Yesterday was weigh in and I forgot. So, I weighed in the a.m. and have already lost a bit of the weight I gained on my trip. It feels good to be back to eating healthy again. I've been packing salads for lunch even though I really want something gooey. Hopefully I'll be back at my pre vacation weight in the next couple of weeks.

Our family room is painted and cleaned up and it looks really good. We have our exercise equipment set up now and will start using it.

We have part of my family coming over on Saturday for a turkey dinner. We didn't celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving last weekend because of work schedules, etc. so we're meeting this weekend. I've been busy shopping and still have so much to do. I'm really looking forward to it though.

Have a great day!

Good morning! I wonder if I might call on you all for a bit of prayer support. I'm on a mission the next couple of days.
A local fellow, self employed, was injured in an accident. He is paralysed from the waist down, well even his arms aren't good. Although he is fortunate that his physical/medical needs are met by our healthcare here ... there are huge burdens with his after care. They either have to move or renovate and he'll need care and equipment at home.

One of the things the small communities do around here is hold 'benefits'. There will be a dance and auctions ... My coworkers and I are collecting money and it's my job to purchase a gift basket for the silent auction.

I pray that all we do honours God and profits the Wood family greatly. Would you keep this family in your prayers? and thank Him for this wonderful community support?

Default hI THERE!

Wilma- congrats on the weight loss, nice to have your equipment set up as well enjoy Thanksgiving and visiting w/ family always fun...
SusanB.- Prayers for the woods family and that the benefits go well and raise enough to assist care, also that your blessed for all your efforts...
I am doing well back to surgeon yesterday for 3 month f/u down a little on vit D so have to increase supplement to 3x a day but that was only issue. He told me to start an arobic program to ensure no muscle loss as after having this surgery it is harder to absorb proteins. He was not impressed w/ my walking at all. He suggested a stair climber so being the dutiful patient I purchased an elliptical machine yesterday from walmart just have to wait deliver in 10 days or so. But had an awesome check up... prayers for you all, gotta get ready to go to work have a consumer home sick so working a double today...

I just lost my post! I'll try to remember what I wrote.

Gary: Wow! You are melting away. What is your goal weight? Feels good doesn't it? When we were shopping in Buffalo it felt so good to be trying on size 12 clothes instead of size 18 like I used to. Such a confidence builder.

Sue: You're doing awesome also. I can hardly wait for pics of the new you. I plan to start using my equipment after I get this dinner finished. Right now I'm concentrating on getting my house clean and dinner ingredients bought.

Shy Moment: Thanks!

SusanB: My prayers are going up for the Woods family. It does sound like they have great support. Not everyone gets that.

Have a great day!

HI GALS

I hope this finds everyone well as the week comes to an end. As you know, it hasn't been a great week for me but I am doing pretty good considering. I have a lot of support with family and friends and 3FC. You gals have been AWESOME!

I made a pot of Grandma Judi's chili in my mom's honor. We were always together when she made chili for the family, it seems like. Back when we were kids, when family came (back when people made big batches of food when company came and not KFC!) She made it when we got together for games at her place with the guys....nothing special...we just all loved it!

Little things remind me of her, as it should be....was watching the CBS morning show while on the treadmill this morning, when it went to the national weather and gave the forcast for the Illinois area, I thought of her, as I always did when I saw it....we always talked about the weather when I called her on the week-end So predictable! I will miss those phone calls. Doing better each day.

I was supposed to be there, in Illinois to see her, this week-end with my kids. We had planned to fly out and had tickets for Thursday to Sunday for them...Thursday until next week for me. OH well...so much for planning!

I am still doing well with my "better choices" and exercise. I was off today, Angie took the dogs on a run this, morning before her work, so I jumped on the treadmill, turned on the TV and the next thing I knew I had gone 90 minutes and 6 miles! I was at 173.6 this morning, twice this week I have hit that. I am still trying to lose, I could go another 5 pounds easy in the "belly" department Mostly though I am trying to maintain what I have lost and not gain, if I lose too, all the better. Any "turkey cushion" I could get for Thanksgiving would be fine with me! Angie and I do a 5K Thanksgiving morning so I am guaranteed to get my walk in that day. My ex-wife's sister will join us for sure again this year, sometimes the kids do too, I haven't talked with them yet on their plans.

Prayer up-dates:

My daughter in law talked to her father, Jeff, this week on the phone, this is a first since he went into the coma. He said he remembered her being there 2 weeks ago, she isn't sure if he really did. She told him he was getting better and he said "Yes, but it's hard." She seems to think he is "thinking" and not answering out of "memory".....either way, seems much better than before! I am so happy for her. She told me at my nephew's birthday party "Dad, it sure has been a tough few months for "our" family hasn't it."

Scotty has shown "a little" progress. I guess his eyes open from time to time which is a good thing....but...not much more just yet. Still, all in all, it appears to be progress.

RENNIE ~I am sorry your father wasn't good to you but I am glad he was to your son. I thank you for all your prayers and for your psoting here, it has really helped us to continue our growth and support here for each other!

LORI ~I thank you for your prayers. I am sorry to hear the boy is having trouble again, how frustrating it must be for you. I am also sorry to hear your father is not saved...yet!....we will keep praying! Your pastor is right, sometimes we need to just back off and let God be God. We can't "make" someone believe no matter how hard we try. I understand the frustration and ANGER we get when we can't get The Message through! You must remember though that it is and always will be a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Jesus Christ that we have.It is a gift wehave...and all can have...some just don't want it. You must not carry their burden dear...you just can't! That is what Christ did for us so we wouldn't have to! Continued prayers!

WILMA ~I hope your "confidence builder" doesn't cost DH too much Great news with the new "gym"...no excuses now! Enjoy "your" Thanksgiving.

AUNT SUE ~I hope your elliptical works out for you, they can be hard on the knees so be careful, ok? Glad that the news is good on the recovery. We are so thankful for that! Thank-you for all your prayers.

SUSAN ~Prayers for the Wood's family. How

CAROL ~I am sorry on the loss of your mother. I am happy you were to spend some time with her at her earth life's end. You are right, you just never know. Enjoy the time fixing up the house with your daughter.

ROSEBUD ~Thank you for the help on my daughter's blog. I know she appreciates it. Your mother sounds like she was a wonderful woman...I know she rasied a wonderful daughter. I loved your TRUE THANKSGIVING. Than you for all your prayers and thoughts for myself and family.

MARGIE ~Thank-you. I hope you and your kiddo are well. Tennis anyone?

MELODY ~

Well I will try to do better with my posting!

Have a great week-end ladies. It is our pastor's 40th ANNIVERSARY in the ministry, 38 at our church. We are having a big day and luncheon for him on Sunday, should be fun. I am glad I can go.

I understand the loss. I am sure she is happy you remember her with a smile and a laugh. Isn't that how all of us want our love ones to remember us? Making Chile, talking about the weather.

My father came back to God in his later years, I am thankful for that. Things happen to us in life and we just move on. Everything we go thru makes us who we are. My son still misses him a great deal.

Glad you are doing well with your better choices. Wonder if I could get away with doing a run instead of basting a turkey every half hour on Thanksgiving morning lol.

HELLO EVERYONE ~ Well, we have had our first ****** last night; we have about four inches and it's still falling. I think it looks beautiful, all that white sparkly, clean snow. DH was out there throwing around for the kiddies next door; they loved that as they were stuck indoors with a bad flu today. Lots of fine feathered friends coming around looking for food; even our red/grey grosbeaks have come back early.

BUT, we had a real surprise visitor tonight ~ one of our neighbours' chickens came to our door looking for something to eat. DH thought it was an injured pheasant, but when I looked closer I saw a small red cone on its head and said, "Nope, that's just a young poule ~ LOL!" So, DH put it inside his coat and took it back to the owners; they had a good chuckle over that one; guess he flew over the fence and got lost ...

MELODY ~ Don't be shy; come in and post often!

GARY ~ What lovely, kind words; thanks so much! WOW: talk about answered prayer; I have been beseeching GOD on JEFF's behalf daily, so I am so glad to hear he was talking to his daughter on the phone already; that's amazing! And, I asked JESUS to wrap SCOTTY in his lovin' arms; am so glad to hear he's opening his eyes; that may be a sign that there's hope there, I think. Thanx for the update; I am so encouraged by it ...

SUE ~ congrats on the elliptical; that will burn some mean energy; prayers for JIM still going strong; how is he doing now? Maybe his wife and DD could get a nice double room at a private bed & breakfast in Boston; these are so homey and comfortable; and possibly a better price than a whole apartment, unless that's what they want to do, of course; just an idea ...

WILMA ~ your own gym room; sounds fab; Happy belated Thanksgiving!

SUEB ~ ^ Prayers already ^ for the Mr. Woods and his family; we are very blessed in this country; it's just the homecare that is a big challenge here. May GOD bless your fund-raising efforts as well ...

SHY ~ sometimes we get another chance to do better with the next generation; it is nice that he came to GOD eventually; that's what I meant about the future holding surprises for us concerning our loved ones.

HI MARGIEB ~ nice to see you back here.
LORI ~ prayers for AJ; hope things are getting better.
HELLO TO CAROL ~ I'm sure your daughter really appreciates your help; she is super-busy: mom, nurse, home decorator ...

WELL, not to much going on here; but, I wanted to share with you all that my leg is really healing up nicely now. Just three more days on the meds; and it's looking very good. Everything else is going good for us too.

HOPE you all have a wonderful weekend; hope that I didn't miss anyone in my personals. Take good care of yourselves; your fellow encourager ROSEBUD

Gary, Thanks for asking. My sister seems to be doing really good. She went to a hospital and took a typing test for a job there. She said they told her that her typing surpassed the requirements for any job they have there.

My Dad is doing really well and seems to be pretty happy staying with my brother. They have got in to a habit of going to a casino on the weekends and Dad plays the penny slot machines!! I guess last weekend he won $2.61 He really gets a kick out of it!

Hello to everyone else that I have missed this morning. Our granddaughter, Jade, is having a birthday bar-b-que this afternoon. She will be 12 tomorrow but they are talking cold and snow for tomorrow! So since we listed the house on Thursday I need to make sure everything is neat and clean before we leave to go there. The realtor was fairly optimistic that the house would sell before Christmas. I'm ready but still dread moving across Kansas in the Winter.

Prayers to all and I hope everyone has a good Saturday.
