Calories for today~ 1592
Fiber~ 36g

I had the munchies today, but it was mostly fruit and high vitamin C type foods. I guess my body is just trying to recover. I still have the sniffles, but at least I was able to get through work today.

On a sad note we are selling our '73 Super Beetle tomorrow. DH is very sad, but we can't really take it with us. We won't have a garage in WA and even though it doesn't snow a lot, any snow is bad for classic cars. Plus, it seemed silly to us to have two cars in a town that is so walkable.

Everyone have a great evening! I'll catch up on posts when I'm feeling better.

Zenor, I have a '70 beetle and thinking of selling just because it's always having mechanical issues (as do all old V dubs) and I'm getting tired of it. Its so sad though. My first car <sniff>.

Morning everyone!

Zenor ... you're going to enjoy a walkable town! I sure do. I wasn't sure I'd like living in town but after 10 or so months, I'm loving the ability to walk everywhere I go.

Morning peeps!

Yesterday: 1572, 38F/42C/20P 26g Fiber (Yikes on the fat % -- a friend brought over dinner, and though I only had a salad it had luscious grilled halloumi cheese in it -- that cheese alone was half of my fat grams for the day!)

I have a business dinner tonight (banquet-style). I ordered the "vegetarian", but I don't know what will be served. I'm sure there'll be salad (and bread and dessert and...). I've just got to do the best I can and try to skimp on lunch and snacks a little so that I've got some wiggle room in the calorie range. Now that I'm a "planner", I hate NOT knowing what I'm going to eat for dinner.

Jeanette: Hope you continue to improve -- it stinks to be sick! How have the soda cravings been?

Zenor: way to go on the fiber and healthy snacking! I, too, would be sad to see the beetle go.

RocknRoll: don't kill yourself! You want a calorie deficit, but man, yesterday was calorie bankruptcy. You burn some (for me, about 1700) just being alive, then there's daily activities and the extra you burn by exercising. Slow & steady wins the race!

Hello ladies!
Well, after tracking calories for a bit on my own I decided to start posting so I could chat with you all! I am so happy with calorie counting. It is the only thing that has really worked for me in years! I'm motivated to work out every day and I feel better than ever! Hope you all are having a great day, and it's nice to meet you all!

I got on the scale this morning expecting a loss and I was up a pound. Not one to let it get me down I went to peek at my sodium intake for yesterday. It was over 4500mg. YIKES! That's really high for me. At least I know why that extra pound is there. Water retention, blah! Just thought I'd share. I'm sure it'll be gone tomorrow.

Everyone's doing a great job. Keep up the good work.

Well everyone hope things start going better, sounds like its been a rough week for a few of you. My SIL is having one of those too, her cleat caught in the turf playing bball and her ankel is in bad shape. The first doctor didn't do anything but tell her to wait so after a day or two she is in enough pain to find a new doctor, so I am watching her 3 kids today

My calories were 1700 and fiber 20 for yesterday, don't know if its early PMS or what but without being hungry I wanted to eat BAD yesterday. By evening I was going nuts so I finally gave in and had some popcorn almost plain. What do you all eat that is low cal that is good for munchies syndrome. I tried all the tricks that usually work and none did so I just had to eat something, but the popcorn was so flavorless that I figured I better try to find some alt to that or a better way to dress it up.

My average calories for the past 7 days was 1630 so not too bad. Hope everyone makes it thru the rest of the week succesfully.

Oh and Tinky my favorite chinese place is in Bellevue, Schewaneze Cuisine ( think that is how you spell it ) they also have a place in the International District but its too busy to go there most times lol. It was shown to us by someone from China and we LOVE it, they have a potsticker machine that was brought over from China and their "chow mein" is not like what you get in an american chinese place. I can tell you where it is if you are ever interested in trying it out, GREAT stuff!!

I'm joining the chat too! I'm loosely following The Best Life Diet but I've essentially turned it into a calorie counting plan. I'm aiming for 1500 a day and I've done pretty well sticking to it. I mostly avoid alcohol now and cut off eating two hours before bedtime, and I try to do an intense workout tape/DVD 5-6 days a week. I've lost 7-8 pounds since I finally got serious about this last Sunday (the 15th, that included period water weight loss).

I'd look at the package. If it's regular marinara then it shouldn't be 137 cals for 2T. That seems high to me. All of them are going to a bit different though, so looking at the package is the most accurate I think.

to the newbies!!

Michelle- Like Zenor said, when in doubt look at the package! Ask away, no question is a dumb question. We're here to help you!

Amy- It looks like you're off to a great start! Good luck to you!!!

Edzard- Awww sorry to hear about your daughter. Dr.'s can be a pain! Ugh...
I usually eat baby carrots with red pepper hummus, sometimes beef jerky (I'm a jerky lover), a boiled egg, yogurt, strawberries, and crackers with light laughing cow cheese! Yeah you should PM about the Chinese restaurant.

Zenor- Sodium is EVIL isn't it? I'm coming down from my sodium high! LOL!

Yay, I'm treating myself to half a cup give or take of mint chocolate chip ice cream. It's been so long since I've had it!

I'll put my calories and stuff later! Just thought I catch up on PM post! See ya later.

Ok I am posting this hopefully so I can be accountable for the night, I am getting early PMS symptoms (my SIL says it cause I am early premenopause like my mom and therefore my hormones are screwwy) and want to mindlessly eat everything!!

I am not hungry so I will not eat anymore tonight!!

1457 calories 19 fiber

that is it, that is all I will not eat more! Tea and water nothing else! Here goes......

Whew....I got on the scale this morning..it's been at least a week since i've done that...I really thought it would go up a little since I haven't been able to exercise at all....it went down 2 pounds but i'm sure that's because I haven't really been feeling like eating....but i'll take the 2lbs however I can get them...well..almost! lol

gueenjane....good luck with your dinner!! still no soda...it was really hard to begin with but I think i'm used to it now...I have my flavorings for my water and I'm drinking tea w/splenda...so i'm really doing ok with it....that's huge for me..lol

tinky....thanks for your support...i'm getting there...i've never had this pneumonia crap before and it really does stink....I can't go walking because I can't really breath right....but hopefully soon...another doctor visit tomorrow to try and figure out why this cough isn't going away...i'm not a smoker so we're not sure what's going on....but I will be back in action soon!

ovw and amy...welcome to the group....you will find amazing support here...these "chicks" are the best!

best of luck to everyone!
