Things are going good. My daughter and I went to the store last night. She wanted a snack. It was fun, we looked at labels and she was able to say, welllllllllll I can have 6 of those but I can have 12 of these for the same amount of fat. I think it will help her in the future to make better decisions on what she eats.

Countingdown and Gary: Thank you for the prayers. I talked to lil sister this morning and she has a pretty positive outlook on things. I'm blessed to have a great family that sees pretty much everything as God's way of making our lives better.

Gary: WTG on the walking with Angie! I'm trying to get DH to walk with me more, but it's sporadic at best. I bet Angie appreciates it as much as you do. Any news on Scott?

Countingdown: WTG avoiding those desserts. It's nice to have someone who knows what you're going through, isn't it? Keep up the great work!

Shy: What a great lesson for your daughter to learn! I hope to be able to set that kind of example when DH and I have children.

Cheesy: Isn't God awesome? He knows our needs and just takes care of them. I was doing my bible study last night and the lesson was on how God sent the manna to the Israelites in the desert and that they had to GATHER it. The author related it to our Christian lives and how God does provide the strength for us to get through any part of our day fresh every morning, but that some Christians struggle so much with everyday things because they don't "gather" His strength. If the Israelites hadn't gathered the manna, they would have starved to death while all they needed was right outside their tent. When you prayed in the car, you were "gathering" what only He can give. Thanks for giving me a real situation to correlate with my bible study. That's awesome!

ME: I'm doing okay today. I'm just a little tired as I didn't get a lot of sleep last night. I think being in an unfamiliar place and the fact that we stayed up too late gabbing had a lot to do with it. (I stayed with DH's boss' wife as DH and his boss are out of town). I'm just praying to get through the day in a good mood. I just hate being crabby with my employees when they haven't done anything wrong.

Well, I do need to get to work on something. Hope you all have a blessed day!

"Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." ~Joshua 24:15

HI TO EVERYONE ~ keep up the good work all; prayers will continue for SCOTTY, JIM, AND JEFF; these severe kind of injuries take time to heal. Just checkin' in; so take care all ~ your fellow encourager ROSEBUD ^ PRAYERS ^ going up continually!

Just checking in! I had a good day! Beautiful weather in northern Michigan, quality time spent by outside by the fire with DH - productive day at work, 100% OP today!!! God is good and SO faithful - I'm so glad I don't have to tackle this obstacle alone!!!!!!
Blessings to all - and I will continue to keep all of the above-mentioned people and situations in prayer.

Weigh in day! I finally have lost a pound. I thought it was never going to move but it did! As soon as I get back from my vacation I plan to start a regular exercise program. That should help speed up the loss.

Have a wonderful day!

Morning! I love to walk! Sometimes it's a challenge to get out the door but each time, I love it! Weights are much easier to avoid I have a date with Stacy, Clinton and my legs at noon.

Morning, everyone. I finally got the rest I needed last night and I feel great! I walked out to a crisp, cool morning and a gorgeous mountain sunrise. Jason gets home tonight and I can't wait to see him.

Things are going well on the loss-front. I haven't weighed myself since last Monday, but my jeans are all fitting a lot looser. The jeans I bought last week are already loose in the waist. (Although I wish they were loose in my hips!!) At least I bought these on sale!

Well, I hope everyone is having a great morning. Have a blessed day!

Kim- I was bummed when I got on the scale and "gained" .5 lbs. I average 1350 cals a day for the past week!! I know it's just a number... but your idea of the jeans gave me a great idea to try on some old jeans. THANKS.

worked a long dayTuesday and was not able to read all the posts. Gotta get to the gym. TYpe at ya later.

Oh girl don't let .5 get you down. I don't even count .5 for a loss so I sure wouldn't count it as a gain. 1350 calories, maybe you aren't eating enough. Oh the jean thing is great. My problem is the waist. I was so tickled when I put on a pair of jeans, only own one I hate jeans but the hubby likes me in them, and they fit around the waist instead of being to tight. As long as the clothes are fitting better I know I am on the right track.

Kim
Glad you got some rest. Having the proper amount of rest can turn what would be a bad day into at least a tolerable day lol.

Susan
Wish I was that into exercise. I am doing my walking video now. The 21 day challenge makes me stick with it. Don't want to have to post that I have not stuck with it lol. Hubby laughs and says thats good. I might not care what he or the kids think but I sure care what everyone here things lol.

Wilma
Way to go. Glad to see you are finaly going forward again.

Counting
Glad you had a good day. Yesterday was very nice here in northeastern ohio. Suppose to be a pretty day today too.

SHY- A walking video sound so boring...Is it really working for you? Buy some new sneaks and GO walking! I love to check out my nieghborhood. Can you do that where you live in Ohio?

EZ- Scotty is getting so much press! I pray that with the world watching.. a miracle happens- what a testimony that would be.
Also what was the "church" thread? I hate to miss anything-looks like I did. In our Bible Study we are studying ( from a book) how the church has "windows" and do we look into them or out of them... Does the church serve us like a country club or do we serve the church by implementing the great commision and "Go make disciples..."

Kim- I have a miracle affair/marriage story in our church with our former Deacon. SHY is right, there are 3 sides to every story. his/hers/& the truth! Pray that for the kids sake they can find the problem that caused the affair and work it out. Affairs are usually symptoms.

Counting- Thanks for saying my post helped you, cuz that nourished me!!

I love Y'all

Cheesy

Not real easy to walk here. I live out in the country. No side walks and the roads aren't really wide enough to walk safely. I love the walking video. You do slight exercises while you do the walking.

Cool Walking again . . .

Well, I have been by and been reading all the posts, - this thread is so busy now, I'm going to have to learn all new names, concerns, smiles, etc., however there are still a few of the 'oldies' here (sue, EZ, Wilma to name a few)

Did get back to my walking routine last Friday and so far I've logged over 7 miles in 5 days . . .not too bad, also watching what I'm eating so I'm down 3 pounds too!! Bye-bye gone for good!!

EZ - love the new avatar, - the girls are lookin' good but miss seeing you and your beautiful Angie - I'm sure she's read the last 'Potter' by now, - did she like it?? I didn't care a lot for the '19 years later stuff'. . .will lift up many prayers for DIL's dad & the football player believing in miracles and receiving if we just ask. . .

Wilma - Good to see your smiling face, don't remember a pic in the previous avatar and you're doing so well at 'keeping it off'!!

Sue - Way to go girl!!! Sounds like your surgery has been a complete success, - the pounds are just melting away! I envy you getting out there and going camping most every weekend - haven't been since I was a kid but really had some good times.

At work so no time to give shout-outs to everyone but will keep all the concerns lifted heavenwardly, - special 'hi' to ROSEBUD - you continue to be such an encourager, you always put a smile on my face when I read your posts doll, keep it up!

Hugs & prayers coming at ya' - Margie

Hi GALS ~

Angie is at BUNKO tonight so just knucklehead nephew and I hanging around with the mutts, one of which cost me $516.00 today She has had leg issues ever since she hurt it a few years ago jumping in the truck. evidently today, she was just "faking it"...nothing shows up on EX-RAYS. Probably just bruised something. I feel better than I did when she was limping around last night and this morning but...$$$$ and ....

Well today is weigh in WILMA, I am down more this week...I am at 178.6 this morning. It has been a great week on the scale for me, I think I am down about 5 pounds from last week, without looking it up. I am really working hard gals...results NOT TYPICAL I know. At least this week you have a loss! Enjoy the vacation then BACK AT IT on the weight loss journey.

MARGIE ~Great job walking again! thanks for the prayers for the family of Scott. Angie said she felt like she lost a friend with the harry potter book. She didn't say much to me about it other than that. I saw the HP actor on Rachael Ray yesterday he was so cool and funny. Great seeing you back.

RENNIE ~great job working with your daughter on the labels. Sorry you don't have a better place to walk. I am glad the tapes work for you, I may need to get some when I go working out of town again...for the hotel room...but then I would need a portable dvd player...man this diet stuff is expensive!

CHEESY ~Good luck to your son. I don't believe our schools have ever played each other in football, not since I was in high school, grad. '72. Yes Scott is getting a lot of air time, larry Himmel was wearing his jersey today for the weather cast. The church thread I was talking about is over in General Chatter, probably on page 2 since it was shut down and no more posts allowed. It was interesting some of the people's thoughts. When you get free time check it out, it was titled DO YOU GO TO CHURCH WHY ~ WHY NOT

LAUARIE Keep coming back!

KIM ~Your walk sounded beautiful. It has been chilly here in the mornings too, a nice fall feel...well as much as it can be here in southern California! Angie and I are hit and miss when it comes to walking together, for different reasons. We try to, but sometimes she is training to run, I stopped that a few years ago. When I am out of town we don't go together of course. In the summer she likes to go in the morning as I head to work, while it is cool. However, we try to go together as much as we can. Sometimes we take the dogs then she finishes or starts with her run. Just keep "gently" hinting to DH...women have their "secrets" to get us to do things!

SUSAN ~Glad to see you walking! With those vacation/shopping days behind you now. Did the remodel work get finished?

ROSEBUD ~Thanks for the compliments on my mutts, that picture is a couple of years old. I plan to switch it more often, the avatar. I hope the car repair is "easy" on you. Thanks for the PRAYERS, as always, I know I can count on you. Glad you had fun shopping with your aunt

KAREN ~I hear you didn't take the job. How is your sis doing at Mayo? Have you heard? Dad? House sell...hope!

Well the mutts and knucklehead nephew are beggin' for food! gotta feed 'em....later ~ GARY
