Zenor have you tried contacting the local real estate offices, I know a lot of times in smaller towns and around here they manage the rentals for people. We live in Washington and at one point considered renting a house we owned when we decided to move, several of the real estate agencys had branches that handled that. Plus they might be able to hook you up with a local office that you can't find online for that kind of thing.

Sorry to hear its so backwater but we live "on the other side of the mountains" and its definatley not like that here. But to be fair where you are moving is where most people like to go for things like vacation properties. Its college, farming and vacations stuff out that way, most of the businesses are in the western washington (seattle, bellevue) areas.

Good luck and if you need help calling around PM me, we don't live in that area persay but it might be easier for me to call some of them for you

Hello everyone!!

LittleRed- I promise to take pics, but I will wait. I will probably do that in September. I love my seniors too! They make my job fun.

QueenJane- Great to see a face with the name! Your little one is so adorable!!!!

All of you guys have such cute kids!!!

Carrie- So good to see you again. I'm glad your you guys made it ok. HOw do you like your new place? Don't worry you will get back on track once you can get everything settled down!

Craftymommy- Hey welcome back! Glad you won a little!! 116? Wooo...that's a bit much for me.

Zenor- Girl, I will tell you that coming from Cali to WA is a bit different. There are just major differences. I hope DH gets along with it! I'm still trying to deal. LOL I would offer my resources but unfortunately I don't know that much. Though one of my resident's daughter is a real estate agent.

CoolMom- Woohooo....on the weight loss!! We got about the same stats! I'm also 5'3. Congrats!!!

GrammyL- Just thought I would give ya one! The spanish rice sounds good, I might have to try that with some brown rice. I'm a sucker for spanish rice. I do understand with the use of using your extra calories. I did that too...not good!

Irishfairy- You can do it! If you need any help or questions or even those moments where you need to vent this a place to do it! LOL

Speaking of clothes... I bit the bullet and decided to pick up a pair of pants that actually fit, and wow, I went down to a 14! I was wearing 16 for the longest times. Even 14 is a bit bit loose! Yay! Well that's one of my NSV for the week! Have a great day everyone!!!

Zenor if you ever roll into Portland we could hook up for a drink or something! We all have digital cameras down here. LOL!!!!

Tinky congrats on the 14s. That's what I'm in for pants now too. As soon as I cross over to size 12 its going to be like Christmas in my closet. That's what I have the most of.

I am getting my brand new fridge with water and ice maker today!!!! And we just bought a hot water (200 degree) tap for the sink. I have been dreaming of having one for a long time. I can get rid of the tea kettle and its going to be great for cooking and warming up the frozen breastmilk while I'm at work. I am so excited for all the new conveniences coming my way.

Good Evening!

Calories: 1599
Fiber: 18 (eek!)

Exercise: 20 Turbo Jam, and 40 mins of Strength Training, along with all the walking I did at work today!! I had to work the floor since we were one nursing assistant down. Ugh..

Well gotta keep accountability right?

CoolMom- Thank you! I took a chance and bought it w/o trying them on. I breathed a sigh of relief when I put them on at home! LOL Ooh I've been eyeing a few fridges myself!! How lucky that you get a hot water tap. I'm jealous.

Okay, so I'm just totally not having time to post on FitDay. Chose to rekindle with my husband this evening, instead!

Goals:

1. Eat 3 servings of fruit. - I missed this mark and only got in 2. Good amount of veggies, though!

2. Drink 3L of HOH - working on my 4th right now!

3. Resist the tortilla chips. - Yes and no. Yes because I didn't snack on them all day long. But no because I realized that bean burritos were on the menu for tonight, and that included a small serving of chips.

I need to post my goals in a conspicuous place so I'll notice them during the day.

Here's what I did today:

BREAKFAST: 1 egg, 1 slice lean deli ham, 1 slice ww bread
SNACK: grapes
LUNCH: chicken wrap with blue cheese, lettuce, tomato
SNACK: brown rice with 1 oz. trimmed roast beef
DINNER: 1 bean burrito (green peppers, fat-free refried beans, 1 oz. cheese, onions, salsa) and 1 oz. tortilla chips

EXERCISE: Walked around Target for 1.5 hours wearing both babies (32# combined weight) pushing a cart; wore individual babies (16# each) for about 2.5 hours total

Didn't get a chance to use the ellipitcal at the fitness room, because like I said, I chose to spend that time with my husband.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes from everyone. I'm so impressed with the continued losses, ladies! Great job, we can do it!!!!!

Cals for today~ 1361
Fiber~ 37 grams

My fat was really high today (43%) YIKES! I think it was the fried green tomatoes I made to go with our fish tonight. I saw the tomatoes at the farmers market and I had to buy them. Has any one ever breaded and baked green tomatoes before? I may have to search for a recipe. Green tomatoes are so yummy!

So, it looks like we may have our housing figured out. The house we wanted to rent (the one with the rental manager who didn't want to rent sight unseen), well DH talked to the owner and he understands and has okay'd it. So as long as our references are good (don't see why they wouldn't be) then we can rent it. Yay! It's really cute. We haven't seen pictures of every room, but someone at the college took pictures through a window for us. It's a two bedroom bungalow (? kinda barn looking to me) with hardwood floors and it was recently remodeled. No garage, but it's almost across the street from the campus and it's walking distance to stores. I hope to walk most of the time, anyway. I hope it works out! I'll be so relieved if it does. They were one of the few places that was dog friendly. I think I really need to stop stressing. Things seem to be working out on their own. I'm such a worrier! Maybe that should be my next bad habit to conquer .

edzard~ Thanks for the offer of help! It looks like I may not be needing it, but I really appreciate it! Any other advice for a soon-to-be Washington-ite?

CoolMom~ I don't think our route will take us through Portland (I think we'll be going through Bend), although it's a great city. DH has never been there, so I'm sure he'll want to go sometime soon. I was there 5 years ago and I really wish I'd had more time to explore! When we decide to swing through there I will let you know.

Tinky~ I'm interested to hear what is different in WA versus California. Are there any specific laws that are different? Culture shock? Etc? I drove through OR and into WA five years ago and it was interesting to me. You could seriously "feel" the shift about halfway through OR. It wasn't a bad shift, just different. People seem nicer in the Pacific NW, not that people in CA are mean (maybe in more of a hurry in a laid back way?) It's hard to explain, maybe you know what I mean? I have to say, in regards to Seattle, it's the cleanest city I've ever been in! Well, perhaps it's similar in cleanliness to Vancouver, BC, but it's cleaner than Cali cities or NYC. I had serious culture shock when we went to NYC, but I got over it quick.

Cjc~ Great job on all that water! I'm still amazed at all the exercise you get carrying those cute babies around! I bet you'll have no problem keeping up with them once they are toddlers.

calories- 1,230
fiber- 31
cal. burned- 912

Tomorrow I'm cutting down to 20-30 net carbs. I will keep my fat limited to 2% cheese and 15 almonds. I am going to be high protein and low carb- low fat. I am really nervous but I really want to reach 140 lbs by August 16th. I have something going on that day and I need to look my best. After august 16th I will continue my WOL.

Hi,
just a quick note before I run out to the Dr. and curves.

Zoe, Tinky,
I feel better today. And you girls did it.
We are 3 weigh about the same, and Now I see for the first time, someone at my size wearing the size 14’s. Thanks
So many have been saying how small their clothes are and it makes
me feel like a failure. Because so many say at this weight they were 10-12’s.

Carrie
walking around with 32 pounds on your body. WoW! who needs to work out?
that is a better workout than I have ever seen.

Zenor.
When we were young, we had fried green tomatoes. Floured and fried, That was all that mom did. Well and added some salt and pepper.

Here’s hoping all goes well with your housing situation.

My calories for Tuesday,
1628
fiber almost to high for me at 50
and 7 L of water.
well I have to get off for now. its time to leave for the Dr.
have a great one girls.

Yesterday was pretty good, but like Zenor, I kinda blew it on the fat grams (had pan-fried zucchini latkes, one of my DS's favorite meals).

cal: 1558
Fat%: 36%
Carb%: 53%
Prot%: 11%
Fiber: 26
Water: 80oz

We took a walk outside after dinner, and I did WATP after DS went to bed. Does anyone else do Leslie Sansone DVD workouts? I got this from NetFlix to try, and I had to laugh b/c they've got an option to do the whole workout without the vocal track. Leslie's lips are a flapping, but you just hear the music. Now that's something when even the DVD company realizes how annoying she can be!

RocknRoll ... probably by the time you get back to your computer, I'll be at work. But that's the nice thing about message boards, yes?

Ok ... you do eat a lovely variety of foods! I'm not really familiar with alot of veggies based protein products so I'm not sure how the protein content is. I rely on chicken, egg whites, tuna, ff cottage cheese, meat and whey protein mostly.
If I was going to chose something on which you can improve .. it's be the processed and artificial stuff ... cool whip, fudgesicle, jello. The smoked salmon, chili and deli ham sound wonderful but if you were into minute tweaking you could try fresh instead.

But I gotta tell ya ... that's yummy looking food plan.
Refresh my old memory ... what activities do you do?
