Linus~ I can just see them now handcuffing my tires and arresting me for the naked firemen and their metal binder! Hope the back feels better soon. good luck with the disc situation. god that must feel awful. ((((HUGS))))) You and Teel must really be burning up the phone lines. with the holidays coming we really haven't got the $$ right now. Hoping to call a bit after them though. Take good care of the back and fingers are still crossed till the day you actually MOVE into a new place! LOL

Nae~ So sorry you can't get into the journals on your OWN computer. Cannot understand it. wish I could help you. At least we have you here!!

Feeling good over here. Weather is cold but might get a tad warmer. Hope so as I am feeling house bound. The Mall shopping is Monday and I may go just to get out of here!
Maint. man just checked in and the postman just rang too....work is never done! He said I better empty my mailbox if I want more mail!!! LOL Haven't been there in 3-4 days!. Well I better do as I'm told and get my butt down there!
Have a wonderful weekend and hope you all have funtime for yourselves somehow!!:cd:

Default Race News

Meadow - I loved the CoffeeLover, especially the coffee cup and purple slippers ... now I know what I want for Christmas!

Shad - I share your disdain for gray, black, and beige. When we were buying a house and had all the carpet replaced pre-closing, the realtor representing the seller was aghast at my tasteful teal carpeting in the living and dining rooms and the bedrooms in green, blue, and rose - with one in tan because I ran out of colors I liked! I don't understand the whole bland, cookie-cutter mentality. No prejudice here. The getting-lost drive sounds wonderful. I'm looking forward to hearing about where you went and what you saw.

teel - that's great that your infection cleared up so quickly, but now the disc thing? That's awful.

linus - details about the house!! Have you heard anything yet?

Roseblush - do PM Suzanne about your journal problems. She is remarkable at fixing the most obscure computer problems.

Mel - I'm glad that you are feeling so much better. Our first hint was the purloined prod threat!

Okay, RACE NEWS:
I ran/walked/ran/walked the race and didn't fall down! TA-DA!! And in my best time ever. The t-shirts are very cool - running pumpkins with blowing palm trees in the background. We most particularly enjoyed watching the kids' one-mile runs. We are incurable people-watchers. The whole event was like a big street party complete with volunteer police (V-cops) blocking the streets of downtown Cocoa Beach and people from the bars standing on the sidewalks with their beers and drinks cheering the runners or maybe just being rowdy - who knows or cares! Good time had by all.

Tonight is BallGame Night at our house - Game One of the World Series. We have popcorn and celery sticks ready, party animals that we are!

Happy Sunday everyone! And a crappy one it is here in NJ. Been too cold to go out. Tried yesterday but never made it very far. Soon it will be time for watercolors! I have saved it all for when I can no longer go out. I am also thinking of asking Jen if she would like to do it together once or twice a month. Make a paint date. We'll see.

Tig~ the t-shirt sounded very cute. Pumpkins and palms!
Congratulations on the race!!! Way To Go!! Nice that you didn't try to rearrange your nose again!!! Congrats on that too!
I love to people watch and usually get caught at it too!
If I had been Jeannie, I would have blinked myself right to Cocoa Beach and cheered you on! I miss Florida. Used to visit with the relatives in the Summer many years ago. Have fun with the Ball Game!

Linus~Chocolate and meat??? Those are 2 of my favorites!!!
Maybe a bit of chips and dip too. Some olives and pickles. Some ice cream. I'll pick some up at the store and meet you at Tig's!

Default Tonight's World Series Game

The plan for tonight's treats are popcorn and mango. We have FF CHOCOLATE pudding and leftover oven-'fried' chicken that the Hubster makes that is wonderful for our pre-game meal. Now if everybody shows up here tonight, I know he can whip up a batch of his famous white chili to take away the chill (we'll just turn down the air conditioner in honor of Mel). We'll splurge with extra diet root beer and homemade brownies. And open a few bottles of wine - we've got red and white. And of course, we have Southern Sippin' Whiskey. We're good; not Perfect!

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME... http://www.niehs.nih.gov/kids/lyrics/ballgame.htm

Oi Miss Kirsty! Stop giving away my secrets as to how mad I really am!!!....... For the ininitiated here comes my excuse! I really couldn't be bothered to cook the other evening and it was time I ate 'cos I'd had my insulin so I raided the freexer and found a very frozen solid bag of Indian rice mixture with veggies and chicken...you can heat it up in a wok or put it in the microwave...well I tried to pour some of the stuff out...its supposed to be "free-flow!" but it was absolutely frozen in a solid rock so I took the hammer to it!!! Linus was on the phone at the time so heard me sculpturing this boulder of rice down to a more manageable rock that would fit in the dish!!! (I didna think she would let on to the world what a totally mad chick I am, though!

Sorry for MIA again....I don't know....I just don't seem to have any energy lately and here I am up and awake at my usual time of 01:40hrs with a splitting headache...having dreamt very realistic dreams about the house being broken in to and other things. I hate that bit when your brain has woken but the message has not got through to your body and you hear things and think things are happening which of course they are not....and you cannot get the messages through to your body to move and wake up properly!! I dreamt too that I had rung a friend who lives 60 miles away and I had woken her up at about 04:30hrs!!!

I have been an absolute with eating this week...dare not get on the scales this week! I shall begin again in earnest today!! I really don't understand how I can sabotage everything when I was actually doing quite well for a change!

Good to read everyone's news....Tig   on your successfull run. I will go and look at the site you quoted in a sec when I have finished here...roll on The New York marathon! The tee-shirts sound great! I thought though you might have been running IN a pumkin!!!! Hee hee! Well done m'dear....you have achieved something I KNOW I never will!!!

Linus...fingers, toes and everything else crossed as you wait for news of this new house. Sounds absolutely up your street!(literally!) I DO hope you hear very soon and are not kept wondering for days on end!! Imagine Christmas deccies going up in a new place...Yaa Hooo!!!!! Glad that your absess is disappearing down of its own accord...you have enough to be concerned about!!Hope the back and hip and everything else is feeling a lot better now...I will endeavour to ring you this evening....

I did go out for dinner with three other people I know on Saturday night. I have to say I didn't really enjoy myself. It was in a pizza place that also did pasta and it was extremely noisy. The others all had a main course and a desert but I am not in to deserts so I just had a main...'twas alright but I certainly wasn't my normal self. normally whan I am out for dinner I do have a good time but my heart wasn't in the right frame of mind! My eating seems to have been all over the plave this past week. Blame it on the antibiotics! The absess is healing well now but I still feel pretty awfull as far as everything else is concerned! I have decided that perhaps the right sided injections did do some good afterall so I suppose I ought to write and ask Dr. Munglani if he would consider injecting the left sided joints too. Whether or not I could actually stand the undescibable pain that having the injections causes before I actually feel any better is another thought entirely!!!

Mel I am glad you and Jen are feeling better now...wrap up warm whilst you are out in the Mall!! And NO zooming along at the speed of light! Just consider the wind-chill factor!

Ok thats it from me. Headache probably not being helped be so I amk off back to bed......bye bye!!!!!

I came back!! Why I really don't know but here I am.
Had a lovely weekend and my soul is fulfilled and cheered once more. I went to the National Rhododendron gardens. It was cool, damp and foggy up in them thar hills. However we can't let that stop up. Took some lovely photos which you will get to see next weekend as I will be home for 4 days. Yahoo.
Then I went to Marysville and Healesville and a lot of places in between. Drive around 500 kilometres.

Sunday I drove to the Mornington Peninsular and saw the sea. I took a coastal tour and then decided to visit a old house which is reputed to have a wonderful garden. Biggest problem was that it is closed to the public on weekends. I had to peer over and through the fences. I wanted to go to a Maze but didn't really have enough time - it would have taken me a couple of hours at least and I needed to get the car back to Melbourne by 5 o'clock. So I will put that on the list for next time - along with a winery containing 20000 rose bushes!!!!

So my life is back to being technicolour again even if my Visa card is climbing. Sometimes it just has to be done I guess. I enjoyed it. Fun, fun, fun.

Tig so good to here you did well in the Pumpkin patch. Now on to the next one hey? Wish I was there to keep you company.

For the others, look after yourselves. no more abscesses (sp) no more sore bits either. Mel stay upstairs and sort out the Christmas presents. Good to here from you all. Fingers are crossed that the house comes through Linus.

By the way, feed back on my interview. They were IMPRESSED (gulp) They are getting the details finalised and hope to make an offer next week. May well be number 3 on the shifting scene.

Gotta go. Outa time once more

Love yo all.

Default Tea anyone?

I am ambling through my mind, not doing much exercise, no bellydancing, did March to fitness twice last week but nothing regular which effects me. I feel more blah when I'm not exercising, you would think I would want to energize myself and get out of this funk, must be the weather... the rain makes me want to drink tea and sigh Took a bubblebath last night to nurture myself in a none sweaty way, lovely scented bubbles and the cat staring at me

Shad-Congratulations! We all know you are impressive, glad to see the working world agrees. Can't wait to view your pics.

Mel-the weather here is foul too, nasty when you want to breath deep of fresh air and wind up drowning in the downpour Hmm, on the new calendar you are getting... here is a starter to get you in the mood
AB's chest has been known to set many a lady aflame!

Teel-OMG! Food abuse. You certainly are taking this fighting the calories thing to an extreme. Put down the hammer and step away from the rice madam, we don't want a messy scene here How is your owie? Has it gone away?

Tig-running wow... great job. Does Cocoa Beach look as pristine and glorious as it did in the I dream of Jeannie episodes? Whiskey, mmm, mixed with a bit of orange juice makes a grand beverage (I can't drink the hard stuff without a mixer)

Linus-Good energy for your new digs. Let the fairy of good fortune shine upon you and make all that you wish for come true.

Rose-how goes it? you haven't been zapped and unable to post here too have you? Are you busy painting?

Happy-What mischief are you up to? Have you started singing lessons to keep up with those southerners who sing and hum all day long? You have so much ahead of you!

Remember you must treat your inner dragons with respect and give them plenty of coffee!

Default Morning All

I am feeding my inner dragon with my beverage of choice this morning. The pics are great, thanks so much for sharing them with us. I am definitely a garden tea drinker....I found a new tea in boise and bought some for the evening chilly nights ahead.
It was great to see my boys and spend some time with them. I made a huge turkey dinner with all the fixings and some other meals for them. I missed my ex so that worked out great. He spent last night there the boys really got the parent overload. Jesse played his first hockey games of the season and was great....they won 9 to 2 and 9 to 7 the next day. I don't get as nervouse watching this level of hockey as I did in high school I guess I don't have as much emotional investment. When he was goal tending in high school I could never sit at a game....
THe roads were good and I made good time getting home yesterday just left when the ice was melting from the sun so the travel was safer. It is such a long drive for me but worth it. I showed Jesse my watercolors and he played with them for a while so I have a pic he did in my book now too.
It is much colder here now and I will need to get my heater on soon. I enjoyed my luncheon for my organization I went to on Saturday too. I met a lady who had some pics of her before and after from weight loss and oh my gosh I have never seen such a dramatic change. She was very inspiring.
I still can not get into the journals or even be able to book mark it or anything on my computer but on Chad's it went right there all the time...soooo frustrating for me...... I miss not being in there especially to ready my buddies from here....it is a bummer!
Thanks for the thoughts this weekend ladies..... talk to you all this week sometime....
Peace,
Nae

Hi All,
I am sooooooo inundated here that I just want to curl in a ball and nap and hide away from it all. The phone rings constantly, appointments every day all sorts of things going on, things to plan and get ready for, and they want me to learn new stuff for the new job and next month I will take a short trip down to the office where one person will TURN OVER some stuff to me. That means (and we all KNOW this) that I will be handling some new stuff before I'M EVEN AT THE NEW PLACE. I don't want to think about it. When I get up in the middle of the night for the pee run, I find that I am dreaming about moving. There's so much going on that I really feel is too premature to deal with at this point. And of course DH and I are at opposite ends at times of what needs to done at the moment. And the 3 year old boy next door is none too happy to hear that like his nanna, I will be leaving soon.

And, I have had some major dental work done on Friday because I'm trying to get all the doctor / dentist things done before I move and have to find new ones not to mention trying to get time off when you are new on the job. Had 2 teeth filed down for crowns, a nasty extraction and a bone graft on Thursday. My mouth is all stitched up and I look perfect for Halloween.

Needless to say that dieting has been the last thing on my mind. I am getting my exercise in other ways and the eating has been somewhat erratic and on the fly.

I have been peeking in here but mostly quick flybys. And it will probably stay that way until well after the new year when we get settled in. I just hope I don't bust out of the last of the clothes that fit me.

Good luck with the doctor appointments, interviews, pain treatments, frozen food banging and all the other things that are keeping us all busy at the moment.

Press on everyone, that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right? Sending good thoughts to all of you. Good luck to Shad on the interview, crossed fingers for Linus for the new housing and high hopes to Teel for some pain relief treatments that work. Enjoy the paints Mel and these last few glorious days of the fall weather - bare trees, cold rain and chilly winds will be upon us soon.

Sorry I can't respond to everyone individually but right now the doorbell AND the telephone are ringing. I am thinking of you all and wishing good thoughts for everyone.

And my advice for anyone who is moving - trash everything and start all over fresh - yes it's expensive but a lot less WORK
