I did make it to Jonesboro and back yesterday. I really like this doctor at Urgent Care. My left sinus has an infection. Told him that I was still bascially getting over sinus surgery. He kinda shook his head and said that this didn't always hold up. Then explained that for me I was getting to the point I couldn't breathe. He gave me three rx's and and injection that had penicillin and a steroid in it. His nurse said that I would feel better with in the next hour and I did, but my fever may come back up during the night. She didn't tell me that I'd have a sleepless night. my aunt always tells me she does this after a steriod injection. Finally sleep came around 4 this morning and I was awake again by 7.20. I was suprised that my pay check was not already at the door. It did get here around 8.30 a.m.

Shad
Hope you are not to miserable at this job. Don't hit me if you get to bored. But I look at the pay check. Do you have access to the computers they are working on? May be you could get some ideas as to what they are wanting you to do. Mel has some good options for when you are bored!

Mel
Yes, stopped by the Toyota dealership and they had the wiper waiting for me. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The dealership is very close to
to Urgent Care. Glad the aches and pains have subsided.

Laura, Michelle, and Annie I'll be back to see what you are doing.

Hello all! TGIF. Getting to work was a challenge thanks to another train accident further up the line - pedestrian vs. train, ended in a fatality to the ped. I didn't wait around the station long since it had just happened and there were delays of unknown duration. I went home and had bf drive me to a Blue Line stop (subway/elevated train) and got to the office shortly after 10 am.

Shad - Well, work is work when it comes down to getting the bills paid. Hopefully this project is well-organized and your assignments are ready for you on Monday. Hope the picture hanging went well and all are level - at the same level, lol.

Mel - Glad you skipped the meeting - you just need to rest and let those aches get bored and go away. I like strong black tea, so I hope the TJ Irish tea does the trick for me. And now I have a testimonial of sorts.

Ceejay - Hope your fever went down and you're feeling better. Did you get the antibiotics. Bummer that you feel bad on your day off!

Annie - Wazzup lady?? Hope all is well in your world. It's Friday and so things are looking up!!

I did the elliptical for 30 min. yesterday. It was hot, humid and really windy when I went home and after walking cycling w/ my backpack AND gym bag, I just didn't want to do anything else, so I didn't. Dinner was BLT sandwiches w/ the T from the garden. Delish.

Have book club tomorrow evening, so I have to make something for that. Not sure what. I've only got about 100 pages left to read, so I should finish the book before the meeting, no problem.

Okay, taking my book and going off to lunch now. Have a good weekend all.

This has been the week from h*LL. The emotions are in a rampage. Make fair warning to all having babies, do not, repeat do not have a Gemini baby. We are not right in the head and too freakin emotional. Something has to give in my brain before I go nuts...I am miserable the majority of the time.

Annie
Hope things settle down.

Laura
Oh no, you don't hear of that many train wrecks. Too sad that involved a pedestrian. Honestly I've done very well on 2.5 hours sleep. I do feel better. It's 8.30 p.m. now and it's getting vvery hard to hold my eyes open.

i've been outside trimming some more on the bushes. my neighbor trimmed hers. had a bit of a scare with one of the rx's. When i got home I notice a different doctor and a different med so I took it back and asked the pharmacist. cocmes to find out my insurance said no go on the payment of Leviquin and the doctor I saw wasn't there today so another doctor re prescribed it. whew.

i'm taking a shower and going to bed. night night

Morning miss Mel
You are an early bird. I'm going to enjoy this much cooler weather myself.

Spent some time outside yesterday trimming the bushes. Today I'm going to mow he front lawn. Don't have to be in Paragould till 2 this afternoon.

Every one have a good week end.

MELS' WEIGHTLOSS JOURNEY (or lack thereof)

My weight has been steadily climbing and I was once again 198.5. That's over 20 lbs since I joined 3FC. So I joined a challenge on Spark People and lost 7 lbs. Then came the face meds which helped me to gain it back.... along with all the comfort foods that went along with feeling sorry for myself.

BUT.......I stuck with the challenge and now weigh 196.
Not a big loss but better than continued gaining.

So I thought if I posted it here I would be even more accountable.

My October mission is:

1. Lose as many pounds as I can
(I am NOT stating a number so I won't be disappointed)

2. Keep journaling

3. Watch my calories

4. Exercise

5. Drink water!!!

Hello all and happy Saturday/Sunday.

Ceejay - Trimming bushes on 2.5 hours sleep?! More power to ya! I'd be dragging butt all day if it were me running on just that amount. Glad the rx was still okay, but scary to think it could be the wrong one they gave you. Have a safe trip to Paragould.

Mel - Enjoy the remaining sunshine and warmth. It's chilly here today, but I'm fine with that. Good October goals, and yay for sticking with the challenge despite the health issues. I have determined my goal by my March '11 physical should be to lose 10% of my weight. I've got 5+ months - plenty of time. Last couple days haven't been good for the water, so good reminder with that goal.

Annie - Sorry it was the week from h*ll for you. I hope you have some "me time" this weekend and spend it doing something that you enjoy and that will relax you. You are so busy w/ the two jobs and dad and house and pet, you need to make sure the limited time to yourself is spent being really good to yourself!

Yesterday was spent mostly on the file project - we had to free up 25 of 60 of our file drawers for the other half of our newly merged group. Ugh. But the boss was willing to part with a lot and if she was willing to toss stuff, so was I, LOL. More to do on Monday, especially consolidating drawers we partially emptied. Jeans day, so I guess that's nice. I'd prefer a sneakers day myself...

Just took my pumpkin loaves out of the oven. I ended up buying 4 cans of pumpkin last year after they announced a shortage, so I decided it was finally a good time to use some of it. Smells good. One loaf will go to the book club tonight. Not sure about the other. Maybe to work, or half to bf's mom.

Okay, more stuff to do. The sun's in and out of the clouds. Not sure if I want to do some garden work right now. Lunch is sounding good about now.

Enjoy your day ladies.

Yum, pumpkin bread. Send some my way, Laura

Ceejay - drive safe. Have a good weekend with the family

Mel -
You and me both - with the weight gain. It's just got to come off again. I don't think I can be trusted with a fridge full of goodies and a pantry with the same. Time to get back with it again. Challenge time.

I will probably do better as I go back to work again. I can at least control how much I eat and what I eat when I am there. So I guess it is time to do as Mel is doing.
Chris arrives on Thursday morning. I'm so looking forward to it. Meantime it is back to the house, garden and gym. I'm off down there in a few minutes to do some weight training.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Catch you later.

Good morning all.

Shad - I agree that being in a routine such as work can help with weight control. I myself have developed some bad habits at work - stopping between train and office for food, making poor choices at lunchtime, etc. Need to work on breaking those. It'll be nice when Chris visits - are you doing that train/garden tour? That sounded nice.

Mel - Glad nothing too exciting happened overnight in the building. Re the file project - for items we're disposing of, we put them in a dumpster (not the giant construction ones, they're like the rolling garbage and recycling bins we have for our house). The dumpster is padlocked w/ only a slot to put the items into (no dumpster diving allowed). The filled dumpster is taken offsite for (hopefully confidential) shredding. Glad we don't have to feed a shredder!!

Book club was pretty good last night, except someone else brought pumkin cake w/ cream cheese frosting. So only one woman ate pumkin loaf - and it was because she didn't want any frosting, lol. Even I didn't have any of mine - someone brought some taffy apple salad and there was chocolate cake because it was someone's b-day and I ate a portion of both of those desserts. As usual, just too much food.

That's okay, I took mine home and I just had a slice with some tea, and I'll definitely be taking one loaf to work tomorrow. Feel free to pop over and have some with your butter, coffee, tea, whatever strikes your fancy. I have other plans for my 3 remaining cans of pumpkin, but I'll hold off on details because I'm already guilty of food porn talking about yesterday's desserts.

It was a late night yesterday and then I woke up relatively early today. No real plans, but I have some laundry to do and we need groceries. Whoopee.

Hope you're all doing something more exciting than me today.

Laura
The pumkin loaf sounds good. I'm in a mood to bake myself and since it's going to be cooler this week it might get done.

Mel
I'm with you on the challenge. I'm not liking the way I fit into my clothes I'm up a dress/pant size too. and the scale at the doctor's office Thursday confirmed that the pounds are up also, and I want to keep my heart as healthy as possible. I hate to exercise but I'm starting to incorporate that back in to a healthy life style. I don't know why but I detest exercise. Both os my sister's do this on a daily basis. I also need to cut back on calories. I eat more healthy than I used to but still do not use portion control.

Shad
I most definitely agree about routine and I've been working on that this past month.
---------
Had some intestinal issues last night. I'm thinking it's due to the antibiotics.
