Hi everyone, went to my food class tonight and lost 3.5 pounds since Monday (4 days ago!) I am so excited, I plan to start yellow menu Sunday. Any word of wisdom?

You'll most likely get really sick of vegetables but just remind yourself you can do anything for 4 days and you'll get through it. The blue menu for days 5-10 is better and then the green menu for day 11 until stabilization is even better. The first 10 days are hard and the first 4 are really hard but just stick with and get through it.

You might also hit a plateau around days 7-10 and it depends on the person for how long it lasts. Mine lasted 10 days and it got really hard to stick with it but I did and was rewarded with a pretty good drop at the end.

Last night was so hard to stay OP. DH and his BFF went to a friend's band's concert. We were out way later than my normal bedtime so I and everyone else was hungry. On the way home, DH and BFF asked me to pull through a fast food restaurant to get something to eat. I didn't get anything and had to smell french fries the rest of the way home.

BUT, I went to weigh in today and am down 3 lbs, so 5 lbs in 2 weeks! So I am proud of my self for not making up a stupid reason to justify fast food and I am seeing my rewards!

I also let the counselor that I really liked know that I would prefer to weigh in with her each week, so that made me feel good too

Wow fireice, thanks for all the info. Yes, I was thinking that looked like ALOT of veggies but luckily I like most of the veggies I can have so I am hoping if I eat them in a variety I wont get too sick of them We'll see but I am feeling pretty determined to do this so with all of your tips and support, I think that I can succeed! I am scared of the dreaded plateau, I hope that I can be as strong as you were when and if that happens! Thanks again!

Most of them qualify for the discount (10/$90) or $12/box.
TOM = time of month

Good for you! I hadn't seen you post in this thread in a few days so I was wondering what you decided. This forum is a fabulous support group! I wish you the best in your endeavor. Happy Mother's day to all on this forum as well.

I learned a valuable lesson yesterday! I was in a rush, went to WI, lost 1.5 lb then went to a friends house for a Pampered Chef party. I was NOT prepared for it. First I forgot my HNS and my supplements. They cooked a pasta dish, salad, soup and dessert. I ate the salad then had small portions of everything else. BIG mistake. I had the worst headache ever and it is still with me this morning. My body was just not used to all the carbs and sugar. I felt like I had a hangover without the alcohol to induce it.

Lesson learned: I am going to pack some HNS and my lunch all day weight loss in my purse to keep with me all the time. This was the first "cheat" since starting 4/4/09. Next time I am going to just "say no"! That bit of pasta and pie is just not worth it. I guess I had to find it out for myself.

I am back on track and plan to stay there!!! This diet has been so easy to follow and I have never felt better while losing wt. I won't be so inconsiderate of my goal and my well being again.

Have you talked to the center lately? Did they give you any tips? My only suggestion if you are staying OP completely already would be to try upping your water. I know, it's hard enough to get in the 72 ozs. but I upped mine to 128 ozs. when my loss slowed a bit and it seemed to help. What about your flax? How many are you taking now? Could be your body just needs a few little changes to shake it up a bit. Plateaus stink and are horrible to get through but it is all worth it later on. You can do this!!!
Hey Keepin! I am so relieved to hear from you!! I do not understand this!! I hear other people say they cheated, then were still down a pound. I have not cheated AT ALL and am up TWO POUNDS!!! I did call my counselor and sent her my food diary for the last two weeks. She said to cut out cheese, so i am, and a couple other minor things. I do eat a lot of ground turkey, do you think that could hurt? I also mainly eat the same things mostly every day. EG: the MRC french toast for breakfast, lettuce and cottage cheese and pinepple for lunch, and a lot of ground turkey and green beans for supper. a few exceptions, but those are my mainstays. I take three flax before every meal, plus 2 MRC-6 and 2 Enhancers. She said i do not have to cut out the creamies, and I only have one per day. I will add more water, adn she said no more than 3-4 times a week on the exercise. This started when i got sick and did not really eat for three days, but that was over a week ago. I am NOT giving up!! I am going to FIGHT, but it is so disheartening!!!!!

Hey everyone, I hope you are all having a wonderful "Mothers' Day" if your a mother and I hope your having a wonderful "Happy Sunday" if not, heck, I hope everyone is just having a fantasitic day! I'm just in the mood to chat so here goes. I have read everyone's post and want to congratulate everyone on your wonderful life change, it seems your doing fantastic. I too have been like a few of ya'll and had the infamous plateau and man it sucks to have to push through it, but I know everyone can hang in there and do it. I love my MRC and love the program that it represents. I understand how hard it is to make sure you carry your HNS and vitamins with you and be prepared for anything anyone throws at you. My purse just seems to be getting bigger and bigger, its packed full of HNS's and vitamin bottles, but I know its all there and its my form of support. A little reminder that I am trying to get on the healthy side of my life. Shoot, I even pack some of the individual low fat dressing packets so that if I need to hit the drive thru at a fast food restaurant I can go ahead and get a salad ad be set. Guess I better quit blabbing and get my butt in gear, going to a movie today for mothers day and think I am going to try on some more clothes that have been in the back of my closet for several years that I swore "one day, I'll fit back into them". I have been able to go shopping there for the last couple of months and really love it! Anyway, huggers to everyone!!!!

Hi Fifties Lady! Well, I know TOM stands for time of the month, I can also tell you that at my center, the soups and jellos come 7 to a box and cost the same as the HNS mixers. I understand that that is what they are but you cant have them until you are into your program a little ways.

OK this is my first full day on program. I am hungry! I drank all my water and ate everything EXACTLY as I was supposed to, I hope this gets easier! It will help that tomorrow I work. Maybe a Sunday when I was home all day wasnt the smartest day to start...Oh well, only 3 days of the Yellow menu left...thats good!

Did you already go into the center and have a consultation?

Pond Hopper and Jace...thanks for your info...enjoyed it and learned more about MRC....first, I have to laugh....since I'm over 50, no wonder I didn't know what TOM stood for...lol.

Yes Jace, I had a consultation last week, but wasn't sure if I was going to join yet....the cost kind of floored me...mainly the HNS costs....I kind of figured the base cost was going to be around $400, because I have lots to lose unfortunately....so they figured me at 24 weeks. But the HNS floored me, especially since they keep track that you order what you are suppose to be drinking from them. But I guess I have adjusted to the cost now and am ready....I had planned to go in tomorrow and sign up and then I believe I go in Friday for my first class and menu plan. Well, not sure now if I can because there is a family member who is quite ill and not sure if this may not be the week to join, in case I will be going out of town mid week....Just don't know what to do, but I really do want to sign up tomorrow and start....now I'm kicking myself for not signing up right at first, I would have had a week behind me by now.

I am so ready to get this weight off of me and start excercising and feeling good again...It's been way too long.

I do appreciate everyone's support and comments and it really has helped me so much. I am so proud of everyone's success stories and I know I can do this. I hope everyone had a beautiful Mother's Day today....you should be all proud Mothers. :-)
