Oh wow, that is so true TC! I think I have an issue to overcome with food really. The event was wonderful!! I was so busy with so many children that I only had time to get quick lunch. Luckily all the takeaway vans were vegetarian/healthy/ethnic type things, not fast food, because the type of festival it was. I had couscous, stuffed vine leaves and a little potato salad. Little harm done!
As for the cake later, I still do not know! I am eating lots of pasta with tomato sauce, followed by a whole lots of fruits salad and yoghurt. If I eat a lot (but healthy!) I might be full enough to control myself around the cake!! He he.
Best of luck for your exam too!! What is it in?

Chin up Lozz, you will be back on track soon. I always admire your motivation xxxx

How was everyone's day? I've gone to bed early for the night, I'm exhausted!! The appointment with my fitness instructor went really well, he gave me a fitness program to follow and he also tested me out on the treadmill and weights to test my fitness. I'd been doing the C25K week one training, so I'd only ever run straight for 60 seconds before.. he had me running for a straight five minutes, hahaha, but I did it kind of easily! Then I went for a swim, did 6 lengths or so, then went into the jacuzzi. So nice. I biked there and back, and with a flat tyre on the back wheel that was tough going up hill all the way!! When I got home we had to take our Italian students around town, so I was walking for a good three hours even then. I am SO tired out now, hahaha!

Joselo glad you had a great day, your lunch sounds lovely! Exams in teaching English as a foreign language. I normally live in Thailand, but came back to the UK to get my diploma and masters. Roll on Sept when it's all done!

marchmallow wow, what a day! No wonder you're exhausted! Well done on the personal training, sounds like you did fab

I know that feeling Lozz xxx
Oh, Marchmellow, what a busy day; well done!! I think you did yourself very very proud with your new exercise routine! How did you find the gym? Was it nice and welcoming? I think many new gym users have this worry!
Well done Miss SMcC... you keep on keeping on!

Oh wow, I did really great at the event last night... as well as having a wonderful time they only cake I ate was a little bit, less than half, that my friend cut off her cupcake for me to try. HOWEVER!! At the end of the night I went home with 3 pieces of fried chicken, 3 hot wings, large fries, gravy, large coke. Ooops
I think the worst thing I did this weekend was Friday's takeaway... I know I struggle not to get all kinds of takeaway after drinking so I should have saved my takeaway night for that night and not also got Chinese on Friday. Ah well

Go go go, Miss SMcC! Keep melting that fat, well done!

Jose, nooooo! Am I gonna have to jump on a train to Geordieland and nail up all the doors to those takeaway joints? XD All your hand work this week, too!

Here's a website that a lot of us use to track our food, My Fitness Pal. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ I want you to sign up (it's free) and just enter in those takeaway foods and see just how many calories were in that takeaway meal. Eating that much heavy caloric food, especially at night, is going to sabotage all of your weightloss efforts if you don't find a way to knock it on the head. You can live without fast food, trust me! I SO want you to succeed at this Jose, you just need to bolster that willpower and know what's at stake. You can do it, babe, seriously. <3

Default it feeeeeels like more!

Hi everybody,
Weighed today and had lost another 4 lbs this fortnight (only weigh myself every 2 weeks) both my daughter and my hubby were convinced I had lost more that that....that makes a total of 25lbs so far.
I know I should rejoice at the weight loss etc etc but to be frank I was a bit disappointed. I have been walking miles and eating really healthily. I have soooooo much weight to lose at times it feels like I ain't never gonna get there!!! I have Polycystic Ovaries amongst a few other medical issues ( some related to my weight and some not) does this make a difference??
Please advise!!!!!!!!!!

Mountain Walker, 2lbs a week is the maximum recommended weight loss per week. Studies have shown that people who lose weight at a pace like that are more likely to keep the weight off in the long run. Remember that you didn't get big overnight, and you won't get slim over night either. Try not to be hard on yourself; losing 25lbs in such a short amount of time is actually pretty jaw-dropping for me! I've taken almost two years to drop 31lbs!!

MW - please please please don't get upset. 4lbs in 2 weeks is great progress and its at a healthy rate too. You should be super proud of yourself. I've heard that polycystic ovaries syndrome can have an effect on weight loss, and a lot of ladies who suffer from it do sometimes struggle. So my advice would be, first congratulate yourself for losing those pounds, and secondly, look for the thread on the main support page which focus on pcos and other medical things. Finally, if in doubt, talk to your doc. They should at least be able to give you some advice or even just some extra encouragement

Right, today. I've decided that I'm going to eat what I want. Within reason of course. I'm not gonna go out and get me a KFC or anything like that, but if I fancy an extra Yorkshire pudding with my dinner I'm going to have it, or an extra slice of banana bread if the urge takes me. I just need a day off the counting and planning. So like i said, I'm not going to be silly, but a little less paranoid lol

Back to normal tomorrow though, and that's more or less planned lol like i said, I like to be in control

Here's to the next week of losing these silly pounds and to the 200s which I will hit in the next 2 weeks!! Grrrr

Hi all, happy Jubilee Sunday, hope the weather is better where you are?! Doesn't really matter to me though, spent the morning doing uni work, just been out spinning and now back to uni work. Going to stop at 7.30pm today though to watch the Gary Barlow documentary about the song he wrote and then stick a movie on. I'm by no means a royalist, but do find the royal family kinda fascinating!

Lozz enjoy your day off, we all need them sometimes! Only problem is, you've made me fancy banana bread now, and today is definitely NOT a day off for me, had my treats yesterday! Hope you get to your 200s goal soon, but remember, no matter how long it takes, you WILL get there in the end, and that's all that really counts.

MountainWalker well done on the loss! Don't be disheartened. It's great that your family are noticing the change in your body, remember, they don't see that number on the scale they see YOU, so how you look is far more important than a number, even though it's so easy to get fixated on it.... Some weeks you'll lose more, some weeks less, but you will get there

Joselo I think you've given yourself some good advice, now to pledge to stick to it! Takeaways become your treat foods, only to be eaten on occasion, and only on those days you're drinking and you know you'll crave them the most. If you can cut them down to then first, that's a HUGE step. Then you can work on portion control, but for now, frequency seems to be the most important thing. Good luck with it. Think about tomorrow, or next week, think about some realistic changes you can make, and then stick to them. Tell us here, and we'll support you through. But honesty has to be key.

MissS well done on the loss!

3lb off for me this week, so only a lb to go to get back to my ticker weight, and then it's onwards and upwards until goal and perhaps beyond, we'll see!

He he, you might have to MM! I know, I have a real takeaway habit. I won't be able to lose weight unless I crack this... just dared add it up on the site you suggest... each meal was about 2000!! Oh Laaawdy!! The funniest thing is, I thought I was doing OK because I used to get a whole bargain bucket to myself (I know, I know!), but I 'just' got a large meal... hmmm, I think I still have a way to go. Next week I am going to try my absolute best to only get one takeaway. Hold me to that!
Seriously MM, TC, and everyone... thank you so much for caring and beleiving in me and just being so lovely xxxx

Alright, Jose.. I'll be keeping tabs on you! One takeaway! And please try not to eat it at night. You will not burn it off otherwise. What's your username on My Fitness Pal?

I really do care, because you're such a sweet guy and if I can help you even just a little then I will. Stay strong this week, remember why you're doing this.
