  • I love TBL and I never missed last season, but for some reason I forget to set the vcr for this season. This past Tuesday Dh and I were helping a friend with car problems...so again I missed it! GRRRR!!! I'd kinda like Suzy, Dr Jeff or Andrea to win. At least from what I've seen.

2Fru- I am glad that you weren't hurt when your bike fell! I'm not sure if its any consolation, but I am really clumsy on my feet, I fall over something (anything) several times a year. Then, when its icy out...good heavens! So, knowing that it does make me pretty cautious on 2 wheels.

Star- Your new skinny pants sound really cute. I really need to do some sale shopping soon. Although, I really want to lose a few before then. As for my babies...they are very spoiled! We have a combined family and then 1 together. When we got married, he brought his outdoor sweetheart Rottweiler named Tika and I had Lucy a smaller terrier mix senior citizen. She's really grouchy now and smells awful, even though I bathe her weekly. She's just super old. I got her about 6 years ago, but she's probably 12 by now. Our combined baby, we got at the end of Aug or early September and he's our only boy. He's a little (actually not-so-little now) black kitten and he's under 6 months old. We named him Simba and he's so darn naughty, but he is very loving, silly and sweet. He makes us laugh. See? I'm a typical mother going on and on about my kids! LOL

Harley- You're right, everyone adjusts to the new changes. Your kids do sound very well behaved. Dh really wants us to go to Disneyland and Southern CA for our 5 year anniversary...hmm...not so sure of that now! LOL

Gina- I agree about bad kids in public. I get enough of it here. Bad kids in public SCHOOL. LOL!!!! Yeah, so on my free time I prefer to be around behaved kids. Isn't it funny exercising in front of the pets?? Simba has finally gotten used to the Gazelle. He used to just sit and watch me go back and forth and stick his paw out at me. Now, he pretty much ignores me. Yesterday I did some step aerobics and he was wild-eyed, ears pulled back, chasing me around the step. I think I got double the workout! Darn little beast!!!

Do you ladies have any big plans for the weekend?

Dh has to work overtime this Saturday from 5am-1pm, so I doubt that we will be out doing anything tonight. Last night we were in bed at 8:45...lol. Saturday night we have a Halloween party and I still dont have my costume. I'm going to the thrift store after work to see if I can find something. Thats pretty much it for us.

Well, I will try to stop in again later. If not...HAVE WONDERFUL AND SAFE WEEKENDS!!!
  • Big plans for the weekend hmmmm how about getting a clean house . I am going to make it a group effort all though the rest of the group is not aware of it as of yet.

My son and his girl friend are going to Halloween party as Fred and Wilma Flintstone. So I was up last night sewing Fred costume. Then I sat in front of TV and cut these weird shaped triangles out for him to hot glue to the orange outfit. He called and I just informed him he was going to glue them on he said mom did you cut them out, I was like of course you spoiled child. He lives in the mountains so I'll have to measure him when he gets home this afternoon and make sure everything fits right. What a pain. As they say a mothers work is never done. I am not sure I would want it any other way. One of my girls is going to a hall crawl at school this evening. She is going as Tippy Hendren, from the birds. Just go to the thirft store find old 50's looking dress make little peck marks, fake blood running down arm, legs, face and black birds wired to outfit. Fun costume! Usually people get what it is. Not sure about other daughter she is not really into it, I don't think, although she'll most likely want to whip something up last min. for her. They are very good kids though so I don't mind doing things for them. Having teenage daughters has been somewhat interesting with all the emotionalism. They just start crying about everything. I shorta of remember being like that at 14, 15 so I try to cut them some slack.

I am going to have family over for chili and hot cider on Halloween and pass out candy to the cute neighborhood kids. It will be fun.

TBL is great. I was so sad to see Pete go, loved him so nice like you want people to be. Plus your right Star he looks unbelievable when they show at the end how much more they have lost! I would love to see doctor Jeff win. I think the others think that he will be out eaiser than them. He might give them a run for thier money! I think I am with you Star I also like Suzy. Gina I wouldn't have my feelings hurt of Andrea won. She looks great and it would be neat to see someone win who doesn't have so much weight to lose towards the end. It seems like the odds are stacked against her because of that.

Well Gina, Star, Holly, Reb, 2Frus Have a GREAT weekend! Keep the wind in your face and stay upright!

    Hi Biker Babes......

Gina - I know you are as bad as me with the Biggest Loser, glued to the tube every Tuesday, with a smile on my face.... I'm for Dr. Jeff, he is so sweet. How does Andrea remind you of you? She is really pretty now that her face is thinner.....And who was it - Harley, that said it would be good to see not one of the largest win.....Like I said I like Suzy but she could use a good dose of self confindence........
About pocktets in my pants. Well I think the side pockets just add bulk and so I don't buy them. I guess I've never been big on putting my hands in my pockets anyhow (they are usually busy holding something to eat - hence, I'm here....lol) I am so certain that the no frills pants are slimming that's all I buy anymore.

Rebel - there is a thread on here, actually The Biggest Loser has it's own little spot, it's this "The Biggest Loser Episode 7 - 25 Oct 2005" and MrsJim posts a play-by=play of each episode. Every week when I read it on Wed I feel like I just turned the tv off again, she is awesome! So from now on when you miss, just go on there and catch up...I think they are titled by episode numbers.
Your 'family' sounds very lovable...I love animals and when we retire we are gonna get two shitzus, named Baby & Boo.....DH isn't wild about the pre picked names but he'll let me name them anyhow.... My girlfriend has two and I think they are better in pairs....
I was like you with workout yesterday and did my thing in my apartment gym last night. The more I use that little gym the better I like it, it has a tv with remote and everything... (I say that like they even make tv's without remotes anymore - I'm showing my age).....lol
Harley - you got the mom thing down pat.... My sons are 27 and 35 and they always need something. I don't think that ever changes... Just yesterday I made a doctors appt for my youngest to get a physical. With heart desease and cancer in our family, I think he really needs to start thinking about taking care of himself. My neice had a triple bypass at 27, so there is need for concern.
Harley - you have to let us know how those Fred and Wilma costumes turned out, they sound adorable.... Oh and about your DS being spoiled, isn't that better than having him grown and telling his friends stories about how mean his mom was?.....
We are babysitting for Kaycee tonight, DS and DDIL are going to a halloween party. They ar gonna bring her here to my work at 4:45 and she will go home with me for the night til tomorrow.....
My surgery is now on Tuesday, moved back one day from Monday, so I will be here on Monday......yell at ya'll then.
    Hi to 2Fr and Holly.........
I just had lunch with the other DDIL and GBDave - he is really starting to say alot of words now, he'll be 2 Dec 11th. He got his first haircut last weekend. They cut short around his face and left some curls in the back, it's like a modified mullet....lol
  • Star - OMG...a mullet - too funny. But I bet he's still cute!
Harleymom - I'm on the housecleaning plan as well...hopefully everyone didn't run and hide when you informed them. Let us know how the Flintstones fared as well.
I'm on my own this weekend - sent DH to Florida for a party for his goddaughter. It's a quincanera (sp?) for when a girl turns 15...I thought about going - but I'm looking forward to a weekend of single life. I rented a Monty Python and I want to see if the house stays cleaner without him
Andrea - I don't know what I'd do without pets...ya gotta love em...even when they are doing something obnoxious.
    Have a great weekend everyone!!
  • Happy Halloween biker chicks!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and that all the Halloween parties went good. Ours was pretty fun. It's funny that you mentioned a mullet, because Dh got a mullet wig, hunting cap, and torn Harley shirt for his costume and I kinda dressed like a combo of Peg Bundy/Anna Nicole. It was alot of fun.

Star- How long will you be off work after your surgery? I can't remember if you told us or not. You are in my thoughts and I'm sure that everything will go great!

Harley- Your Halloween get together sounds like so much fun. I think Dh and I are just going to relax at home.

Gina- I know what you mean about the pets...they are so comforting even in their naughty little ways.

    2fru and Holly- Hey ladies!!
  • Hi Girlfriends.....
Gina - I hope you really had a great 'single' weekend. I know us married chicks love that every now and then! Hope you didn't have to clean too much....
Andrea - Those last minute costumes are alot of times the best! There is just something you have to love about the mullet....lol
Harley - update on the costumes please.....
    Hey to 2Fr and Holly......

Well my weekend was unreal....was thinking me and DH would spend some time alone before the surgery.....well - NOT. Friday night DS&DDIL dropped Kaycee (9 months) off at my work to spend the night with us since they were going to Halloween party. She stayed all night and we took her back home at 3 the next day. She is a joy and such a good baby, BUT she was cutting teeth, that mixed with the fact she knew she wasn't home, met we had to take special care getting her to sleep. But once she was down she slept all night and was good as new in the morning.
Okay so we dropped her off at 3 on Sat. DH and I went out to eat then picked up Samantha (2 months old) for that nights stay, her parents were off to Halloween party. She was pretty easy, at 2 months they don't do much except eat, poop, sleep, goo or cry....lol She got up once at 3am for change and bottle...then back to sleep for the night. We took her back home at 3:30. Then DH and I discussed how we are maybe too old for babies 24/7.....lol
Then we kicked back, watched tv and tried to catch up on our 'chill' time for the weekend.....
Today I'm trying to finish up important stuff at work. The temp will be here at 2:30 for some last minute stuff to go over......
Tonight is the Haloween get-to-gether at DS's house. We won't be staying late since I have to be at the hospital at 7am for surgery at 9......
So unless I post later today, I won't be talking to you chicks for atleast 2-6 weeks. Oh Andrea my recovery time is like that of major surgery 6 weeks. I'm gonna try and come back sooner though, we'll just have to wait and see....
Hugs - I'll miss you wild chicks......
    Trina
  • Had a busy weekend but it was nice! Everyone chipped in and helped with house cleaning! DS was cute with his flintstone costume we were glueing stuff together last min. but pulled it together and he was out. Sounds like Wilma got a little carried away with the drinking so DS ended up taking care of her all night.

Star we are going to miss you! Good luck and take care of yourself. Don't me doing to much baby sitting and that while your letting yourself get well! We will miss you but expect you to come back with all kind of interesting news! You will be in my prayers for tom.!!!

Reb your costumes sound like fun! Hope you had a good time!

Well all have a Happy Halloween! Catch you later!
  • Thanks Harley....
About DDIL Wilma - Sounds like DS did the right thing
    Talk to ya'll soon....
    Hugs....
  • Aww...Star! We are going to miss you SOOOOO much! We will be so glad when you are back to feeling better. Anyhow, we'll hold down the fort until you get back to us! Great big hugs and we love you!!!
  • Rest up, Trina...we will be expecting you back all bright and cheery with bells on. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy at least some of the time off - surgery ain't fun...we'll be here for ya whenever you make it back.

Andrea - Peg Bundy/Anna Nichol too hilarious...big hair and everything?

The single weekend was quite nice - I didn't clean much...I tried out workouts from Jillian Michaels book...that chick rocks. I'm sore, but still alive.

    Happy Halloween everyone!!
  • Gina- I have been nosing around at the Biggest Loser thread. I am really thinking about checking out Jillian's book, too. Is it pretty hard workouts?

As for my costume...yeah, but I found a big blonde curly wig that was perfect, real trashy makeup, blue eyeshadow and just general dark makeup and bright pink-red lipstick. I thought I looked more like a drag queen, but my husband thought I looked pretty hot. Go figure. Men! Mine seems to like the trampy, slutty, trashy look!
  • Howdy!

Didn't get any halloween callers last night. Was in bed by 9pm! I'm hating these darker nights! Makes me want to eat too! And just lie on the couch instead of exercise! Oh and drink hot chocolate.... Gah!

Nice bright day today, but COLD! I like it cold! First day of tingly fingers today. You know, when your hands are so cold, then they come into the warm and go REALLY hot?! I'm wearing my new fleecey hat that I bought at the weekend. It's great! and it fits under the helmet!

Rocking off to kickboxing tonight! I'm going to work out mega hard! Harder than usual - I'm going to be a black belt you know!
  • Good morning everyone!

2fr- I hear you about the weather changes. I would love to just stay home, cuddle in, and lay around. I also want to eat more, too. Have a great night at kickboxing!!

Not much to report here. It's cold here this morning, too, but it's supposed to be pretty warm this afternoon. Dh and I did our 2 mile walk yesterday...even though he didnt really want to, but we agreed that we felt so much better after just getting it done. I actually did 100 % on plan yesterday!! Most days (for the past few weeks) it's been 85-90%...

Do you all weigh in weekly? I really need to start posting my weekly weight somewhere b/c it would make me more accountable. If anyone wants to, I guess we could have a weekly/monthly weigh-in day??

Well, have a great day girls!
  • I weigh in monthly (well every 4 weeks!) and don't really bother about it between then! Although if I'm having a very good week I'll sneak a peak!

I just ate a portion of rice crackers (100 kcals) not bad, but they tasted of plastic! I discovered this halfway through the portion.. Why did I finish them At least it wasn't a mince pie!
  • I weigh in when I'm in the mood....or when I notice the scale in the closet because someone has cleared everything off of it....have I mentioned I'm not the consumate house keeper?

About Jillian's workouts - I'm only on the 4th Day....I like the way she splits out the different body areas so that you do some muscles on one day and then another the next. It gives you a chance to recover on the day in between. Although it semms to me there is AB's stuff on almost all the days..sneeky Jillian...
2Fru - I totally get what you mean about the cold weather..last night I made peppermint tea with splenda....it was pretty good and a good finger warmer. You must look smashing in your new hat!
Doncha hate when you eat something even tho it doesn't taste good? I do that, too...quite annoying. After I always think - why did I waste calories on that? I'm going to try to make a conscious effort to think that during instead of after....
We got a few Trick or Treater's last night...I only bought one bag of candy - at 6:30 it was almost gone so I sent DH to buy some more...he bought three bags ?! ...then we got no more trick or treaters.... He had better take that crap to work with him...

    Good morning Harleymom & Holly!!
