I made the Chicken Dijon last night & everybody liked it. They had theirs with brown rice though. I tried Creamy Garlic Smashed Cauliflower recipe tonight with some roast beef and green beans. It was OK but not nearly enough like mashed potatoes like people rave about. I was disappointed in that recipe. I'm on Day 11 & my weight loss has stalled but I lost 7# in week 1 so I won't complain. My clothes are definitely fitting better. I would like to take canned vegetable soup to work with me but they all have potatoes, corn, carrots or some kind of food starch in them. Are there any brands that are Phase 1 friendly?

Hi everyone - I wasn't able to post for a few days -- Monday the 14th was my last day on Phase 1 -- I still can't believe I lost 12 lbs. in two weeks -- I kept getting on the scale to make sure I was seeing it correctly! This is such a jump start for me and I'm really excited about SBD. I started Phase 1.5 as I believe a previous poster referred to it. This week I'm adding a fruit each day -- I found some huge blackberries that I had on Tuesday and Wednesday and today I added an orange. I'm going to add very slowly and monitor how I feel, but I have to tell you -- eating that fruit was so wonderful. If there is one thing that SBD has done for me already, it is to make me appreciate the taste of real, good food! I want to thank everyone for the support through Phase 1 and wish you all the best with your plan and your weight loss. I'll be hanging around Phase 2 for awhile now until I hit my goal. I know the weight loss slows to 1 - 2 lbs a week for Phase 2, but that's okay for me. This doesn't feel too much like a diet and the loss I've had so far will hopefully carry me through. Have a great evening.

Hi everyone. Well, another successful day and day #3 is done and over with! I didn't have any cravings or troubles, the only 'trouble' I had is that it was hard for me to eat all my snacks. I mean, should I still eat them even if I'm not hungry?

B: 2 eggs scrambled with a bit of ff milk; 3 peices bacon
S: 30 pistachios
L: pork roast (I brought green beans but didn't eat any, oops); olives
S: fat free, sugar free pudding cup
D: turkey, ham, cheese, and mayo roll ups

Yeah, I know...no veggies. I'm a lot like another poster and am just not used to eating veggies. I do like them, but I usually find that I forget them.

Anyhow, have a great day tomorrow everyone! Tonight is Project Runway, my favorite show. Anyone else a fan?

Sorry girls for being MIA. So much going on at home, work, etc.

Yesterday I slipped. I had 2 crackers even if they were whole wheat. I also slipped at dinner and polished a piece of bread. Other than that, I've been LOADING up on veggies, salads and water. Here's today's menu:

B: eggs, sausage
L: salad with chicken breast
D: beans, veggies and slice of lean beef

I think it's on the phase 2 list. I ate one on about day 4, but then realized it's a p2 food. Darn. I love SF pudding.

Zoerba - I love watching Project Runway! I missed the first airing of tonight's show but will look for a later one to toss onto the TiVo.

Hey ladies...

I hope everyone had a wonderful day!

One more day down and on to day 9 tomorrow. This is actually going by pretty quickly and I think my body is feeling much better. I'm sure that has a little something to do with seeing the weight loss this morning!

I do not think I can have another salad for lunch tomorrow...does anyone have any easy, quick lunch suggestions that I can just throw together before work?

Zoerba: I absolutely LOVE Project Runway. I'm a huge, huge fan and never miss it. I am anxious for the clock to get around to 10 so I can see this week's episode!

Default I love Runway!

If you haven't watched it yet, I won't spoil it. I watched Project Runway tonight, and I think it was time for this person to go. It was really good, and I was proud for the winner. This designer has come close so many times...his attitude is hilarious!

I am doing my second week of Phase 1, and I am so nervous about adding stuff back. I went to a ribbon cutting today, and they had a cake from our local bakery - only my absolute favorite cake in the whole world. My friends pushed and pushed for me to eat a piece, and I refused! I had to eat out for lunch, and it was not a SB friendly place. I did the best I could without having to eat plain salad. I modified my eating for the rest of the day b/c I knew there were hidden sugars in my lunch.

breakfast: diet dr pepper - all I had time for!
lunch: chicken salad on a bed of iceberg lettuce/tall glass of water
dinner: 2 fried eggs
snack: jello cup with SF cool whip

I went to Group Power and exercised for an hour, and then I hit my errand list that started at 11:00 and didn't end until 5:00.

I am trying to get ready for my big scrapbooking weekend, and I am going to give myself permission to start Phase 2 on Friday night instead of Sunday. It's either that or hang the whole diet up for a few days, and I really don't want to do that.

Here are the snacks I plan to prepare for the weekend...(there are 3 of us, so don't be appalled!)
7 layered dip - version of taco bake. will try the pita chip thing
Crab cakes - found a good bread free recipe
SF/FF pudding with SF Cool whip
SF jello ups with SF Cool Whip (can you tell how much I love coolwhip?)
Maybe pinwheels using wheat tortillas
Maybe some glazed pecans (with splenda)

I hope I don't miss the peanut M&Ms!!

I am so excited for Project Runway! Now 38withfreckles has me curious! Only 15 minutes left.....tic tock....tic tock...

Here's a great lunch idea. I actually had it for dinner tonight instead of what I posted. I took 2 leaves of romaine lettuce and inside them layered ham and turkey lunchmeat, cheese, onion, tomato, and mayo. Then, I rolled it up like a burrito and secured with toothpicks. It was SOOO yummy, and filling!!!

I assumed the SF, FF puddings were legal on PH1 because in the book it says a sugar free dessert under 75 calories. The ones I have are only about 60 calories. I hope they are legal because they are keeping me from having chocolate cravings!

Default Rough day

Today was the hardest day I have had on SB. It was my friends daughter’s birthday. It was an all day event and we went to the movies. Somehow I ended up in the middle holding the HUGE bucket of popcorn . That wasn't so bad...I chewed gum. I had a salad at lunch with chicken....no dressing. I wasn't sure what was in it. At dinner I was really put to the test though. Not only was my favorite food in the WHOLE wide world right in front of my face , it was from my favorite pizzeria. I must say that was VERY hard, considering I didn't get this pizza very often as it’s about an hour away from me. I ordered a salad and it was pretty good....nothing special. Although today was rough, I FINALLY realized that I am stronger than food. I think it’s a huge revelation for me. I never felt I could resist temptation....but I did. I'm so happy. I stayed totally on plan!!!

Sick of salad...but on plan! It was really hard to think about the plan with food in my face…but I forced myself to think about the 7lbs gone and I liked that a lot better than the food.

I think on BL, Bob meant to chew the gum in-between snacks...so you keep your mouth busy chewing gum and not junk. I know what you mean, Christina, about the infomercials. It is really annoying!!

Hope everyone had a good day!

I only lost 1lb this week. I'm really disappointed with this - what with it being my first week on SB and all, but I had been on a diet before I started SB, so maybe I didn't have a lot of water to lose? At least it's a loss, and slow and easy does it!

Today's plan for me is:

B: Fat free natural yoghurt

S: 2tbsps peanut butter with celery

L: Houmous with celery and cucumber sticks and olives

S: Mini babybel cheese

D: Lean pork with spinach and courgette

S: Sugar free jello

Good morning, ladies! I'm sipping my V8 right now, so that will help me to get some veggies in (though not as much fiber as if they were solid veggies, but since I eat so few anyway, I figured this would be better than nothing!).

Bella B, don't get down about "only" losing 1 pound. Sometimes it takes that second week to really get things going. Also, regardless of the plan, unfortunately, the closer you are to your goal, the slower you typically lose since you don't have a lot left to lose (according to the numbers under your name--looks like you've got less than 20 pounds to lose). Think about it this way: 1 pound lost when you've got 20 pounds to lose is 1/20 of your total. 1 pound lost for someone like me who has over 150 pounds to lose is only 1/150 of my total, so 1 pound for you is much more drastic than 1 pound for someone heavier. I hope that makes sense

I didn't watch Project Runway last night. I'm a wuss and can't stay up past 10. I watch the reruns on the weekends, though. And I DID watch American Idol

Jillybean - thanks for your rationalisation of my loss - makes a huge amount of sense to me. And a loss is still a loss isn't it?

Last day of P1 for me today! Yay! Tomorrow I will weigh-in to see how I did overall. As of Tuesday I had lost 8 pounds so even if I don't lose much or any more I am pretty content with that. I think I am going to stop by the grocery store and see what fruit options I have for starting P2. There was this berry granita (desert) recipe in one of the SBD cookbooks I may make. I remember from last time it was really good! And I can officially eat pudding again! Zoerba - I don't remember what the deal is with pudding (I wonder if any of our resident experts can answer?) but I have heard people say on this board it is for P2 - and the lists in the FAQ section show that too.

So much great TV last night! I enjoyed watching the Texas AI auditions, although they weren't as entertaining as the Philadelphia ones. Also Project Runway was good too. I though the winner definitely was the right one for the project they did, and while I was sad to see the eliminated contestant go, it was probably their time. Can't wait to see next week! The preview had me really intrigued.

Morning ladies!

Loved Project last night. Winner totally deserved it. I really love him, snarky attitude and all. I didn't think the winner deserved to go yet, but I did think her partner did! He's deserved to go for a while in my opinion.

xGurlyGrlx: Popcorn at the movies is probably one of my biggest vices, and had it been sitting in my lap I have to think that I'd just throw my hands up and dig right in. And then to go to your favorite pizza place? Such willpower! You're inspiring!

Bella B A 1 pound loss is definitely still an achievement. You don't have much weight to lose at all, so Jill is right. Slow and steady is really the way to go -- ensures that you will keep it off.

Okay...time to get ready for work. I get some extra time at home this morning since I'm going straight from here to a video conference. Might try to squeeze in something different for breakfast...like the mock pancakes.

Have a wonderful day!
