  • My "before"
OK, I figured out how to post a photo, and thought I'd put out my "before"...stay tuned for the "after"

This was taken last Friday, so I weigh about 208-ish...down 11 from my top non-pregnancy weight.

  • Your son is super cute! Oh, and I love the purse! I have a black seat belt bag myself.
  • Howdy All.

Here I am behind once again. I decided to work 8 hrs today to try and catch up. Yah Right. No really, I am very close to having everything caught up from only working half days but I have a few reports left to do. DD has to go to the dentist tomorrow so I am going to work until its time to take her. I really miss my long mornings but who can enjoy it when your stressed from the time to get to work till you go to bed. NOT ME! So its better just to work.

I have totally blown my diet for the past three weeks. Good intentions but I now realize I still have not beaten the stress eating habit and eating out of bordom. Then again can't really tell how much damage because TOM came a few weeks early. The change is so much fun. I sure hope that it doesn't decided to come every two weeks. That would be horrible. I am taking it as a sign that the time is drawing near for it to end forever. LOL!

Really enjoying those silly chickens. I have to so calm that I just slide my hand under my ladies and they just sit there. The roosters are all starting to test their voices and boy do they LOVE fruit and tomatoes.

Well I better get going and I will make time tomorrow to stop in. I doubt I will ever find time to chat again like I used to but I will keep my fingures crossed. I may be losing my student help in the office because of budget cuts which means everything is on me. I personally don't think there will be enough time in the day and I will have to cut services.

    Talk at you all tomorrow.
  • Evening,
Home at last, I just finished feeding those hungry folks… they act very happy to see me everyday. That is probably half of my joy in the job.
Thanks for the votes of appreciation, It means a lot to me.

    Zenor,
You are looking hot! Showed my hubby how good you look… at the same basic weight as me. I told him that’s what I want to look like when I grow up.
Yes, its Thursday. The big 50.

My kids threw me a dinner last night. Cake and ice cream included. YES, I even ate that. So I just have to behave for few days. It WAS worth it. and The kids worked so hard to do it for me. I had too.
My son hung fancy lights out side and had a 4 ft blow up cake. So funny, I did not expect that.

    Tinky,
thanks, I do feel like I make a difference.
I like the pizza too. but I only order just enough so there are NO leftovers, and I only allow the one pc. with a large salad. I even have my son and his wife eating the salads with me. I feel no guilt at doing that.

You say your pants are getting big. OK. pics of you next!

Only person outside of this house that notices, is my mother-in-aw. And she does not ever say anything she does not mean.

    Susan,
I do love it. Come join me? its lots of fun.

    Carrie
So glad you could make it back. Sounds like you have everything back right on track. Good for you… Keep it up.

    Lara,
TOM. JUST wait… next you get the hot flashes, and night sweats!
Yuk! I am doing that now! I can’t tell you how miserable I have been.
I see the dr. again on Wednesday. I am telling him, it was too soon to take me off the meds. I need something. I am sweating as I sit here… doing Nothing. good luck.
As far as blowing it. Naw… you are right back here, working hard. Not giving up. So stay positive. and keep it up. I am glad to see you back. missed you.

    QueenJane,
You are such a pretty girl, and that little guy of yours is adorable. Just think… in a few months, no one will know you. As tall as you are, it shows so much better and faster. Believe me
Like that car behind you…is it yours?
  • Quote: Coolmom -- are you a babywearer? you mentioned having babe "strapped to your back" -- what are you using? (I still "babywear" my 28-month-old)
I have a couple Ergo baby carriers we use everywhere! we can and do use them for the baby, the 3 year old and the 6 year old (on occasion). I carry the 6 year old just for fun and a workout and the three year old to keep him from running around a store. We are stroller free and its wonderful!

I never did well with slings, because they hurt my back so I was so happy to find the Ergo several years ago.

Your little guy is so cute and I have to ditto about the bag. Very cool! I love purple.

Tall! What a compliment! I'm only 5'5", and I've always considered myself "short." I guess it's all relative, though, right? Thank you for making my day -- and for saying nice things about my boy. And no, the smokin' hot GTO in the background is not mine -- we were at a car show this past weekend. My little guy LOVES cars. He's 28 months old, but can identify many (Hummer, Jeep, Mini Cooper, Cadillac, Saturn, Buick, Subaru, Honda, Toyota). His favorite toy car is a 1968 GTO, so that's why the pic.

I couldn't do slings, either...that one-hip thing really threw me out of whack. I had an ergo for awhile, but then got into Mei Tais and Wraps. We don't wear much anymore, but I kept a Kozy Carrier Mei Tai and a Storchenwiege for when we do (I had a WHOLE collection -- only way to get things done as a single mama, IMHO!)

The big secret about the purple bag -- it cost me $12. Is that a hoot, or what? I get so many comments about it, and it was the cheapest bag I've ever bought.

I rented a couple of Leslie Sansone WATP DVDs to try out when I can't make it to the gym (fast 3 miles and family walk). My DS and I did family walk tonight. He wasn't too into it, but I think it's b/c I don't let him watch TV so anytime he sees one on, he turns into a little zombie and just sits and stares at it. But mama got in 40 minutes of exercise before he went to bed and we had fun TOGETHER. I'm putting a feather in my cap!

    Have a great night, everyone!

  • We're back from Laughlin. Man it was freaky hot. The high's were in the 116's. It was insane. I tried so hard not to eat too badly. It's hard when our options are restaurants and fast food (and free drinks at the casino just for gambling ). I weighed myself this morning and I hadn't gained any weight. Phew.

It's back to my good eating habits. I'm actually really happy about that. I did win 20 bucks. Hopefully I can catch up on the posts on this board now.

    Have a great night ladies.

Okay, so I'm excited about moving and all, but this is turning into a big pain in the you know what! Because the town is small there is little on line in regards to house rentals (except on the website for the news paper.) On top of that almost none of the places allow dogs. Arg! We did find a place that looks cute, but now they are wavering because they don't like to rent properties sight unseen. We are trying to get some one at the college to go take pictures for us (actually he took a few through the windows earlier in the week.) Hopefully, that appeases them, because it seems perfect. It's so odd to me. I would think in a college town they'd be used to renting places without people looking at more than pictures. Our schedule doesn't allow us to go up there so we have to do everything over the computer and telephone/fax. Why must everything be difficult and stress me out!

Sorry, I just needed to vent. I'm sure it'll work out, but man I'm stressed. My BP must be through the roof these days.

I'll comment on more posts tomorrow. I'm sleepy.
  • I must have missed where you're moving Zenor? That must be an adventure to not see a place before choosing. I hope its a good neighborhood for you.

3 pounds lost at my TOPS meeting! and I am officially in the 150s. I didn't want to move my ticker until it was my evening weight. I bagged up all my 14/16 shirts and passed them on to a friend and made a dash to Target.

Medium shirts and a new bra and I am a new woman!!! It feels so good. I can't believe how sloppy I looked. and all my bras were on their last, snaggled hook. lol

  • Morning!

Yes a new bra makes me feel like a new woman too!

Good luck with those chips Carrie, those are one of my triggers. Can't eat just some ... Pass that salad would ya? Yummy!
  • Theresa ~ Thanks for the words of encouragement. I will never give up! Oh, I have been having night sweats, hot/cold days, moody, sleeping problems, you name it for a couple of years now. I noticed last month TOM came a week early and now I am consistantly going earlier. In all the years I have been married I have always been on TOM on our anniversary. This is the first year I am not. That is how regular I have always been. So instead of 3 weeks off and one week on, its two weeks off and one week on. Maybe its trying to wear itself out. HAHAHAHA!

Queenjane ~ Your little guy is such a cutty. I like Mini Coopers myself and some day hope to have one. HAHAHAHA! I like little cars and ironically I have an extended Trailblazer. The main reason is my DH is 6' and around 350 lbs, a Mini Cooper is not real practical. That and we have two DD's and a DGS we take with us a lot. I can dream. My favorite car I ever owned was a VW Rabbit, what a fun car.

Crafty Mom ~ That is just way to hot! I wouldn't be able to enjoy anything because that is what would have been on my mind, that I was hot. I guess that is why I live in Michigan, I don't care for the heat.

Zenor ~ I would think that a college town would have lots. We have more than enough rental places around here, actually to much. It has exploded around here and I can't picture all the places being filled but let me tell you, it doesn't help on the rates at all.

Zoe ~ That is fabulous! WTG!

Carrie ~ Your doing great keep up the good work.

This week DH is working on a well that is local so he is home every night. Its nice but that also means cooking foods he will like. Well, little does my family know but I am sneaking healthy meals in on them. HAHAHAHA! Last night I made homemade tortillas (no so healthy), chicken and spanish rice. It is actually very healthy. I took chicken breast, cut it into strips and seasoned it with camino and garlic powder, browned it. Then took it out, put a little EVOO in the pan and put my rice in and browned it. Then 1 can of SF Tomatoes and water and returned the chicken to the pan on the top and cooked until the rice was done. It really is good.

Right now I am not concentrating as much on the calories and more on portion control. That is a huge hurdle for me. I know how to cook healthy but I just don't want to eat just a single protion. What I have caught myself doing with calorie counting, and this is naughty, is eating extra portions because my calories for the day allowed for it. So, for dinner last week as an example is I could eat 4 oz of steak because calories allowed it, and I did. Did I need it no and I need to get away from that mantality.

Well I better get going and work on my ACS Report.

I will check back in a while.
  • Coolmom~ We are moving to Central Washington. Ellensburg to be exact. It looks like a really cute town, but it seems to be a little behind as far a technology goes. Most of the places we've called can't send us pictures because they don't have a digital camera. What??? I thought I was behind the times since my digital camera is quite old.

I'm begining to think perhaps we are a bit crazy for doing it this way. Everyone seems wierded out by it except us. Oh well, can't be helped, we just don't have the time or $$$ to go up there before hand.

New bras make me feel like a new woman too and they make clothes fit so much better! Welcome to the 150's.

cjc~ Welcome back! How'd the move go?

Grammy~ I think the vacancy rate is pretty high (at least according to the latest census), but nothing is posted online. That's what is so wierd to me. Maybe it's just a California/big city thing, but I thought most rentals were posted somewhere online? We are even having a hard time locating property management companies that handle rentals.

I know we are moving to a small town. I've lived in smaller mountainous regions before, so I think I'll adjust okay. DH will probably have some major culture shock since he went to grad school in the LA area. It's definately a slower pace of life. I'm looking forward to it in a lot of ways, I just wish we had a place to live so I can pack in peace and focus on other things. There is so much to organize and on top of all this I have to train my replacement at work (she starts tomorrow.)
