Thanks again to all for the warm welcomes. They are much appreciated. Good to see some more folk check in since I arrived.
I will continue to keep all of the situations mentioned in prayer.
What an uplifting and supportive thread! You all are wonderful.
Blessings to all and I pray that everyone will have the strength and courage to continue their successful ways
The weather is still great in Michigan - we have to count our blessings, since the snow will probably fly next month! I am really concerned about getting in my exercise once it is too cold and wet and slippery to walk outside. I'm looking at adding in some videos as well. Any suggestions are very welcome!!! Like Gary, I will be traveling some in the next couple months - I'm blessed that my laptop has a dvd player - I definitely need to take some workout videos with me
G'nite all- I hope you have a terrific day tomorrow. I look forward to the suprises and blessings that the new day will bring

I happen to like the walk videos called Walk Away The Pounds With Leslie Sansone. There are four in all starting with one mile and going to 4 miles. Since I really can't walk around here safely they are great to do in the house. Yes, this is a great place. Lots of encouragement. God does have a way of bringing his people together doesn't he.

Hello Everyone,
Things are still kind of hectic around here. But I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers.
Gary, my sister seems to be doing better right now. She has her up days and down days. I call her every couple days and she sounds much better. She has about 3 weeks more to go. She will be spending her birthday there and I know that is going to be a tough day for her. I talk to my Dad everyday and he is doing pretty good. Gets confused easily now and talks about my sister coming home in about 5 days. I know he really misses her since he has been with her constantly since his surgery last year. He does always say the first thing when he knows it is me on the phone--- "Did you sell anything?" Of course the answer is still NO but I keep hoping. I think we are going to list the house with a realtor if we haven't had anything happen by the end of the month. I just thought about things long and hard and decided that I just didn't want to take on anymore right now so that is why I decided to decline the job for now. I really want to be ready to go if my family needs me and be ready to pack and get moved once the house is sold. We still have the 5th wheel we are trying to sell too. But it may be getting a little late in the season for that except if hunters would want to get it. It does have the arctic package so they would be warm and toasty.
I'm still sending lots of prayers your way! I can imagien how Scotts parents felt when they read that letter! Gave me goosebumps!!
Hi Counting, I have to agree the Walk Away The Pounds videos are very good! And Welcome!! So much encouragement here.
I will try to get caught up here soon. Hello to everyone that I know I missed tonight but know that I'm thinking of you and send good thoughts your way.
Countingdown: I completely agree with Karen and Shy. Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds dvds are awesome. When I'm away for work and staying in a hotel room, I always take them. They're perfect if you're in tight spaces. I bought her "Faith Walk" dvd for my mom and she loves it. I do the 3 and 4 mile fast walks that incorporate interval training. They're a really great workout! She's got about 30 dvds out as well as some kits that come with workout implements. You can check out/buy the dvds here.
Gary: I just love my puppies, but goodness they get expensive. I once took my dog to the vet to the tune of $600 and it just turned out that he was constipated. I ended up having to by Metamucil and adding that to his food for a day and he was fine! Geez. I read the article on Scott. What a wonderful young man. I'm still sending up prayers for him!
Karen: I'm sending up prayers for your sister, your dad, and your house. I've been wanting a fifth-wheel FOREVER, but we have to buy a horse trailer first. Hopefully it will have a cabin in it.
Me: Things are going well here. DH is at home until Monday, so lots of time for us to hang out together. I'm going to suggest a walk Saturday and Sunday morning with him and the dogs. There are a lot of pit bulls in our area and it scares me to walk alone.
I'm down 1# on the scale this morning! Woohoo! I'm finally losing steadily and should be out of the "2-teens" in the next two weeks! Once I hit 209, I'm never going back to 210!
Well, I was late to work today, so I guess I should go post to the SB forum and get busy! Have a great day!
~Kim

I didn't realize that my walking comment would cause such a stir!! Hey, If it works do it! When I was reading the post, SHY sounded less than excited to do the video.
But after reading all the positive posts... I might have to give them a try.
If you noticed, I changed my signature to reflect my latest weigh in. I LOVED it and made it offical by changing my sig.
I was really proud and thankful this morning.
It was wierd when after breakfast, I felt anxious. I ate my whole wheat english muffin, 1 oz cheese and one egg egg beater equiv. = under 300 calories. I felt so full that it made me nervous. I took some deep breathes and prayed in the car before going into the gym. After working out and showering... I was starved and started to freak again. I just prayed again.
IT WORKED. In every area of my life, I have given it to God when things got tough- except dieting. Actually, "It's a journey of good choices"
You guys ROCK!
God Bless you all.
PS Keep my son in your prayers, he's playing football tonight. I can't think about Scotty without getting choked up. AND that letter...OM Goodness. I just rack my brain thinking about God's plan in this situation?!
Hello Everyone,
Just a quick pop in tonight. Congrats Cheesy on the weight loss!! That is great! Let us know what you think of the WATP's videos! I'll bet you will be surprised! I will send good thoughts for your son tonight. Football is such a rough sport.
Gary, I have a quick message for you from LindaD---"Yes, please tell Gary his CA sister says hello." She was asking about you and I said I would say Hello to you!
Well, this is kind of quick but I need to get some stuff done tonight. And I really want to see what this "Survivor China" is all about this season.
Thanks Shy, Kim and Karen. I will give WATP a try. I didn't realize she had so many different workouts. So much to choose from!
I did my first "real" yoga routine this morning - boy am I out of shape. And to think that I used to be able to do this stuff - about 25 years ago - LOL.
Kim - Congrats on the weight loss! Onederland isn't far away now!!!
Cheesy - Congrats on the new siggy - way to go!! It is amazing that we give so much to God easily, but some of our day to day struggles - like eating - we just forget to use the most powerful resource we have? I can be so obtuse sometimes!!
I hope the game went well - I have been sending up prayers for all football players tonight.
Karen - I will keep you in prayer. It sounds like you made a good decision with the job.
My big challenge will be tomorrow's dinner. The school superintendent has invited us over for dinner (my boss). My first important social engagement since starting this weight loss journey - I'm hoping I can stay on plan gracefully.
Blessings to all. I'm off to find some WATP videos
I'm also on the WATP bandwagon! I love them. I have a few of them - the newest for me being her Power Series and the Walk at Home Walk Firm one. The last one mentioned is a strength DVD using the elastic band. I quite enjoy it. I've been using her DVD's for quite some time and have given them away as gifts too.
Cheesy: Congrats on the weight loss! You and I are around the same weight. What is your final goal? Mine is 140 but would like to go a bit lower than that.
I'm almost packed for my trip. Just a few last minute things to take care of and also one more day of work to get through. It's going to be a LOOONGG day!!
I feel like I have been gone forever and it really has only been 3 days... Wow this place was busy. I am doing fine was camping for 2 days then had to work today and off the weekend so camping till Sunday yeah!!!
Kim- Prayers for the youth pastor and his family that the situation can be made right, and for your sister.
Susan B.- Thanks for popping back in and letting us know how your doing, come back and visit often.
Cheesy- Great ob staying op and with that willl power!!
E.Z.- I'll have to check out the ship deck, so I can get my walking in, I actually miss it when I can't go because of work or whatever. Prayers continue for Jeff and Scott!
Wilma- Great job, enjoy vacation!!
Margie- congrats down 3 lbs, way to go. I think it was a success I feel so much better, I still have a ways to go, but is definitely a great tool, for me! I luv camping and spending time with family as tey are always camping with me.. So it is always lots of fuin.
Karen- prayers that your sister continues to do well, and that the camper sells soon.
Hi to all those I missed try to catch up on Monday... but I didn't get home till after 1am from work, so I tried its 2:14 time for bed... prayers!!
To be perfectly honest, I don't do videos because I don't know how to run the player. But sure, I would! Any old thing that keeps activity refreshing and new.
Last evening we ran to the shop to pick up our new windows. Yes this house needs some work and no ... I don't think it will ever be done Praise the Lord for grown children. I could not have lifted those but DS#2 did quite nicely and lifted me down from the truck.
Does anyone fast for weight loss? There are so many conflicting reports about that. I read that Joel Furhman uses it and I think his books are in the CBD catalog. I've lost a little lately from not eating as much. I like to go by hunger and fullnes but I just recently noticed that sugar and white flour seem to increase my appetite.
Just a quick update on my little sister. She decided to call HR to complain about being demoted, since there were no write-ups or indications that she might be demoted. HR called her back on Wednesday and told her she could continue to work for the company and be demoted further, or take a severance package. Well, she took the package and is out looking for a job again.
