again. I thought it was looking decidedly weedy, so he took all the flowers off it and took them back to his place to put in a vase. ' Are you pruning Julia as well' he asked. Yep says I. So all the flowers went off Julia as well. By the time he had finished around the rose garden he had quite a bunch of what I considered to be weedy flowers. He's happy and so am I as he saved me a bunch of pruning. If he decides to stick around, I will have to arrange a rose garden for him. Right now he is talking about Western Australia again. He is going over soon for a bit of a holiday and will check out employment over there. Not a particularly happy person right now.

Happy - I agree, that is way to late to eat. Descending 10 flights of stairs can be considered exercise. Glad you didn't have to walk up them again. And well done on keeping the claustrophobia at bay.

Mel - no I haven't seen lizard this year. Still there are not many snails around, but then again it is very dry out there. Wish he would come back and eat the crickets and grasshoppers which get stuck into my roses!
It often is something as stupid as not switching on something or even better not plugging in to the mains!

Madcat - Oh dear - too much Burns and Dog celebration. The two cultures don't mix too well. Good luck with the new glasses. Hope they help.

Morning Holly.

Stats - oh yes stats - well here we go.

Weight - 72 (same)
Upper Chest - 35 (down 3/4 inch)
Bust - 40.25 (same. Will this ever move??)
Lower Chest - 33.5 (up 1/2 inch)
Waist - 32.75 (down 1 1/4inch)
Upper Hip - 38 (down 1/2inch)
Lower Hip - 38.25 (down 1/4 inch)
Top of Arm - 12.25 (down 1/4 inch)
Top of Leg - 21.5 (up 1/2 inch)

Disregard anything up or down under 1/2 inch because it could just be the tape measure or where I have measured from last time. So things are much the same as December. Bit more waist than previously though. And the hips are getting to be within 2 inches of target - ie what they were 20 or so years ago. How come I can't get shot of some of the upper body bits?

Gotta go. Things to do and the last day of gym for the week. Hurray!!!! I go, but I really don't profess to like it that much. But I know what will happen if I don't put in the effort. Renewal membership coming up in April. I shall get a new trainer and appraisal then.

Outa here.

Just sticking my head in the door . I've really been busy both at work and at home. I'm finally getting it through my thick head not to obsess with numbers. This week I've been following the ediet's.com glycemic recipe's and this sight has put me back down to 1200-1300 calories and I'm wearing my pedometer on the day's I work. Today I have accumulated 2.99 miles and burned 307 calories. I've been preparing the next day's menu after I get home from work and cleaning up the kitchen before I go to bed.
