Neko, I tried that one too and thought it was okay if I picked the meat out seperate from the sauce. There were some really nasty tasting mushrooms in the sauce. =(

I had to take a peek & get on the scales(offical weigh in is Sun. morn),down
4 pounds so far!I can't wait to see how many disappear after I follow P1 strictly!
I love it here!Keep me motivated!

L - lettuce wrap with turkey, ham, cheese, mayo, tomato, avacado, and onion
S - olives
D - grilled halibut with black beans and cheese

S - black beans with salsa and cheese (BTW, am I supposed to rinse them out of the can because I haven't been, but they don't have added sugar)
Too many beans today, oops. My tummy was STARVING though!

That was my problem too. Something about the sauce was just funny.
Everyone's out, I guess. It is Friday night. I'm married so I don't get out much anymore.
LOL. I feel the same way. I prefer to just come home, relax, and spend time with DH. I joke around that I'm anti-social. LOL.
Does anyone know if having the toppings off of a pizza would be okay on P1? Like a supreme pizza that had sauce, cheese, pepperoni, onion, sausage, olive, and mushroom?
Question: In the revised Ph 1 thread it states that you can have unlimited cream cheese substitute, dairy free or 2 tbs of low fat cream cheese.
I've seen all of these delicious sounding cream cheese recipes on the board that I am dying to make, but I know a serving will be more than 2tbs. Especially the cheesecakes. Should I even bother?
Just tonight my stomach was starving so I had some more black beans with salsa and cheese...only to read through the food list again and find that I was only supposed to have 1/2 cup of beans today. Oops.
I'm disappointed that the actual South Beach diet book I bought didn't have more detailed information in it about what foods we can eat and serving sizes. Still though, I am very grateful to have found this website with all the awesome tips, recipes, and support!
Good morning, chickies! I'm on Day 4 today, and I have my company's winter party tonight--formal casino night with TONS of great free food I'm going to eat something before we leave and then hope the buffet has an unbreaded meat selection and a vegetable, which I'm sure it will.
Last night, we went to the movies, and I brought a can of diet ginger ale and a string cheese with me to snack on. Afterwards, we went out to dinner, and I had a great meal. I ignored the bread on the table, and I had a fabulous 6oz filet mignon )no sauces or anything on it), a caesar salad (no croutons), and a grilled vegetable skewer. It was a great meal out, and still mostly on plan (I say mostly because I'm sure the veggies had butter on the outside, but I know if I'd ordered them completely plain, I wouldn't have eaten them at all).
Sorry to those asking questions about cream cheese and Crystal Light and salad dressings--I'm certainly no expert on this plan, so I'm of no help! I gave up on salads since I couldn't find a good dressing, and I just add lemon juice to my water. I have some light cream cheese in the fridge, but I haven't touched it yet.
zoerba, the cheesecake recipe is very rich and makes 16 servings, which comes out to 2 oz.cream cheese/serving. The soup recipe I posted works out the same. If you stick to the serving sizes, it shouldn't be any trouble. Also, in that cheesecake recipe, I have used 3 fat free and 1 lowfat/neufchatel, and it turned out fine. I haven't tried the fat free with the soup yet. The cheesecake is very tempting, which is why I haven't made it in a while. Last time I cut it up and wrapped the slices individually and stuck them in the freezer, to help with the temptation. If you make it, be sure to blend the **** out of the mixture to get it smooth, and I think it's better after it's chilled. Lela, the pictures are amazing! That's a great way to see the stomach reduction, taking a pic from the side like that. I have camera phobia, so I don't have much in the way of before and after pix. Neko, have you found any of those meals that are good? I'm not a big fan of frozen dinners. Jilly, Beliter, murph, SAnativegirl, good morning!
we've got a busy weekend ahead of getting DH ready for his trip, cleaning, groceries, yuck. We planned a date night last night, since DS spent the night at my mom's, and DD was at a friend's sleepover. But she decided to come home at 10:30. She is sad about Daddy leaving. As a matter of fact she ended up snuggling in bed with us. Hope you've got more fun stuff planned this weekend than me!
Zoerbe, nothing antisocial about wanting to spend time at home. Its much cheaper than going out. Especially if you have to throw in the cost a babysitter. And you don't have to worry about hidden fat and sugar in restaurant meals.
I'm a little bit concerned about the lack of portion controlled mentioned in the South Beach Books. You definitely get better information online. If we practiced reasonable portion control in the first place many of us wouldn't be where we are. It's not as if you can eat unlimited beans, olive oil and meat and still lose weight. They do have calories.
Schmoodle Haven't found a decent one yet. I'm generally not into frozen meals either. The meat is usually funny. But there are days when you just don't feel like packing a lunch. But the taste of that last meal will cure me of not wanting to pack lunch for awhile.
Weekend plans? My husband took my son to basketball practice so I have free time til 11:00 a.m. Maybe IO can actually blowdry my hair this morning instead of waiting for it to dry. We're having dinner at a friend's house. It'll be nice to get out for awhile. My son loves to play with their kids. We didn't see them at the holidays so I have to finally get around to wrapping their Christmas presents. Good thing I stocked up on paper in the after Christmas sales, they have 4 kids.
Jilly, is a winter party like a Holiday party but they're too cheap to pay for prime space during December. My husbands boss does that. They had a party last weekend. I asked them what were they celebrating in the middle of January.

haha, that might be part of it, but it actually works out much better because people are so busy during the holiday season--I'd rather not have another obligation in December! Our company does contracting for the government, so a good 90% of our employees do not work in our home office, but rather owrk out at government sites. Having it in January means more people can come since it's a less busy time, so it;s a great time to meet all those people I've spoken with over the phone or processed paperwork for but never met in person. Plus it's not just a party for the sake of a party; there's also an awards ceremony.
It's been some time since I was last here posting maybe 6months. I come back w/ a weight gain( my choices were not the best,eh?) and with renewed energy,& ready to start. I have to back up my weight gage thingie, but just wanted to pop in,say Hi,and also wanted to find the 'Chili' receipe that is so good, can't locate it tho. I had a heck of a time when I went to P-2,and just didn't seem to lose even tho I was careful to not go nuts with carbs. Not careful enough aparently. I'm determined to learn from last time, and keep the losing going with P-2. Nice to meet all of you,I'll be back posting regularly. Take care,Choices
Hey choices! I was on South Beach last year too. I lost 25 and only managed to keep 5 of those pounds off for the past year, so we're pretty much in the same situation. I didn't feel like re-doing my ticker, so I just deleted it entirely.
Jillybean, makes more sense than my husband's holiday party. I can see having it in January for those reasons. Casino night sounds like alot of fun. I went to one, did they have the blackjack and craps tables or something else?
Day 5
Brunch - Eggbeaters, FF cheese, broccoli, turkey bacon
Snack - Skim Latte with S/F Vanilla syrup (can you tell I love my lattes)
Lunch - (Red Lobster) Caesar salad no croutons, trout, broccoli
Snack - SF Jello (Have to make up for the Caesar salad at lunch)
Dinner - At friend's house so I have no idea what I'm getting
