Congrats Janett!
I knew it would break. I went though a similar struggle last month, weeks of no weight loss and had begun to think that would be it, I would never get past 22 lbs or whatever... Thankfully, my plateau finally broke as well. I noticed that the weight loss was still slow (1.5 lbs/week). I had been off Enhancer for 6 weeks. I decided to restart it and am now up to 3 lbs lost this week since last Sat. so I think it might actually help surprisingly enough. It does nothing for my appetite though. Anyways, so happy for you!
Thanks for all the support, guys! YES those plateaus really suck! It sure is nice to have a good drop when it is over. My counselor keeps telling me that they are good things, and that when you are having one, you are actually losing fat.. Well, I guess I will believe her, but i won't be hoping for another one and hope i don't have one for a long time! I am going on the Green menu next week! I am really happy about it because as a previous gastric bypass pt, my stomach has shrunk so much that it is really hard to get down 6 oz of meat sometimes. YAY on the 4 oz. I take the Enhancer, and MRC, flax, B-12, and occasionally, the Internal Cleanser. I don't want to mess with a good thing, so i take whatever they tell me to(expensive, though).. What else is different in the green menu compared to the beige?/ Congrats to everyone on their losses!!
Janett, I am so happy for you. I love to read your posts.
Last night I was so hungry I couldn't stand it. Normally I would have eaten some belly filling food. This time I had a fiber drink and just bided my time until the next meal. I'm getting some real willpower I'm happy to say.
Hey..Does anyone know if turkey bacon is ok?? Is it considered turkey??
Unfortunately, I think turkey bacon is a no-no, I've checked it out myself at the market and it's pretty high in sodium and fat content per serving... I too would be curious to know what a counselor says about this though. Let us know what you hear.
Hey everyone,
I've been away for a while - started my new job this week - so far so good! Stress is considerably less than previous job so home life is better as a result. Went to WI today and have lost 3.5 lbs this week for a total of 31.5 lbs gone! I still am curious how this all works as it is sometimes so counterintuitive but I think I am crediting the Enhancer at this point. Prior to this I was lucky to lose 1.5 lbs a week for the last 5 weeks and was perfectly on plan w/the exception of a small handful of nuts 1 day, seriously. I was still surprised by the "big" (by my standards) drop this week b/c I ate out twice this week - Ruth Chris steak house Thurs (for business) and Fri with family at Carabba's. I tried to be good while there, took the carb/fat blocker, limited bread to only a couple of very tiny bites (no more than 1/4 of a piece), had salad with dressing on the side so only a small sprinkle hit the veggies, steamed veggies and no butter on anything, especially the steak. Ruth Chris is famous for serving their main entree with sizzling melted better poured over the top of it. It was delicious though! I still enjoyed watching everyone else's steak sizzling in the butter and didn't feel a bit deprived or guilty. If there is anything I've learned from this experience over the last few months is depriving/limiting/restricting yourself to the point where you feel that way is really not that helpful. It can be so discouraging when you've tried so hard and are losing nothing. It really makes you doubt yourself and the plan. I think it's better to stick to the main principles and if you want a bite of something good once a week then have it - just maintain your self control while doing it and let that be it, don't keep going ... I'd rather do that than feel like I am suffering on this plan yet still hitting plateaus and not seeing any benefit to the suffering. I guess when I was losing steadily I didn't mind feeling a little deprived here and there, it was worth it but once the weight loss stops, boy is it hard to see through to the other side and understand the process. Janett, I feel ya here. Anyways, I am going through clothes like crazy now! I've had to purchase a few new pairs of pants and tops but trying to be conservative - I can't afford to buy a whole new wardrobe every 25 lbs down! I also find it amazing what 30 lbs will do for your confidence. I am still doing the C25K program, on week 3. There is free gym membership to MRC people at the hospital I'm working at so I plan to join real soon and add that to my routine. Time for some toning to work on these "flappy" arms. Have a great weekend everyone!
In the past 8 weeks I've officially lost 16 pounds but on my home scale it's 20. I haven't been to WI for awhile because of finals but I'm going today so we'll see what they say. It's been about 2 1/2 pounds a week average which I thought was low compared to what they said I'd lose. Well I'm now getting help with that since yesterday I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Now weirdly enough I don't really have symptoms - it showed on a routine blood test but it may be why I haven't been losing the 3-5 a week. It should help from now on since I'm being treated.
So my crappy/negative butt has a good news update! I went in for WI this morning...DOWN 2 lbs!!! But even better, I've been complaining and complaining how I think their body comp scale wasn't measuring my body fat correctly. I've been saying this for the past month. Everytime, they just responded with "this scale is 99.9% accurate and it's measuring it right". So that really made me sour because they said I couldn't start stabilization until I got down to 26% or lower.
Anyway, so today at my WI, it measured my body fat percentage at 33%. Well, I STARTED at 34% when I was 172 lbs. I'm down 19 lbs and for my body fat % to be measuring only 1% less is not right. So I pointed that out to the MRC lady and she said "oh wait...you're right! There is no way you are 33% body fat. This scale is not measuring your body fat percentage right..." and so on. She has no idea why it's not measuring me right but it's not. Though now that I think about it, I think it may have to do with the fact that I have flat feet/fallen arches. The way you stand on those scales really does make a difference. And since I have flat feet/fallen arches more of my foot actually touches the sensor. But who knows...
And with all that, she said I may only need to lose 5 more lbs rather than the 10 more lbs that the machine is saying. Unfortunately, unless I go get a water test or an x-ray test, I won't know what my actual body fat percentage is. I need to do some research but I may just go do that.
Anyway, I just wanted to share because today's WI really made me feel so much better. To know that the MRC ladies FINALLY understand what I've been saying for the last month and agree with me. So they are going to let me start stabilization when they have their first class in June (the center just opened a few months ago so they don't even have regular stabilization classes yet). Now on to losing a few more lbs this week.
Janett, I am so happy for you. I love to read your posts.

That is great, Edie! I eat a creamie at night. when I know I have a pudding or the brownie bites waiting for me at the end of the day??? THAT is a good diet!!
Unfortunately, I think turkey bacon is a no-no, I've checked it out myself at the market and it's pretty high in sodium and fat content per serving... I too would be curious to know what a counselor says about this though. Let us know what you hear.
Thanks, Karen, that makes sense, about the sodium. i bought this parmesan crusted flounder at Wallyworld the other day, and I got it out to thaw and saw that it had 470 mg sodium, 40% daily allowance. i was like...NOOOOO!!
THAT was a big waste of money! I am really drinking the water better and i know that is helping, it's just that i have to pee like every 5 minutes, that gets kinda annoying.. LOL
WI this morning and I still haven't lost anything Got some fiber to see if that will help things move along (sorry if TMI). Week was bad. So frustrated! I know I have to think small goals but I just start thinking about how much I have to actually lose and it seems overwhelming. Did manage to go to the gym mon, wed and Friday. Also got the key for the club house gym here at my complex so I can head over there tonight when the baby goes to bed (so don't have to worry about her dad stressing out if she is awake or gets upset lol) saves me 40 mins of driving time round trip. Anyways... best go figure out what to make for dinner tonight. Take care and skinny dust for all.
Hello everyone! I had a great day! I went for my first weigh in OP today. Since last Friday (one week ago not yesterday ) I have lost 7 pounds!!! And on pre conditioning I lost 3.5 which means 10.5 in 2 weeks! WOW! I LOVE this program! Also, some of you know that I have been having some evening hunger issues. I figured the gal would offer me more supplements (more $$$$ too!) but she actually recommended trying the fiber fills and going to a different supplement if those don't help which was nice. She also told me to max out my HNS 's which would help me to maximize my weight loss. To those of you who are more familiar with this program...is that true or does she just want me to use more so I will have to buy more??? Just wondering...ANYWAY-I haven't lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks EVER...I love it!!!
Jase1234, I have been on this plan for almost 4 months now and they have told me the same thing..."max out on HNS and it will make a difference". Now everyone's body is different...and I thought it was just to get more money out of me at first, but it really does help! I saw 3 lb losses in 2 weeks straight. Then I got busy and stopped doing the max and I only lost 0.5 lb. So I am back to doing the max.
Jase congrats on the weight loss. I know you must feel incredible. As for maxing the supplements, I honestly do not know. I have been told the same thing, but then I lose track of my time during the days trying to work, manage the kids, etc etc. Let me know if it works for you.
Congrats to every one else who has weighed in this week and had a loss, I am very happy for every one. Have a great evening!
