My BMI is at 25.9 which is about 1 point higher than it should be and my consultant mentioned yesterday at my maintenance appt. that I will probably get into that range if I stick to the 1200 cal. maintenance diet they gave me yesterday. I'm only 5'5" and we both weigh 155 so I can't even imagine how thin you look at 6 ft. tall! Something just doesn't sound right. I would definitely talk to the manager about it.
When I walked in to the center I was thinking I'd want to lose 15-20 lbs. The least I ever thought I could weigh was 150. I'm at 153 (on my scale at home before eating/no clothes) and 155 on their scale (clothes+food/water in my belly). But then they did the body comp scale thing during the consult and the little print out said my goal weight should be 143.5 with a body fat percentage of 26%. I didn't really question it because I thought "oh well I guess they are the professionals...what do I know". So their goal for me was 28.5 lbs loss. I guess if I were losing more rapidly, I'd want to stick with it until I got to their goal for me. Yes I'm down 17 lbs since April 3 but I lost 15 of those lbs in the first 3 weeks. I've weighed in at 155 for the last 3 weeks and nothing is budging...measurements, body fat, nothin! I'm following the plan 100% and I don't think my body is in ketosis. Everytime I go in I do those ketone stick things and it NEVER shows that I'm in ketosis.

I go in for WI tomorrow morning. I guess I'll discuss all this with them and maybe talk to the manager. I know they are all getting really sick of me at the center. And what's worse is they are encouraging me to go to these classes and the instructors are encouraging me to talk...so I say exactly what has been on my mind and I think that might be discouraging for other people to hear. I try to add in things like "I think this is a great program, I just don't know if it's the right one for me" and "I know tons of people who have been successful on it, including me, I'm just ready for it to end". I hope I'm not discouraging people on here or in the classes.

lcmaly,

You're not discouraging, trust me. I just feel for you and you frustrations. Maybe your body is right where it should be for you?! I know they have their 'goals' but come on. You're 6' tall and their goal for you is what I eventually want to get to, about 145. I can't imagine that that would be a 'healthy' weight for you. I wish you luck. Please be sure and report on what they have to say! I'll be anxiously awaiting your news.

Thanks for sharing this idea. I've done it the last 2 days for lunch, and it's a great change of pace (and really feels like dessert!).

Does anybody know if there is a MRC thread on here for those of us that have 60 plus lbs to lose or who are starting at 200lbs plus? If there isn't would anyone be interested in have one started? Not to diminish or make light (no pun intended) anyones journey on here no matter what they have to lose.

I might be just talking out my be-hind but thought I would check. Because I think there are some unique challenges that come with being in that group and it might be nice to have a easily searchable thread.

Let me know. Send me a message if you want. Thx

Default It has been a while, so please bare with me

Hi all,
First I wanted to say ty in advance if you get through reading this. I do not even know where to begin, but I am just going to talk and I am sorry if this gets long winded.
Well, first and foremost, I fell off the bandwagon BIG TIME! I have had so much on my plate and I thought I got back on track one time and I did not, I fell flat on my face.
I took 5 weeks off of work in hopes of finding a better job and I needed some time away. I did great while my husband was gone till I found out some things that have caused some marital problems. I got so stressed out and started to drink really heavy. I did this for 2 weeks and then I thought I was back on track till I found out more things and I lost control of myself. I had no problems eating right, I just drank, drank and drank.
I was so upset with myself- I finally went back to the clinic this past Tuesday after not going for 2 weeks. When I went back 2 weeks ago I gained 4 lbs and could not be anything but mad at myself. But then this past Tuesday when I walked back in the clinic I was in tears. I cried and cried and explained everything more in detail and my counselor was the BEST! I swear I would be lost with out her today. So when I went back she listened to me and she got me back on track. I went in for weigh in this afternoon and I lost 4.5 lbs since Tuesday! Thank YOU! I am still behind because my average is 2.2lbs per week, but it is better than 1.8 I fell to when I hit my first bump. But it will get better.
I talked to them about my latest doctors appt that went bad. My cholesterol jumped 30 pts since I have been on the program. My counselor was great. She explained to me to stop eating eggs every day and not to eat so much hard cheese. Both are high in cholesterol. I still have to start my medication my doc put me on, which broke my heart I have to start it. It is scary and i am afraid to take medication so it is hard on me. My cholesterol was 250 pts. My doctor was in shock that it jumped so high so fast and my BP is very good and my weight is dropping. So I am not eating eggs or as much hard cheese for a bit. I asked if it was related to the drinking I did for 2 weeks and she explained I would of had to drink a lot more, more frequently.
So basically, I guess I am writing to let you all know, I definitely need the support. My husband is back on ship for 4 weeks so I am not drinking- I was only doing it to get past some things and I am focused again. Thank you all for listening, I hope this all makes sense.

I'm in Papillion and go to the Bellevue center. Where are you? There's lots of us from NE here
I go to the Lincoln center...I live about 40 miles NW of Lincoln (Near Seward) How fun would it be for some of us Nebraskans on this site to meet in Lincoln or Omaha for some skinny clothes shopping (once we get closer to our goals that is!) How was your day today? Mine was pretty good, I played dodge ball with my Kindergarten class...talk about a work out!

Well, the yellow menu is the first menu some people start on at MRC. There are several different colors that have different combinations of food depending on where you are in your weight loss journey! Are you considering MRC or are you a member?

Congrats Janett!
I knew it would break. I went though a similar struggle last month, weeks of no weight loss and had begun to think that would be it, I would never get past 22 lbs or whatever... Thankfully, my plateau finally broke as well. I noticed that the weight loss was still slow (1.5 lbs/week). I had been off Enhancer for 6 weeks. I decided to restart it and am now up to 3 lbs lost this week since last Sat. so I think it might actually help surprisingly enough. It does nothing for my appetite though. Anyways, so happy for you!

In my opinion...that's BS! I know for a fact that there are ladies at my center who are NO WAY less body fat than me and they are on stabilization. I feel like I'm at a great weight now and I look pretty darn good too. I'm sick of this program and I just want my life back. But I can't risk jumping off program and just gaining all the weight back. So I'm waiting and waiting, trying to get to THEIR goal weight for me so that I can ease back in to normal life with their stabilization program.

Maybe they are stressing my body fat percentage as goal rather than weight because they secretly think I don't need to lose more weight and they just want to have something to keep me on their program and keep paying for their products!

ALSO, today at my WI, the MRC chick said "well your BMI is going in the right direction. You are at a BMI of 20. Goal is 14.5 - 18.5." Uh...WHAT!? EVERYTHING I've ever read says that any BMI under 18.5 is considered UNDERWEIGHT and very unhealthy and that anything between 18.5-24 is considered healthy.

Sorry for all the negativity but I'm just SO FRUSTRATED!
I hear you! That is exactly what happened to me about a year ago. I was at my goal weight and good BMI but couldn't stabilize because of my %. I was leaving out of state for 2 months and knew that I would not be able to do this there. I asked repeatedly to stop and start stabilization.

Here is my warning for you tho...I am one year later (just about) and weight more than my start weight! I didn't do stabilization or maintenance because I left out of state and called but they said they would call me and didn't. I didn't want to go back in after I came back because I had gained weight and knew that I only had 2 weeks left of my plan and wouldn't get to stabilization so I didn't go back. I gained weight very quickly.

I am now doing this again. They let me resign and I still get the stabilization and maintenance I paid for originally but I was VERY upfront about needing to know there is an end. I understand that you cannot go about eating what ever, but this plan teaches me to diet not to live on this program. I need to know that I will move on and have a life that doesn't obsess about food!!!

Anyway....enough about me.....you keep going and when you get where you want to be tell them. You paid for stabilization and you can start it anytime you want. That is what they told me. I could even start today they said. So....the control is yours. They do want you under 26% because they swear that is when it is easiest to keep weight off but the power is yours!

Jennifer, we are all here for you!! You are not alone! We all have had problems in our marriages, and I will pray for you and your family! As far as the weight goes, it sounds like you have it under control now, and that will make you feel more in control of the other parts of your life. Hang in there and remember that you have people rooting for you!
