Oh my, home grown tomatoes are so much better tasting than the store bought ones. I think its because they are allowed to ripen a bit longer on the vine.

You've got me considering starting some container vegges on my deck. I can't plant a garden because of the deer, but I have a deck that gets lots of great sunlight. Have you priced tomatoes lately? And, peppers? Do you like summer squash? These are great warm weather veggies. Just make sure you buy the potting soil that's made for potting veggies...it's very different from the other potting soils. And, use containers with lots of drainage.

Okay....I'm excited! Friday is payday. Looks like I'm doing some gardening this weekend.

Hahaha... Just stay away from ebay. Its amazing what you think you can't live without when you are drunk! And like they say, a bid is a contract!

Chellez Thanks so much for the info! I have it all written down so I won't forget anything when I go to order at Cracker Barrel! You knew the inside track which helps when it comes to "fast food". We will be bringing our grill so we can make pretty much whatever we want. I'm going to keep the idea in mind of making a queen breakfast, moderate lunch and light dinner. Yeah they don't check bags really well either because we brought hotdogs and hamburgers in tinfoil into the track so that we wouldn't have to buy concession food for the last race we went to. This time it will be healthy fresh veggies and fruit and maybe a turkey dog just in case I have the urge to have a "concession".

Thanks for all the help guys!! We have the BEST team ever!!!

Our inlaws have a garden and I can't wait for the fresh veggies and fruit!!!

For the would-be gardeners (don't look Anna, you'll only cry again):

I'm currently enjoying fresh veggies via my patio garden. Actually we've only gotten 1 tomato and 1 pepper, yet, but it's all on the plants, we're just waiting for it to ripen. I got most of my pots at the Dollar Tree ($1/pot) and a huge bag of potting mix from Lowes ($8). The plant prices vary, and I did some from seeds. My advice is to buy the biggest plants you can find (like a 1/2 gallon), not the scrawny ones that come 6 to a pack. Also local grown plants are best, if available.

Besides wishing for a veg garden I also I wish I had citrus trees in my yard, but nope. I do have coconut palms though, but they are still relatively young. But once they produce ripe coconuts we'll definitely chow on them. I love raw coconut (don't like the processed stuff for some reason).

Ooooo, nice Dee! I wanna go start one right away!

Just stopping by to say Hi. I'm having an off day for some reason. I layed down in bed to read at 9am, and ended up sleeping until 12pm, lol. I'm so tired right now. I need to stop staying up until 3am reading, lol.

FYI: I'm gonna need a lot of support tomorrow. I cant say why just yet..but I'm just dreading tomorrow..I'll explain it all later.

Well..I'm gonna go get back to my grocery list. I only have 4 items on it, and non of them are food related, lol.

Francie - Big Its not surprising at all that you are having an off day sweetie. This is major uber emotion week for you what with yesterday's bday and ex-friend drama and tomorrow (I think I remember what tomorrow is , but understand that you don't want to say it just yet ). That much emotional intensity can be VERY draining.

We are here for you, and will be here tomorrow for anything you need! Now go add some food to your shopping list! Turkey bacon is a great substitute for regular!

Depends on your plan and if you like it! I can't stand the stuff, myself, so I go for center cut bacon, which has 40% less fat than regular but still tastes like regular bacon.

Of course now, thanks to high blood pressure, I avoid bacon completely due to the sodium. grr...high blood pressure sucks, man!
