Good morning everyone,
A crazy week this was. The office "closed" on Thursday so there was the ceremonial saying good bye to everyone and switching contact information. It was sort of sad

and drove the point home that we were all parting ways. I still haven't heard anything on the job - hope shines eternal on Monday. Weekends in October are quickly filling up - am meeting sister and her family for dinner today, it's her birthday today, BIL's tomorrow. Next weekend I will be headed to the great state of Texas for one last meeting with my group from work - we are getting together at our own cost for one last party. Weekend after that is a family get together for Mum's birthday. And then a group of my childhood friends are getting together for our twice a year meet up and

some. So this week has been busy planning and coordinating.
With the cooler weather setting in, there is no doubt that I indeed have arthritis. I looked up an anti arthritis diet - no wonder I hurt. No sugar, caffeine, citrus, salt,
red meat, dairy products, additives, soft drinks, flour, eggplants, red peppers, tomatoes, white potatoes, tobacco. At least I can scratch the tobacco off the list but heck - after all that, salt is bad for the swelling foot, fats give me heartburn, sugar bloats me up - crikey, what's a person to eat? Almost makes me hope they come out with the futuristic little pill that is tasteless yet gives you all your nutrients that your body needs to survive? I give up already! I did make a delicious beef vegetable soup that I ate all week - salt be

- tho I did make an effort to use just the bare minimum. I am still down a pound and a half for the week so that makes me happy.
Teel, I am sorry to hear that your injections are doing nothing better than causing you more pain and sleepless nights. Sending you big

from across the pond. Same for you Linus - sounds as if you are experiencing the big hurt yourself. I am glad that through it all you ladies can still keep your humor about you.
Shad, I'm sure you are counting the days until your contract is up. Shouldn't be much longer, eh? Wishing you a speedy trip home. And thank you so much for your kind note. It really made me feel good.

Good to hear you got in such a long, long walk - that's the girl I know - pushing along and exploring the world - even if at times it's more of an exploration than intended.

Meadow on the NSV. Just turn the heat up in the house and prance around in those shorts of yours! It's always nice to find that we can fit into something that we previously couldn't get past the knees!
Oooh Mel, your post has put me in the mood for a BBQ

Yesterday I went out shopping, got home sort of late and picked up some steaks for a quick meal. DH put them on the grill - it was cold enough that we had to lean over the grill to keep warm outside but oooh oooh were they good with a salad and baked potato. Simple meal, normal portions and yum yum yum. I could do with one more batch of potato salad before the season is done

I used to think I was a sweets-a-holic and now I'm realizing that it's carbs that lure me to the dark side
DH took him motorcycle out for a ride today - first time all year. I've got some laundry to do, pressies to wrap, and a bit of fly ladying to be done before we head out to dinner with my sister. Better get rolling. Take care all - my apologies to not answering everyone individually.
