And hello from a reasonably sunny day in England where it is 11 degrees!!!
Good grief it took all morning to read everyone's posts!
Now where to start!!
LINUS I hope your head is feeling rather better by now and that you did enjoy your trip to the pub last night. Sympathies to you for having a neighbour who wants to clean up her flat upstairs at some un-godly hour in the morning! Find out where her fuse box is for next time she thinks she needs to do housework! Hasn't anyone ever told her Sunday is a day of rest?
TIG Welcome to you on this site that is over-run by mad women from all over the world! I looked on your public profile and there is nowt on it!! Inquiring minds need to know things like how old you are and how in heaven you are running for 30 minutes in the sand!! Bionic woman, move over!!!! Good luck for Pumpkins in the Park and Creaky Bones!! You have my total admiration!
SHAD thanks for the giggle re: the Aussie elections!! And as for our T.B., you are welcome to him! I don't want him!!! I hope you have had a good weekend in your own abode and feel refreshed enough to tackle the next three weeks head on like a raging bull... Well done for doing your tax returns! I hope your accountant agrees with your figues! They don't usually, in my opinion!!
WISH'NHow come Ty can eat all that for breakfast? Coo lucky him is what I say!! How is the Gf? Now I know what the initials stand for I can safely ask!!
MELODY Are you recovering from the weeks nighmarish activities? And how is Jen doing now? Talking of Jen..well her bird actually...I have never met a bird that loves chicken or turkey! There again, till I had Holly, I didn't know how partial a Westie could be to salmon and Chinese (Takeaway Indian is her absolute favourite!) and mushroom soup...and everything else for that matter...

I had a great dinner last night so I thought I would share the recipie with you.
Pan fry a salmon fillet steak in olive oil. Remove. In same pan fry onion, red pepper (capiscums I think you will know them as!), sweetcorn kernals and baby courgettes (zuccini) When cooked add the salmon and mix well. Serve on a bed of spagetti or linguini or any other pasta that takes your fancy!! I gave it 10/10!!
I have half of the salmon fillet for tonight and I think I will try and do a rissotto....I will let you know when I next post!!

I can't stop laughing with the picture in my head of Linus yelling at the movers!!! But I thought they were called bahoogies or something like that?!?!
I will be chuckling about this all day long!!! Hope you get a nap in there somewhere or no one near you will be safe till nightfall! I think I had a naked fireman dream! Not sure. I'll try again tonite!

Teel~I feel fully recovered. Jen went to the trailer for the weekend. The seniors have been a tad jumpy but this too shall pass. Hope the back of yours is behaving and you feel OK. The food sounded great but I am not a fishy fan! I might try this with a "lighter" tasting fish though. I'll have to twist my own arm to do it though! LOL I have never tried making rissotto or couscous. something else to attempt!

I best make this short. I think I used up all my time for the week by posting so much yesterday!!! gorgeous day here and yesterday afternoon was too! Unusual weather this year but I'll take as many good days that come along. More cleaning, sorting and riding to do so I better get on with it. Have a great Sunday!

A quick post for this afternoon to say that there is a brilliant site for Miss Happy to loook round and aquant herself with the sights and sounds of Tennessee. It is tennessee.gov A fantastic site with lots of photos of scenery and buildings, architecture, waterfalls and wildlife. It looks a fantastic place to live!
ROCK ISLAND STATE PARK looks very pretty. Anyway, there is something for you to look at to ease yourself through Sunday afternoon! Enjoy!

If I go I may see you all on Tuesday after food shopping Have a great day tomorrow. A cold wave is here and I am freezing! Best turn up the radiators!

Angry

Oh blast and drat...no smilie link this morning! And yes it IS morning here in England as it has just turned 00:44hrs and as I can't sleep I thought I'd come and have a chat...but only Miss Mel has posted since I did earlier yesterday afternoon!!

Well as planned I did make a wonderful rissotto for last nights dinner. It was scrumpious! even if I do say so myself!! Except that I ate far too much and for some reason my blood glucose levels went soaring up through the roof-tops and are still hanging around in the ether somewhere!!!!

I am not really suprised I am not asleep actually. I have done absolutely nothing all weekend...and that includes getting dressed Pain levels are rather overwhelming at present and I have not had any spare energy reserves to use to help me in such mundane activities as getting dressed!! I slept yesterday afternoon ( :clap and was so exhausted after dinner (all that stirring the rissotto!) I went to bed yesterday evening for a couple of hours. Actually it was probably nearer three! So here I am aawake!
Meadow I forgot to say hello to you in yesterday mornings post. Sorry! I shall now make amends...can't be upsetting you ! Your pictures are always beautiful and very interesting. I loved the Autumn dew one a few days back and the nature ones always bring a smile! I STILL want to know how you download them though! I loved the blind man turkey hunter one! I told the scene to my mum who is 84...gave her a chuckle! I wonder if the parents had turkey for dinner yesterday, he he he!!! (no turkey smilie).
I printed off a map of America yesterday...mainly so I can put people in their geographical places as I have precious little idea of where about 47 out of the 49 states are located! Of course me being short on the brain cells thought British Columbia was in America...couldn't find it!( I wonder why? HEE HEE) So I have just peeked at your public profile and see you are actually not in the USA at all but in Canada!!! Oh dear no wonder I didn't get a very good mark in my geography exam when at school!!!
Happy my friend soon to be a Southern Belle...how was your weekend? Full of happy laughter and great companionship I hope! Lots of merry making and food and contact numbers (not the zip codes again, pleeeeeeease!). Excuse me if I have missed this info somewhere down the line, but do you know whereabouts you and DH are moving to in Tennessee? (aren't I good? I can spell it now! As I said yesterday having perused through the official governmental site for tourists, I think it looks a great place...lots of woods and green areas to get out and about on your bike with DH!
Linus I hope everything is ok up in your part of the country? Has dad settled back properly in his own home again? No lasting horrible effects from trying to make the floor his bed? So you will soon have new neighbours up in the upstairs flat? Hope they turn out to be just what neighbours are suppposed to be like...goodly, kindly, helpful. ready to join in any party instead of calling the noise abation society or the environmental health department! Actually I am suprised to see that professional cleaning services do work on a Sunday at all... Oh and I hope you get some correspondance from the housing department..I shall watch the sky northward and see what colour it turns as the day progresses!!
Mel I see you have an appointment with the eye doctor today! I hope he gives them a clean bill of health. I wonder why they rang? Perhaps, as you say, it is being cancelled...I think they ought to pay if they cancel appoint,ents...afterall, we the public have to fork out a cancellation fee so why shouldn't they, too????
Well thats it from me for the time being! Probably see you later...have no plans for today, or tomorrow for that matter. Oh yes I have! I nearly forgot! Tut tut! I made an appointment to see my long suffering physiotherapist tomorrow. I shall scream at her if she hurts me too much!

Weight=173~lost the 3lbs I gained last week!
Inches are the same as last week.

I am rather shocked because I haven't been all that good. Had the 2 donuts and assorted coffee drinks! But I am very happy!!!

Teel~ Sorry you couldn't sleep. I do hate when that happens myself. You would think with a full tummy of good food that contentment and sleep would have been your friend! A big congratulations on your loss!!!
Great job!!

Well I have to get off the PC so the phone can ring.ee ya later
Have a wonderful day and Happy Columbus Day!!

Default Happy Thanksgiving!

We aren't having turkey tonight, maybe next weekend Nice to just relax and enjoy a lie in.

Teel- the way I have been posting pics is to find a link, usually an image on google and right click on the image, copy the url address and then paste it in here using that little mountain picture icon up top of this message window. I'm sorry you are finding sleeping difficult, did you find a good book to occupy your time while you were up? I like Sue Grafton mysteries. I just finished "Q is for Quarry", amazing how quickly I can plow through one of her novels, I have four others lying about the house partially read. I need a book that clicks along, too much detail and it just isn't as enjoyable.
You are sleepy, very sleepy!

Mel-Hope your eye appointment is on, nice to have these sorted. Fingers crossed all is well.

Shad-thank you for the tip on emailing that grower. He emailed me back and gave me another email for a grower in the US. So I still need to contact that grower and see if he ships to Canada or knows someone here who can hook me up. Quite the little go around Good energy for your weeks in Melbourne, adventure awaits you!!

Hello and big wave to everyone else out there enjoying their day

Default hi all

good evening chickies and how are we all ? having a better day than me i hope im in PAIN the hip replacement might be sooner than the surgeon or me had thought
its bloody sore mind you the rain isnt helping
have spent the day arguing with the bloody housing association and then spent the evening cleaning out the goldfish and doing a partial and a plant trim on the tropical fish tank and then i took the dogs for a nice run incase walking helped easing the hip {failed miserably}
so my goldfish can now see out their tank and the tropicals have once again realised that they can find there way round the plants and are now fighting so im going to go and sit on my heat pad and fall asleep
speak to you all later

Went to the eye guys. Got a new prescription for new glasses. A philanthropic organization connected with this hosp. said they would pay for the mistake of the too strong script from last month! YAY ME!!! I was going to fork it out myself and was holding my breath but I was saved. This must be my lucky day. There is no way to perfectly correct my vision and the last doctor gave a too aggressive script that crossed my eyes! This new lady saw no rosacea in or near the eyes and I do not have to go back to the surgeons till January 2005!!! The glasses should be ready by next week the latest. If I have any problems just to start the meds again by myself. I am a happy camper to say the very least. They loved my new Mercedes and wanted to see the tricks it can do! We all had a great laugh at some of the positions! Every clinic I go to they want to see what it can do! I feel like a comedy act!
Hope you all have a great night. I know I will now!

Meadow~ I am still looking for the "little mountain" icon! LOL I was going to surprise you with a pic but can't figure it out! lol HELP!!! I love the squirrels but I think mine say HERE COMES THE NUT!! I will miss my friends soon.
the last ride was rather cold and my face was frozen! Hope you get your daffies! good l;uck!

Teel~ Thanks!! I am so happy today!!! LOL

Linus...friend...what can we say? I hope the pad helps some and eases that hip. Have a good sleep and we almost posted at the same time!!! How did the fight with housing go? Still about the house and the kids being boys? See ya later.

This has been a very good day for me so I better hold on tight to it! Gonna go and eat something before I start cheating and eating anything and everything in sight!!!

Default Picturing

Mel-Okay, in the advanced message window there is a line of options, the little picture icon (that looks like a mountain) is next to the earth/paperclip pic under the color and size boxes. Once you have found a picture on the web, right click on it and get the url address, copy it, then hop over here and click on that mountain image, paste it in the box that comes up and fingers crossed you will have that image on here.
Yippee! for your glasses getting fixed!

Linus-
I'm sorry you are in pain, try and do something nice for yourself.
