Man, I'm jealous of you guys who can eat the FF cool whip, etc and not binge on the whole thing. I do ok with the sugar-free fudgesicles, but i don't like the ricotta desserts.

I'm doing well today on my first day on P1.
B: 2 eggs
L: taco salad with extra lean ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, green onion, cilantro, no salt taco seasoning, fat free salsa for dressing, reduced fat cheddar cheese

and tons of water!

I did SBD in 2003 and lost about 20 lbs very quickly and easily. I kept it off until last year when I had to take Paxil and gained 30 lbs in a couple of months. After changing meds, I stopped gaining weight, but all I did to lose the 30 was whine about it. Strangely, it wasn't too effective.

Hopefully this will work for me again.

Day 2 on P2! I've pretty much stuck to P1 menu plans since I'm not good AT ALL about measuring and servings and daily allowances. So I figure if I stick to all P1 and just add in oatmeal or an apple, or a WW torilla, I should be fine. Anyone else on P2 here?? How's it going?? I added an apple and oatmeal yesterday and feel fine! I don't want to run someone over on the way to the chocolate now!

B: Low Carb Slim Fast vanilla shake - YUMMMMMY!!
S: Mozz stick and 15 almonds
L: Mock cheese and chicken bake and an apple
S: celery
D: Taco Soup
S: SF fudgesicle

Hello Ladies!

I was just checking in for a minute to say hi and post my menu to keep me on track!

B: Quiche Cups (2)
L: Leftover chicken on salad w/garbanzo beans, cucumbers and LF ranch.
S: Jello cup
D: Taco Bake (A different one from the infamous one, I posted it in a new thread if anyone is interested) w/ ff sour cream and veggies.

Tomorrow is the start of week two on Phase 1 and I'm excited to be getting closer to phase 2.

I hope you are all having a great day!

Jill - I use the Kraft South Beach BBQ sauce. The only place I can find it around here is at Walmart. I also use the One Carb Ketchup but I can't remember if it is Hunts or Heinz. It has Splenda. I usually buy several bottles at a time since my regular grocery store doesn't carry it.

Barb--maybe I will check Walmart. We don't have the Walmart Supercenters here, though, just the old school Walmart, so the grocery options are very limited. Worth a shot, though. I know Heinz makes a low carb ketchup (I think that's the one you're thinking of). I've seen stickers for it on the shelf at one of my grocery stores, but no actual product. They all have the no salt version, but that does me no good

Day 11 of P1. I ended up having a few drinks on Monday. Just had to let it go and go back OP the next day. Seems all the social activity revolves around food or alcohol. Its hard !!! I spend a lot of time cooking to keep it easy to grab. So far its been 6 pounds, but hope theres more to come. I am getting used to beans, just keep eating them and they become part of my diet. Looking forward to next Monday so I can have some bread with my eggs.

Hi. Am I the only1naked?

I am starting South Beach for the 4th time in 4 years. I have never before lasted longer than a month. This time I am taking it much more seriously. In the last couple months of 2007 I quit smoking, quit caffeine, and quit my massive beer drinking. All this was in prep for my overall health kick. I am almost at the end of my first 2 weeks of SBD (Phase 1). I have also started power walking and light jogging again. I think I might need some support to make this work, so I am glad to be here.

Considering it's late January, probably.

Hi meggin

I don't have a Walmart supercenter either. For some reason there aren't any in Northern New Jersey. Do you have A&P's in Virginia? That's where I got my lowcarb ketchup and BBQ sauce.

I've just been all headachy and out of sorts all day. I can't wait for bed. I hope I'm more with it tomorrow, I have to run a Den meeting of 8 second-grade cubscouts.

Day 14 today, and I'm 7.9 lbs down. So maybe tomorrow I'll hit the 8lbs that Dr Agatston predicted by day 15!

The best part is, this has really not been hard for me. I'm eating much smaller portions than I used to, but not going hungry (how did that happen?) I'm not snacking in between meals, because I'm just not hungry. I think drinking all that water keeps me full.

But now I need to navigate the transfer to phase 2... scary stuff!

Default Phase 2 is great, but it is bad!

I have been on phase 2, and my scale has stopped moving....I have lost 9-10 pounds, but I gained a pound back! If I were on WW or a low calorie diet, I would be losing because I don't feel like I am eating hardly anything. If I eat anything sweet, it is a sugar free jello and sf cool whip!

Do you think I should return to Phase 1? I'm so scared I won't lose more weight by May!

I'm on day 4 of Phase II and my scale showed an 0.8# gain Monday after a 10# loss from Phase I, but it's back down 0.8# today so I'm basically back to my Phase I loss. I know it's just going to go slower now, so I'm content with that. I'm going to try exercising more. I'm close to my goal weight and I think in the book Dr. Agatston says some people quit losing when they're close to their ideal weight, unless they really exercise more and watch their intake carefully. I'm also happy that I can wear some of my old clothes, although some are a little snugger than I like.

Went out to dinner last night. Had a salad with oil and vinegar, Southwestern chicken (chicken breast rubbed with spices and grilled - served on a bed of black bean relish) and sauteed zucchini with freshly grated parmesan. Definitely South Beach friendly.

Hi. I'm new to SB and it looks like something I can follow. I've been on my own weight loss for awhile and got rid of 9 pounds then gained 4 back. I've gone off track and can't get back on. I need and want to lose weight. I've lost alot of determination and stopped exercising. I need to get on a plan that I can follow. I will start day 1 of phase 1 tomorrow. I am going to plan out all my meals for the next two weeks today and maybe go grocery shopping today. Thanks for everything everyone!

Helloooooo! I'm starting SB after falling off the wagon for far to long and gaining about 20lbs back of the 58 I had lost. I've been battling with the "I'll start tomorrow so binge today" attitude for a couple months and I'm ready to turn it around. Today is day 1 of phase 1 for me. I'm pretty sure I remember the specifics of SB but may have a few questions about food choices during phase 1. Am I allowed SB friendly veggie burgers with mozz cheese?
2. Pudding is a no go for phase 1 but sf jello is ok right?

oopsmyhalofelloff, you are correct that pudding is not allowed on Phase 1, but sf Jell-o is. As for a veggie burger, check the ingredients. A lot of veggie burgers have grains/carbs as fillers and binders. If this is the case, then they're not Phase 1 friendly, but if they use only whole grain products, then they would be Phase 2 friendly. Are you vegetarian? If not, I suggest trying a lean turkey burger--I LOVE them!

You can have vegi burgers, but definitely check the ingredients. The plain ones seem SB friendly some of the fancier flavored ones might not be. I think the Boca burgers are the best and are the lowest in calories. They're pretty much all soy. I like vegi burgers but hate turkey burgers for some reason. Of course we are allowed 93% lean ground beef also.

tkglenn You're still 5 pounds down and that's an achievement.

I just went to Trader Joes and got a few nice items. A chickpea salad, some WW English muffins for this weekend, mache lettuce and frozen raspberries. Got myself a cup of coffee so I can deal with those cub scouts tonight.
