Hi Stephanie and welcome!

I have been a lousy little calorie counter for a few days. I'm very happy that it's Monday, I'm off today and I'm going to get my fridge and my head in order.

Hello everyone and welcome to our new friends here on the thread. My daughter's party went really good. She said it was her best one ever. She got a American Girl doll from my sister and well the look on her face was priceless, lol. Plus she got her ear's pierced after the party, so she is just thinking that she is a princess or something. Went to a rock festival yesterday, it was actually a 4 day thing, but we only had free tickets for 1 day, so we seen Uncle Kracker, Styx and a little of Def Leopard. I would have loved to see more of them, but they didn't come on until 10 pm and well 5:30 comes to early for that. But it was a good show, we are thinking of maybe camping there next year not for sure yet. I only got a little burnt too, surprising for me. I didn't notice til this morning but my scalp got burnt and alittle on my back by my shirt line. But my calories for the past 2 days have been really good, just like others on here my TOM is raplidly approaching so I hope that I continue to go down in weight but I never know with my TOM. Good luck to everyone this week!!

hey all and welcome stephanie ( I am fairly new too )

well I bought harry potter saturday and was done it by sunday morning and I am DEVESTATED I can't believe its over I have been reading them since it came out and the excitment of each book coming out is officially over!!! I mean we still have 2 movies but its not the same....*tear** the book was amazing though!!!

I have been doing good with cals...except yesterday was like 30 over :S I really need to work on exercise but with being so sick lately I haven't the energy. I am exhausted and I haven't even done anything yet today. I plan on laundry all day!!! I am so behind between being sick, busy and tired I haven't go any laundry done in TWO WEEKS!!!! my poor baby has been in only his diaper all weekend (its really hot in here so its ok) makes it really hard to plan and eat properly especially with a whiney sick husband who you have to wait on as well. hopefully this week is better!!!!

Good Morning Everyone.

Well the scale is still the same, I know the culprit was the chinese food I had. It made me so darn bloated. Ugh!

Stephanie- You've come to the right place. Calorie counting is the only that has worked for me as well. I wish you the best of luck in your journey.

Susan- Ha, I wish I could say the same about Monday! It's the start of the week for me. Have a great day off!

Irishfairy- Glad to see that you're feeling better.

Petra- American dolls, I remember those...I wanted one so bad. LOL The rock festival sounded like fun, Def Leppard, wow....I didn't realize they were still touring. I just saw them on an 80's special on Vh1 last week. LOL!

Well have a great day everyone. Good luck, hopefully the scale goes down for me.

Ugh...what a weekend. Here's a short run-down: I had a houseguest last week, which made it difficult to get anything done around the house (and made eating on plan more of a challenge due to "let me treat you to dinner!") I visited my mom, had lots of company, ate out, my son's naps got all screwed up (due to loud company arriving during naptime both days), my mom was upset when we left (crying -- there was "too much commotion and too much company and nobody ever comes to see her when we aren't there"), my DS barfed superman ice cream all over my car on the way home, I only managed a basic fruits-and-veggies grocery shop, and the laundry didn't get done. AND my TOM is still hanging around and my seasonal allergies are in full swing even though I'm on a double-dose of my regular antihistamines. Honestly, I was so stressed out that I wasn't even TRYING to stay on plan. Ugh.

Last couple of days:
Friday Saturday Sunday
Cals 1723 2367 2108
Fat% 33 38 18
Carb% 51 46 65
Prot% 16 17 17
Fiber g 22 12 27

I lost 0.5 pounds last week. All my good work during the week neutralized my out-of-control mess on the weekend. Going to try to keep a lot of my emotional eating this week to get a better handle on why I do what I do. It's another weekend at mom's this coming weekend and I can't afford to blow it two weeks in a row!

Today is a new day, though, right? I'm back on plan.

Queen Jane, better to be on plan 5 of 7 than 0 of 0....your still making progress for you health and you. Just think of the great example you can set, showing everyone what some determination can do when you are there next weekend. That is what I did after one bad weekend camping, I prepared my self for the next camping trip and ended up wowing everyone with how healthy I was, in fact my MIL lost 4 pounds that week (5 days) when she decided to have me count calories for her and is now doing the calorie counting herself!

Tinky- mmmmm chinese food! I am avoiding our favorite chinese resturant right now...I know if I go IT WILL BE BAD. Between the wheat and just all the dishes I like sigh* ...

Anyway I am feeling awesome! I am down 3.5 pounds this week, I am eating almost no wheat and my calorie average for the last 7 days is 1612. I think that has been a huge help to me by avoiding wheat, one day I ate pizza and it was full of wheat and the next day I was up half pound. That happens when I have LOTS of salt or wheat.

Also I spend too much of my time sitting in front of a computer in a dining room chair so this week I bought a large exercise ball to sit on. I think that is helping too because I can't sit still on it like I do a chair. I find myself bouncing and rolling and stretching, balancing lol.

Hope everyone enjoys their week and is doing good. I am very grateful for this site it keeps me focused and uplifted to hear that everyone else is in the same places and goes thru the same stuff, just at different times!

hooray for you, edzard!

I guess I'm just "undertall" b/c I'm going to have to lose a whole lot more weight to get to "overweight" (another 27 pounds to get to <30 BMI)

And you're right...5/7 is better than 0/0. I'm picking myself up, dusting myself off, and starting all over again this week. I know I can do better next week!

Hello Counters!

Well I was watching a re-run of Oprah today, with Dr. Oz. It was an episode that I missed. It was quite interesting. Especially the part where he says that men who lose 35 lbs will gain an inch on their ahem! LOL!
I was so grateful that it was on, because it helped keep me focus while doing the Elliptical machine!

Edzard- Woohoo, you are my inspiration! Not too shabby there. So what's your favorite Chinese Restaurant? DF and I used to frequent Peking House in Shoreline, but I only go once in a blue moon, as a treat meal! LOL

RockNRoll- Girl, I see a RockN body...(heheheh) you have certainly worked hard to get it! You go girl! I wanna see some pics soon!

Well off to do errands I'll catch up with you later!

I still have my weigh-in tonight, but thought I'd look at my last weeks cals. Not as bad as I thought.

average cals: 1684
average fiber: 44.35
Sodium still in the 4400 range.

and, yes! my little blue dot on fitday is in the "moderately overweight" instead of "severe"...next stop "healthy weight" when I hit 135 pounds. (20 to go! eek!)

Hi everyone! I had a great weekend at my sister's house, but now I'm sick. Yuck! I'm not all that surprised since I've been stretching myself a bit thin lately. I have no calorie counts for the weekend and I'm retaining water like crazy, but I don't think any real damage has been done.

My sister order the newest Harry Potter book for me, but she did it so late that I won't have it until the end of the week. Ugh! I'm going crazy having to wait that long!!!! So, please, do not give anything away yet!

My cals are low for today since I slept late and haven't felt like eating. I'm going to try and get some more food in before I post them.

Thanks guys for all the warm welcomes!! I really appreciate it!! This is just what I need to get me going!!! Well today I rollerbladed around the block while the kids rode bikes (1.5) miles and then just got done with my 4 mile Walk Away the Pounds dvd. Something is not working on my treadmill so I will have to wait for DH to figure it out and fix it!! But at least the dvd came in handy.

I noticed a lot of you put Fiber or Sodium in your counts, is that just a personal thing? I have never counted those before.

Todays calories are 1260
Water - 96 ounces (not the greatest but I have to ease back in!! )
And only 1 Diet Pepsi today!!! Not my usual 3-5!!!

Anyway thanks again for the welcome and I hope to get to know all of you better!!!
