Perfect way to end the day with MEADOW'S GRAPHICS!
Lovely as usual! I would like to look like the Fairy Princess! I should print her pic out and hang it on the fridge!!! Might make me think twice!
I have been very good today and got some things done even while being pulled in several directions at once. I think the bldg. is tucked in for the night and all should be calm but I have been wrong before!

Linus~ When you get in don't forget to turn all the lights out here. Last time I had to get out of bed and do it myself!!! And lock the door so no one can come in and surprise us! !!
Hope you are having a good time!

I can't believe the day is almost over. Have no idea where the time went. spent some time with Jen. too windy for the ride. Went out and came back in in less than a minute I think! LOL
Maybe tomorrow.....they say less wind! Have a great night and good morning Sunshine!

Default Morning

I was hoping to sleep in a little this morning but Teeka had other idea....then after her morning routine she is ready to crawl back into bed and sleep but I can't once I am up. But I will take a moment to tell you about my class yesterday. I know the lady that teaches the class and she is so talented in many things...but she really made you feel like it was possible for anyone to do this simple type of sketching for your journals or cards or anything you might do. For my the challenge is most of it but the use of colors and how to be able to make different shading and the effect color has on paper and constrast. Of course this was not lots of head stuff because she wanted us to draw and get to know the watercolor pencils....so 4 pics at the very beginning and you only 3 minutes at each station....
She was very encouraging and I had maybe two pieces that wouldn't make you drop to the floor and grap your belly and ... ... .. !
Sorry I don't have access to a scaner to send you any examples.......whew!
Ok I can not get into the journals at all...I have messed with my password but no luck....what do I have to do with the cookies to see if that is the problem....any suggestions???????
Made some good cabbage bok choy soup and have been being fairly good... I seem to make better strides in the DIET area when I just go along and try to not force myself down a diet road.....so any new advances for me in that direction I will share but as my friends here can say...I am the writer of wilderness tales and tails... I try to derive encouragement from all of these fabulous women....
So today I am trying to decide about the path the day shall take.... not sure yet. I have a journal to finish and maybe try a few of the new techniques. I was given a Flavia journal when I left Alaska and it has some stuff in it and now that I have been here ten years I want to finish the pages and put it away and begin anew.
Take Care all of you Lovilies and be Strong,
Peace,
Nae

Nae~ When I went to come to this page I clicked on the last post which was yours and then my e-mail thing went off at the same time saying you had posted. I had a good laugh. Question: what is a Flavia Journal??? Glad the class was good. It gives me hope for my winter endeavors to come! I don't know anything about cookies but maybe Happy and Shad can help. Suzanne3FC has been a big help with a LOT of people. Why don't you PM her. She's straightened out a lot of people who couldn't get into the journals etc. Good luck! I miss you stopping into my ravings and meanderings!
Kiss Teeka and take a lovely nap in a sunny area if you have one in the house! Your Tales and Tails get me "out" of my world and into yours and that's a good thing! I like to "travel".

Too cold for a ride but might go out for a few minutes anyway. Still pretty breezy today. I need to cook some more topday and I am praying the doorbell and cel phone don't go off. Yesterday was NOT a quiet time either. Once this flu shot thing is over on the 27th things will calm down. I only have to hold out that long!!! Maybe I need to change my schedule around. Take Mel time during the week when the office is open and don't answer phone or door than on the weekends and nights I would be rested. Hmmmm.....this is a thought. I will mull it over later.
Have a wonderful day and for those of us entering colder weather...stay warm! A friend of mine lives in Australia too....but north. she sent me an e-mail that says she is sweltering with 103-104 temperatures and can't stand it!!! It is the first time I have heard her talk of air-conditioning!!! She always hated it and couldn't stay long in my apt when she used to live in the same bldg many years ago! She was always after a visit with me.
I better be on my way and get going cause it's already almost 10 and all I did was eat breakfast!!!

Default Moring MEl

Hey Girl, Thanks for the reply.... a Flavia Journal.... make you crack up? She is an artist and so her pictures are throughout it and it is just an ordinary journal...I am sure you have seen her work. It was one of the many great gifts I received from the office I left in Anchorage.... I cried and cried.... at the end of the farewell party they said if I agreed to stay they would start to bring in the really nice presents....I will never forget it...or them.
I am trying to decide to take a long ride around the back mountains today or what to do...... I have been so good on my todo list I feel like doing something else..... it is hunting season though so I will need to be careful.
Hope you are doing well today......
Love,
Nae

The journal didn't make me laugh but the fact that you and I were here at the same time. Jou were just leaving and I was logging on. No sooner did I click on your name for the last post...then my email thing went off saying yoou had just posted. It all happened at once and gave me a chuckle. Maybe it loses something in the translation!
I'm not sure about Flavia but will investigate. She doens't sound familiar. The office must have indeed been sorry to lose a caring person as yourself. Be careful with the hunters out there. Sing a song outloud!! Doing fine today and hope you are too!
Love, Mel

Default Colour your world

Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas. And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination. ~Robert Fulghum

That'll teach me to wait so long before I catch up on all the back posts. I wish I could tell you all the comments I made out loud as I read...too bad the voice recorder wasn't working. <= copying MissMel.

I did happen to remember a couple of words... naked men and crayolas come to mind.

Profile. I'll get on it.

Quick dash in as I am at the cafe in my lunch break. I've just booked the flights home for 29th October. Arriving in at midnight as per normal but not going back until 2nd of November so have 4 days at home. It's a public holiday in Melbourne on tuesday 2nd for the running of the cup. Since the accommodation prices have soared for that week I'm staying home as long as possible and coming back to stay with a friend until the following weekend (which is the 7th) when I come back to the apartments and a more sane price.
I have a job interview on Thursday for the Perth job and I have alos been offered a permanent in Melbourne. Higher salary but less travel. We shall see what the offers that finally get put on the table are made of before decision time!

Mel, so good to hear from you. Time just flies when we get on the phone. Sorry I had to cut you short after 1.5 hours!!!!!
Linus, I will get around to you, but don't stay in on my account when the pub calls. Teel, I'll get to you when I get home again. 4 days hee hee, four whole days, hee hee ha ha. They might have to drag me back onto the plane.
Meadow, great pic of a kiwi. supping a drink and wearing his sunglasses and keep the picture in your head for 2 weeks time.
Happy, glad to hear that the pressure is a little less constant friend. Gives you a bit of time to breathe. Presume the house is going on the market shortly??? Always such a fun time. Keep it tidy, clean and welcoming and the b**tards don't come. Leave the rubbish around for just 1/2 hour and they are queuing on the doorstep. Rather you than me. Is there a rush to sell, or can you rent it out and hang on to it for a retirement blessing? Sometimes not a bad option - many of our contracting staff tend to do that. End up with lots of places in different cities but a good income for later.

Enough time to get off here, check out the journal and head back to the daily grind.

Catch you all. Good to see so many posting again.

Nae,
Try to delete your history in the Internet. I'm trying to think how to do it. Delete you history, delete the temporary file, delete your favourites and then try to log in again.
I'll work on it later to see if I can come up with a better course of action.

Brain dead monday.

Hi chickies...no smilie link working today so it will have to be a quick post and look boring as well!!
Thought I had better update you with the goings on in Tell land...he he he!
As I think most of you know I develpoed a large lump on the side of my neck which didn't go down after a week of antilbiotics....over the weekend the lump grew more and more painful and I felt as if I had swollen glands on both sides of my neck which I could feel inside and out! Yesterday I went out for a meal with a friend to a pub about 25minutes from home. It was a delicious Mushroom Stroganoff and we spent some time spending money in the garden centre which is situated right nexy door.I complained to my friend I didn't feel very well but couldn't ut my finger on what was actually wrong. She had seen the lump on my neck and said it was beginning to look like an absess. Five minutes down the road having left the garden centre and I screached the car to a halt in a layby and promptly threw everything up!!! Oooooh sorry! Too much information there!! So I decided to get an appointment with my g.p. today and off I went to see him. I said I thought it was beginning to look like an absess and he agreed and said he would draw off some of the gunge to make sure it was what we thought it was! He kindly said he would inject some local anaesthetic to make it less painful, but as he did so, he pushed too far in and ended up pricking a hole in it before he hasd meant to! So he ended up lancing it there and then...said it looked extremely nasty and gung-filled so he cleaned it all out and flushed it with a sterile solution before dressing it and sending me home with 2 different antibiotics and instuctions to return tomorrow for the nurse to re-dress it....it did occurr to me that he could have given me the dressing and the cleaning solution and I could have either a) dressed it myself...or b) got my neighbour to do it for me!!!I have to laugh at the instructions on the antibiotics..."take 1 four times a day...before food!"...I don't eat 4 times a day!!!!!
Ah well I think I need to go and have an afternoon sleep now and build up some energy reserves...so apologies for not answering anyone's post in particular but I will return....

Oh Linus....how is your absess doing???

Tig I am so glad to see you somewhere at least!!! Just so long as we know you're around and lurking in the wings!! Hope you and the family are well!

Shad~ So good to talk again. Hope I didn't make you late for the outing!!! You didn't have very much time to get ready!
Will be good to have you back for the 4 days! Bet you'll have loads to do and see and read. Or maybe rest!!!
Miss you loads.

Linus~ Can't wait to hear about the house and have all my fingers and toes crossed for you and the family! Saying a little prayer too.
How goes the aches and pains??? Keeping them on the run?? No news of new and exciting antics from the kids????
Hoyour burns are OK and aren't bad!! YIKES!!! Glad the DH helped too! LOL Take care my wounded friend.

Teel~ OMG!!! WTF!!! I certainly hope it gets better soon. And here I thought it was a gland thingy!!! Just as good a professional looks at it to make sure nothing bad is happening to it now that it's open. I know you are one but it would be tough for you to see it! Good luck and take good care of yourself. Eating YOUGURT comes to mind with all these antibiotics before you get bowel problems too! Another wounded friend!! Be careful!

i had a lot of aggro today but nothing I couldn't handle just annoying people. One in particular, DD's ex boss, wanted her to get a shot for the flu somewhere else! LIKE WHERE??? We pushed each other around a bit, she backed off and had to keep her name in place anyway. Usually men have these contests and call them pissing contests. I was surprised she tried to call me to task like this. she must be desperate. I will say I was cool calm and collected till I got off the phone and threw a hissy fit! Feeling much better now!!! I mean my DD weighs all of about 105 at 5'6" and is like a rail and has the handicap. what did she think?!?!? Having vented all this, I feel better now!
Hope you all have a great night and have sweet dreams!
(((((HUGS))))) to all the boo boos and everyone else too!

Tales from downunder for the second day in a row.
Had to come here to check up on the plane bookings as only one receipt has arrived in my mailbox. Seems I might have forgotten to tick the other box for receipt. Phooey. Hope that doesn't get the tax office excited. Too bad.

The ladies loo on our floor of the building is now shut!!! We have to go down to the 3rd or 4th floor to get to the loo. Hope no one gets stuck in the lift! The tiles fell off the wall in our loo and hit one of the ladies on the shoulder. Just fell off?!>! I ask you! We reported that they were loose some time back but nothing got down about them. Now they are scared we will sue if we get tiled on while sitting on the loo!!! so instead of getting someone up to pull the other tiles down, they shut the loo pending investigations. Not good if one drinks a lot of water I can tell you.

So good to see so many of us posting - and Mel being the cool calm and collected variety. Geez that makes such a change from the hotheaded latins we get around here. Can get decapitated from the waving arms if one is not careful.
Okay, better go. Time to move along again.
