Ok - you need to put a warning before you say something so hilarious....I was unable to hold in the guffaw at work...people started peeking over the walls to see if I was ok...

Where are you from?? I agree with you on the riding with the guys. I like them because I'm the queen bee when I ride with them and don't have to worry as they all spoil me rotten lol. Plus I don't want the polictics of being in a chapter I'll leave that to my dh.

I will be adding some cardio to my plan. JC beleives you have to get moving in order to lose the weight. Other wise you get stuck. Workout too much??? that's a new one on me. Wow wish someone would tell me that. Get moving is more like what I need to hear with a cattle prod in one hand. I've never been very active and I am paying for it now.

Hello Laydees!

I was out on my bike for 4 hours yesterday off to see a friend and getting lost... Wasn't raining or anything, so that makes a change!

Rebel, my rebel has a tank ding too - also not by me! It's been dropped and that's where the indicator smacked into the tank! Must've been a pretty hard fall! I'm not too bothered about it though, but I must give it a good old polish this weekend and get some of that ACF50 on it it's like an oily film that protects it from rust. I'm starting to see some spots on the forks and screen that definitely weren't there a coupla months ago!

Did a "body pump" class last night which was pathetic! The instructor really annoys me! They always make it sound like REAL WEIGHTLIFTING when it's a pale imitation IMHO! But at least I got to go with my friend!

Double kickboxing tonight! Hooray! Must get myself psyched up for it! Feeling a little bit tired!

Oooh ooh and I bought some boots yesterday and they actually go over my calves!

Harley - I live in Michigan, a suburb of Motown (Detroit)....but have lived in Phoenix, New Mexico and Texas. Was raised in MI and moved back here early 90's.
Yeah - at LAWL they say you can work out four hours a week and that's it. So now I'm working out too much for them becuz I go to the gym M-F at 6 a.m. and work out for an hour and then I got to Jazzercise M-W&T. At the gym I do cardio 3 days and weights 2 days. I think you should just start some cardio first and not too much at first (don't want burnout)....
2frustrated - I kinda feel the same way about Jazzercise as you do about 'Body Pump' but I joined so that my SIL would start some form of exercise. Then it ends up for whatever reason she didn't sign up......I'm finishing the 8 week class since I already paid for it and it can't 'hurt' me.....lol
Hi to all.....later....

That is way too funny! Or as my husband would call them...his "handles" I have seen a guy on back once before. Even my brother, who doesnt ride or knowledged in motorcycles, wouldn't ride on the back of mine.

You, know back to the Biggest Loser, I thought that when Jillian was ripping the guys a new one, it said on the bottom of the screen to go to the website and download her eating plan. I will see if I can find it in a bit and report on my findings.

2frustrated- Everyone I has met that owns a Rebel has a ding on it! How funny. Is yours a 250? That's what mine is. i didnt realize that they also came in 125 cc. I can't imagine!

Harley- i am just like you with the exercise. It's just not quite in me totally. I'm trying to love it, but I am actually enjoying cardio. in fact I may just do cardio for a month and then add the toning. Since at this point I hate toning and like cardio.

Gina- Morning!

Star-I didn't realize you were 180 in that pic. You do look very thin in that picture.

Well, girls I'll be back in a while

Rebel - Thanks for the 180 compliment...I think I'm all muscle.....
About loving cardio and not toning/weights...that's good. It is my opinion (like my first husband said "Opinions are like as_holes - everyone has one"....lol Anyhow, I don't think people that are very overweight should do weights. The reason is that when you do toning/weights you are building muscle. that muscle will get bigger, the problem isn't with that, the problem is that fat is gonna still lay on top of that muscle, only making the overweight person look bigger. Now, really - who wants that?

Star I have to disagree with your building muscle making people look bigger. I have gained 8lb in the past few months and I'm *smaller* than I was before I started weight training!

Rebel, yes mine's a 250 I've seen some 125s with L plates on so that must be why! I was wondering who would be riding on Ls with a 250 (it's not legal over here!)

Gotta rush double KB!

2frustrated - You can certainly disagree with me, it's an opinion (everyones got one) However, I was really talking about obese people and not just slightly overweight people. BTW, how tall are you?

Good Morning Motorcycle Chicks
I am having a busy morning. My DS had her baby yesterday. 9lbs 3oz. boy. He is a big one. I beleive this will be the last neice, nephew I'll get as we are all getting up there in age. My DS has a 13 year old son, now baby too. Better her than me is all I gotta say.

Star It gets pretty cold up there doesn't it? Eveyone thinks it is the tundra here but we live in a valley so it snows and goes away in three days or so. My son lives in the mountains and gets snow all winter until about May, June but that is up in the high country. As a matter of fact he called me this am and said the mountain caps are already covered in snow. The thing we have to watch out for is the gravel that goes on the roads. That will wreck you faster than anything else. I don't ride a lot in the winter as I don't like riding in the cold and the wind chill gets pretty high when your out in the open air. My dh rides almost year around. Not much activity as far as organized rides between Sept. and March. April to August lots of rides and party's going on.

On the working out thing. I think I will be doing good to do the cardio right now. One step at a time. Weight training is very possiable at my house as my son used to power lift in high school and has every thing you can think of for weight training in the basement. I just look at it and go uck! Baby steps I guess. I went to curves for a while and the only thing I had was curves of fat. It just didn't do much for me. I need to find my nitch. What do you guys do that you really enjoy!

Hi Harley -
I use to workout at home in the basement, had all the equipment, etc. But we sold our house and downsized, getting ready for retirement. All my gym equipment was moved up north to our lake place. Now I go to the gym, I do an hour of cardio 3 days a week, lift light weights 2 days a week, then I added that 3 night a week Jazzercise class.
I think your wise to start out with baby steps and I love cardio for fat burning. I have seen Curves and for me it wouldn't do anything. I think it is good for women that are just starting out, maybe obese or recovering.
But I think you are wise to find something that you really enjoy doing. I use to do cardio (treadmill, recumbent bike and elipical) while watching our big screen tv in the basement (that I really enjoyed....lol)
About riding weather. We ride here April - Sept and tha's it for me. I'm the first to admitt I'm a sissy rider. Don't like the cold, rain or really hot weather, but have rode it all of the above....even in freezing rain....yuck. My husband rides more than me and isn't as fussy about weather conditions.

Hi - I'm hecka late logging in this morning...trippy how bosses expect you to work during working hours just cause they are paying you...

I'll try not to make everyone feel bad but I can ride year around...Cali is good for that...I am contemplating putting the windscreen on - but that's more because I hate goggles...and the contact lenses don't appreciate no protection. 250 cc's your bikes are small - i didn't realize they came that small...too cool. Mine is 200 cc's but two stroke - what does a 250 top out at?
I like cardio, too...it feels good to see the calories burned on the machine when you are done...and walking outside is always a treat...quality doggie time..

Yesterday i was at the gym when the Jetblue plane was landing on tv...first time i saw my heart rate hit the red zone on the machine...I had to slow down. What a relief when it landed safely.
