This is not turning out to be the relaxing weekend I had planned the best laidf plans.........ha ha!
I have 11 1/2 cans completed. I did snow with snowmen and bright red scarves. they look adorable if I do say so myself!! I need 8 more cans for an even 20. Gotta go look in the garbage room! YUCK! Taking a break for a few minutes before the painters need something ELSE! (but they are so cute and come in assorted ages and sizes)

Linus~ Thanks for the update. Please say hello for me too! Can't afford the telly right now. Haven't paid the last bill yet!!! And Jen needs to call Canada for Grandma. She is losing her eyesight with macular degeneration and is a nervous wreck right now. But I am thinking of Teel all the same and wish her well. Send me the address of the hospital if you have it??? Give her a kiss from us!

Nae~ The cans are for the nursing homes that the town's Women's Club visit every year. I have done 50 and 40 in the past but they still have leftovers from last year. I like to do at least one "outside" volunteer job a year. The rest are always in this bldg. IF I ONLY HAD A CAR!! Hope you make time for your exercising!! I am thinking of going down the street for a quick ride to the store to get a Starbuck's coffe for tomorrow! I just ran out. Have a good time outside too?? Very cold there?? Our first dusting has melted and it is already 41*. I will have to bundle up to ride in this temp!! Cold when the air flys by with my speed! LOL
Do they put salt licks down for the deer near you? Was wondering if they support wildlife or is there already too much of it!

Have a great day Chicks of the World! Hope Meadow is feeling better too! Nasty Flu. Happy I send you a fine hello and some energy so you can get the job done!!! Adios Amigas!!! Hasta luego!

Yes Monday is the bestest Mall! Borders Bookstore!! YAY!!
Each year I go there to look for an ornament book where you punch them out and make them. Usually they are on the sale table and I love them. Been doing it for a few years now. Hope they have something there thius year although I may be a trifle early! Too cold and windy for a ride today so I will concentrate on the indpoor stuff! I foud 3 Victorian Paper Dolls and instructions at www.victorianornaments.com
I printed them out on glossy photo paper and glued them to thin cardboard last night. But I need sharper scissors. They will be my project this month. Maybe Xmas presents for next year!

Well if I don't get off the pc nothing will get done and I need to clean my chair for tomorrow's trip! I hope everyone is well and send good thoughts Teel's way.
Miss Meadow......where are you?!?! Hope it's not a relapse.
Not like you to be this silent.
Happy~ sending hugs and good thoughts still.
Nae~ thinking I need to live near you!! Like a picture postcard!

Default Morning All

Hi everyone, I found Mel online this morning. Hope all is well out that way...has it stopped raining? Mel, is going to get us all in the spirit of christmas with all of her preparations and joy! thanks for the site Mel. I am a victorian fan myself.
Yesterday, was beautiful here again and I used my electric chain saw to cut down a dead tree. I put it in a stand and am going to spray paint it and get it ready for a group I belong too. I can tell it will either look great or ghastly!!!! I hope it is the former.
I put up my privacy signs yesterday too. People are so use to driving through on my road so we will see how many people it stops. People don't like change. I am sure they wouldn't appreciate everyone coming through their yards and driving and relieving their dogs. I don't mind the foot traffic but being up here all alone is a concern for me. I know it isn't politically correct but I am getting myself a hand gun for christmas....... I want to be able to protect myself at home and when I go camping.... not from the critters but from the odd balls out there.
So ladies what do you think of the Scott Peterson verdict? Any thoughts?
Hope all is well with everyone and we wish Teel would get better and get back home.
Have a great weekend everyone...... let's share some traditions your families participate in for the holidays.
Have a Great Day,
Nae

Taking a break!

Nae~ So good to see you here!! Hope the trespassers can read! I think the gun is a good idea. I am all for self defense. Just make sure you don;t hit the deer!
Your views must be like Thomas Kinkade's paintings!! Gotta love nature!

Linus~ I looked up ginae and found seashells! I am assuming that she didn't swallow any of them. Will wait to hear more! In the meantime.....thanks for the updates. I really appreciate them. ((((((HUGS)))))) for Teel. Will she be in the hospital long?? Send me the addie then please?!?!? Or should I mail it to her home????? Inquiring minds want to know

I packed the cans in a bag and delivered them to the woman upstairs. She will fill them with cookies and candy and off they will go. I still need 8 more! But she says 12 are enough. got all my presents sorted and put into cartons for wrapping when I get some paper. Just the kids this year and some small gifts for the office/maintenance. They did nice things for me too during the year. Well I better go and clear off the bed. Still piled with assorted junk! See ya later.

Hello everyone,

One of our cats died last night. She was the only cat that ever adopted us. She hung around outside, crying at the windows, sitting on the car roof and peering at us, till we invited her in. We have had her for over 10 years, though I have no sense of time, I thought it was only 6 years, till my husband and I started reminising about her... don't know how old she was. Her name was Brownie, she was a beautiful tortoise shell tabby. She was a lovely, friendly cat. I knew when she stopped eating that she was fading. I've had a few cats who died of old age. She had a seizure. I was patting her when she let out her last little gasps of air. We are all in tears and are going to bury her out under the rosebush in my garden.

I am so sorry to hear that Teel is in the hospital! I hope they can assist her in her recovery from this "ginae" unknown ailment, hopefully all the tests have shown them the way and she will be home soon.

Thank you Linus for being our ears on this, it isn't nice to be in the dark. What does good enough mean? Adequate? Feeling content? Ready to punch a wall if one more person asks a dumb question?

Hey Mel! You little Christmas angel you. How fabulous. Making Christmas ornaments... I used to love making porcupine star balls and gluing glitter all over them. I should get some of those make your own ornament kits, I could make them with the kids and we could make a tradition out of it. Glue and glitter... Whee!

Rose, spray painting a dead tree... what is that about? What kind of group does that? Tree recycling? I hope you get lessons on the gun if you get one, they are dangerous and if you have one in your hand leveled at an intruder you had better know how and be prepared to pull that trigger because if they get it away from you... well, be careful.

Shad that getting only half the keychains in the right design sucks, I hope the vendor was understanding and allowed the exchange with no trouble. I think markets are a wonderful place to stroll and enjoy the different displays, I usually buy something I don't need just because it is pretty or whimsical, just can't resist. Watch out for the fried food vendors though, I remember being at a market in Florida once and they had these doughnut type things called "funnel cakes" dusted with cinnamon and sugar... slurp!

Hi Girls,
It's been nuts here. I'm barely home and when I am I have to rush out because someone is showing the house. Good news is that it's getting shown alot 2 to 3 times a day, bad news is that it's such a hassle picking up and leaving all the time. I hope to have a stretch of quiet time tonight to do a proper post. Take care chickies...

Linus my buddy, my friend. I just saw your post about the Zyban. I am there for you. Good luck and that's wonderful news that you set a quit date. Will still take a will of iron to resist but you can do it. Suck on an empty straw when you get the urge - then they can call us both nutters.

EEEEKKKKK - wrote Teel, meant LINUS.

I JUST LOST AOL AND MY POST!!!

Meadow~ Let me try this again. I am very sorry to hear about your loss. Pets are so dear to their families and how great that he adopted you! Nice story. I miss pets. birds just don't cut it!
Hope you are feeling more like your Meadow Self! Missed seeing your picturesque posts!!!

Linus! CONGRATULATIONS AND JUST DO YOUR BEST!! It's all any one can ask. Good luck and fingers crossed! I am rooting for you. I won't lie and say it's so easy but I will tell you it's worth it!!! My breathing alone is soooo much better. Take care. Hope you get to talk to Teel. I am sending the note to the house. She will probably be home soon you think?????

Happy~ Nice to see you but understand the rushing around all this must bring to you and DH. Take care, good luck and know in your heart we are thinking of you.

Today was gorgeous and went to the Mall. Got all the bits and pieces I was missing and I am done. If not....toobad....cause the wallet is empty! I came home and found two gorgeous palm plants about 4' tall from the opening of a bldg they are rennovating. They were getting tossed out so we repotted them and placed them in the lobby! They look stunning. I tossed out the two old ones. Hopelessy filled with bugs and dying no matter what I used. Then I came up to sort out presents again and STILL did not buy paper!!! I am tired and need to shower, Just ate dinner. Bedtime is right arounfd the corner! Have a lovely evening/morning and see you soon!

Day 3 and I am still talking to myself. I've taken showers and washed with sweet smelling soaps, put on deodorant and even powdered myself! Changed my undies regularly and my clothes are fres each morning and still.....no one come out to play!

Went for a ride today and did 2 loads of wash. Not good choices in food though! Bad Mel! The weather and doing too much are affecting me. I proved it this week. So I will have to try and separate my shopping days and wash days etc. It will take a bit of planning but soon I'll have nothing better to do than make a new schedule!!! winter will be upon us and I'll have loads of time to get everything done. Tomorrow will be in the 60's so see you late in the afternoon. Hope every Chick is well and happy! Take care y'all!

Hiya all.
Sorry to have been away for so long, only now have time to catch up. Nothing new happening here, just working away trying to get as much finished as possible so the guy who is getting my work doesn't have too much to do after I have gone. I made a bit of a fuss about the length of time it is taking to get my work checked and qa'd and holy heck, the pile on the desk is getting bigger all the time!. Amazing what a bit of agro will achieve from time to time. If they had have done this to me 6 weeks back I may not have been so keen to leave!!!! Still, water under the bridge now.

I'm considering getting a car for the weekend and going away again. Depends on the weather forecast, although the long range one is not too bad - what am I talking about - the weekend starts tomorrow.

I'm still going off down to the gym 4 times a week. The young guys that own the business were giving me some free days - particularly if they were late opening. I had to tell them off Tuesday. I mean, once in a while is appreciated - it's all appreciated - but they too have to make a living. They are not in business to give old girls a free ride. You should have seen them snap too when I appeared this morning. Didn't want to risk getting told off twice I guess. Then one of them was out sneaking a smoke when I finished weights and left today. Poor soul tried to hide what he was doing, I told him off anyway. We have our little jokes. It's nice to know I can still scare the living daylights out of some of these young men.

Only 6 and 1/2 working days to finish now. 81/2 days left in Victoria. I must say I like Melbourne. Just can't stand this job. The city is interesting, good architecture, wonderful restaurants and a sense of sanity and humour missing in Sydney. Should I ever want to live in a big city - this would be it!

Have a relaxing couple of days all of you. Sounds like some of you need it. Sorry I can't reply to each and every one, however I must mention Meadow and sympathise with the loss of a much loved cat. It's so hard to lose a pet. So little warning, so much love. And also Linus, please pass along my best wishes to Teel. I will be in touch with her as soon as I get back home.

Take care

Default Morning All

Sorry Mel don't mean to leave you hear all alone. How have you been? Are all the cans done now and readyfor delivery? They sound adorable. When I go back up to montana for turkey dya next week I need to get my list of stuff at the craft store so I can finish my projects. I always start with the best of intentions. What is happening in the building for turkey day?
Shad so glad you are getting to the end of your days. On my trip down under I didn't make it that far but did get to Wilson's Promontory and stayed in the cabins and did some hiking. I have posters of the area up in my bedroom it was so breathtaking for me. Oz has a special place in my heart and memory. When and where does the next job start? Hope you are doing well.
Linus, how are you doing? Any news and Teel lately? I do hope you are all taking care of yourselves. The boys doing alright? Miss your posts and take on life.....
Happy sounds besides herself with all that is unfolding in her life. Take a deep breath and take care of your self girl.... Hope you get the house taken care of soon!
Where is the rest of our gang..... the beginning of the holiday season starting to take our time and attention. I do hope everyone is well and stay healthy.
Teeka and I are doing good and our weather is still so unbelievable. I will let you all know how the dead pine tree for a decoration turns out. Hope to read a bit from everyone by the weekend if possible we can't leave our sweet Mel here alone or she may go off and find some other more talkative friends.
Blessings everyone....
Have a good day!
Love ya,
Nae
