Lisa, what is 'setting captives free'? I assume it is a diet program. How are you doing this weekend?

Hi -- I'm new to this thread. . . I saw it was christian encouragers and thought I'd have a look around -- and the funny thing -- the lastest post is about what I'm currently doing -- providence or what?

About setting captives free -- great site, offers all kinds of teaching. . . . .The Lord's Table is a FREE course for people like me -- food addicts!!! Course 1 is a 60 day program of fast days, half days and liquid days -- not really a program, but a way to teach you to eat in a displined manner that brings glory to God. . . . check out the thread. . I think it's titled Setting captives free - lord's table -- it's under "faith based" too. That's were I had been posting -- but the few who also post are not always able to. . . and I miss the communication -- so I'll try here!

GOOD MORNING LADIES ~

Asking for prayers today for my daughter in law's father. Details are a little sketchy, but he appears to have gone into a diabetic coma. From what we know at the moment, he lives in Florida, he was moving ( not sure if it was for him or helping someone ) anyway, I guess he was dehydrated, passed out and his heart stop for a period of time. As of last night he was in the coma and kids weren't sure of brain damage, etc. My daughter in law said he didn't know he was diabetic.

The kids are flying out this morning from San Diego to see him. I will fill you in when I know anything.

On a lighter note MICKEYROB

FLOWERWARRIOR ~

HEART4HIM ~The threads you mentioned are here in Faith Based

Off to work ~ Here at home today ~~ finishing the shuffleboard court ~ FINALLY

Have a great day Ladies ~ GARY

Wilma, I'm here.Gee, It's been a busy few days! I know we haven't weighed yet - Wednesday morning is The Day!! Last week I only got to exercise on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Thursday, Friday and the weekend just flew by and I didn't get in any formal exercise. Today, Monday, I did get to the gym for a 40 minute work out (20 on the ellipical (?sp.) and 20 on the bike. I hope you are doing just fantastic!! and that your energized and enthusiastic! Ha, ha - I know I am, even in this heat wave!! Of course Alabama is always the hottest in August each year - NO global warming around here - this is just the way it is EVERY year. Anyway, stay on that food plan. I am going to start writing down what goes into my mouth. That does really help me. Can't wait till Wed. I hope you are a real loser, girl!! Hey, and anybody else too!
Gary, Wow,you go! You are gettin' in a lot of miles! You have your beers to contend with and I have my Frappe's !
Well, gang I'm waiting for my baby girl to deliver to us our beautiful grandson. She is due on the 25th. of this month. I'm ready and I think she is too!!
She and her sweet husband are so excited. You know, babies are just the best thing ever! One reason I have been gone is that my daughter had to have her appendix out. Because she is so big with Little Bit, they had to do it the old fashioned way. So I got to stay with her for a couple of weeks. (THe second week, our son-in-law had to be away at youth camp, as he is a Middle school minister.) We girls had a blast!
Then my mom had to have some heart surgery. She is fine now. Just like new, so she says.
Oh, I wanted to mention that we are not hearing from Gwyn right now because she had to return the borrowed computer. We all miss her and the encouragement that she shared so colorfully and enthusiastically. I hope she will be able to rejoin us before long.
Spend some time with the Lord today and you will be blessed!

HELLO EVERYONE ~ we are having nicer weather here now with better temps; it's a welcomed relief.

TO ALL OUR NEWEST NEWBIES ~ let us know a bit about yourselves; and do come back and post now and then to keep in touch with everyone ...

ELIZBENNET ~ GWYN can go to her local library and post for free like she did before; maybe she's busy or on holidays. Many large cities have transit available for the public; and special transit vehicles for disabled persons like GWYN. All you have to do is go to your local city/town hall to get all the details. We also have taxi companies with special low-fare tickets available from our town hall here too. Today, there are so many groups and churches that will help the disabled, seniors, and low-income persons; and will provide rides for free ~ just for the asking. Isn't that what GOD has called us to do; to help those who really need it?

WILMA ~ your summer olympics choices are very good; I would have to choose walking, weights, and swimming. Picked peas yesterday for dinner; my beans are slower here; baby beans starting now. Our farmer's markets are open now; think we'll go some Saturday morning to look for some fresh veggie bargoons.

GARY ~ the whole basic structure of the cottage is done now; my DAD went home last Monday; and man, was he exhausted. I hope he'll take the next week or two, to rest & relax. Sorry to hear about your D-I-L's father; ^ PRAYERS ^ HAVE ALREADY BEEN SENT UP FOR HIM!!!

^ PRAYERS ^ for SUE & JIM too!

WELL, TAKE GOOD CARE EVERYONE ~ your fellow encourager ROSEBUD ^ PRAYERS ^ for all!

HI GALS ~

SUE'S BACK! and OK! Which makes us all very happy

Just hanging around the house today, took another day off for a long week-end. Finishing up the shuffleboard court. Going back to work tomorrow, so I have spent the morning re-stocking my truck. I also took the dogs on a 3 1/2 mile walk. Angie usually does it but she had a conference this morning, so I thought I would since it was a nice morning. The girls sure look forward to their walk too I was getting a little burned out on the treadmill so this was a good way to still get my miles in for the day.

Our new recliner comes today ...humm...new recliner and new treadmill...which one does Gary want to use?

So happy to see that you are OK [B]SUE] Glad you are having a fun summer. Keep that weight loss coming.

[B]ROSEBUD ~ thank you for the prayers for Nicole's dad. The kids are there but as of now, I don't know any more details. Happy to hear your weather is a little better.

[B]ELIZBENNET ~ Glad to hear your grandson is coming soon! Neat-o! Wish I had some GRANDkids...but don't want to push the kids...yes I do!...but I won't

[B]WILMA ~ How's that walking going?

Are you new kids out there?

Catch up later ~ Gary

Wilma -yoo hoo! Tomorrow, WED. is coming fast! Are you a big time loser this week. I hope so - and for me too!
Today some girlfriends and I went to the movie to see No Reservations. I thought it was really good. Then tonight my husband decided to take me to see HairSpray! Oh, that one is good too. I am old enough to remember all the truths that movie brought out. I thought it was well done.
Ha, ha - two movies in one day? I know that's crazy! Maybe it is just to hot to do much of anything else. Over 100 degrees tomorrow, again!
Eat in moderation, and praise the Lord for all the wonderful choices we have to enjoy!!

Can you believe it? I forgot to weigh in this morning. It feels like tuesday because I had Monday off. I'll weigh in tomorrow a.m. and report in. I did a fair amount of walking this weekend. We went to the zoo and also walked around our neighbourhood. My eating has improved also so hopefully I'll be able to report a loss of some sort tomorrow.

Last night my brother and his family came for dinner so I didn't get any exercise in. Tonight!

We saw No Reservations this weekend also. I really liked it. Even DH didn't mind it!

Sue: It's so good to see you back You are sounding great!

Gary: What an awful thing to have happen. I'll be praying for DIL's father.

Maybe your new recliner could be an event in your triathalon.

Rosebud: Sounds like your summer is busy too.

Gotta go to work. It's crazy there these days and I would appreciate prayer for calmness on my part. Thanks!

Oh Wilma, I can't believe it! On the other hand it's great that wt./scales aren't always on your mind. Tomorrow will be fine. You have been doing such a great job, I know these last unwanted pounds will lose out! Looking forward to hearing from you then.
Well, as for me, I stayed exactly the same. I have not been able to get off this mark in quiet awhile. I will just know it's gonna drop and everything is still there, just hanging around - on ME! I will have to take on more exercise I guess. I know after the official "exercise, workout" well, then I go back to being still, not a lot of burning of any more cal. -But life has s-l-o-w-e-d down for me! What's a body to do?
Ok gang, we're about to start a NEW week. Let's go for it with all we've got!

Hello everyone....doing ok. Started my healthy eatting program and have had a few bumps in the road, but staying steady. It's hard to eat less, and choose healthy when you love the 'junk'. I have been looking at it in a new way that I hadn't before. Ever thot about food additions as being 'idols'? Makes me feel even more determined to get rid of them, but I can't without our Father's help....just too weak. P.S. Hey Rosebud, I just wanted you to know that I have been praying for you by name this week....you are an inspiration to me!!

I can't believe it. I stepped on the scale this a.m. and it showed me down 2 lbs. It sure gives one incentive to keep it up and do even better.

Have a great day!
